Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine: (1) improvement of problem solving ability of mathematics between students who were given inquiry learning model with REACT strategy with students who were given the usual learning model; (2) improvement of mathematical communication ability between students who are given inquiry learning model with REACT strategy with students who are given the usual learning model. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 28 Medan with sample of 60 students. This study is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test-post-test control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII (eight) by taking samples of two classes (experimental class and control class) through random sampling technique. The instrument used consisted of mathematical problem solving test and mathematical communication skill test. The instrument is said to have fulfilled the terms of content validity and reliability coefficient. Data were analyzed by two-way ANAVA test. Prior to the use of two-track ANAVA test, homogeneity test in the study and normality in this study with 5% significance level. Based on the results of the analysis, the research results are obtained: (1) improvement of problem solving ability of mathematics students who get inquiry learning model with REACT strategy is higher than students who get ordinary learning model; (2) improvement of students' mathematical communication ability that obtains inquiry learning model with REACT strategy is higher than students who get ordinary learning model. Based on the results of this study, researchers suggest that inquiry learning model with REACT strategy can be an alternative for teachers to improve problem solving skills and mathematical communication.

Abstract

The problems will be explain in this research is the decrease of resultstudy students' in Class VII MTs Cerdas Murni Tembung on thesubject of Square and triangles. This is evident from an unqualifiedstudents solve problems Square and triangles, so that the necessaryeffort and appropriate learning models to overcome the problems.Thepurpose this study is to know the increase in students' mathematicslearning outcomes by using a tiered training strategies and with thesupport of media animation pictures on the subject of square andtriangles in class VII MTs Cerdas Murni Tembung. This research wasmeasures class research. The subject in this research were studentsClass VII MTs Cerdas Murni Tembung as many as 40 students,consisting of 20 people male students and 20 female students. Thisresearch was conducted by 2 cycles in four meetings, which consists offour stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection . for see andknow the capabilities of students, research using observation sheetstudent activity, questions about the pretest and post test form multiplechoice given to all students to answer them individually. Based on theresults of initial tests before being given action shows the percentage ofclassical learning completeness amount of 7,5% (3 students) .Aftergiven instruction action using a tiered training strategies and with thesupport of media animation computer. Completeness percentageobtained in the first cycle of 42.5 % ( 17 students ) . After repairs in thefirst cycle to second Cycle reach percentage rate becomes 87.5 %% (35 students). So as to obtain an increase in students' mathematicslearning outcomes of the first cycle second cycle reached 45% .Basedon the above results, it can be concluded the application of learning byusing a tiered excercise Strategist and with the support of media imagescan improve learning outcomes math on the subject of Square andtriangles.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of significant between learningmodels talking stick method to the magic math mathematics learningoutcomes in the classroom digunaakan V. This type of research isquantitative research with experimental methods of classic experimentaldesign types (classical experimental design), which was held inElementary School 200 211 Padangsidimpuan. The population in thisstudy consisted of all students in fifth grade elementary totaling 82people, and also the whole population sample. The research instrumentsused were pretest and posttest. Statistical hypothesis testing formulaused t-test, and the results of hypothesis test obtained by the average -average grade control = 67, average - average class experiment = 76,and t test with a value of t = 2.32> t table = 1.990. So we concluded thatHo is rejected and Ha accepted, which means there is significantinfluence between the learning model talking stick method on learningoutcomes magic math mathematics on the subject of cubes and blocksclass V SD Negeri 200 211 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This research focuses on the effort to describe the difficulties experienced by students in the learning process on the subject of building a flat side room in mathematics learning. This research was conducted in connection with the difficulty of students in learning mathematics on the matter of building a flat side room. Therefore, it takes an effort to to find out the causes of difficulties experienced by students in the process of learning mathematics. One way that can be done is to identify the causes of student learning difficulties experienced by mathematics students during the process of learning mathematics took place in the classroom. Abstract

The aims of this research are intended to examine the effect of ARIAS learning model toward the increase of student’s mathematical understanding ability. The research utilized nonequivalent pre-test and post control group design. The population of this research are students of grade seven from one junior high school in Bandung. As concern, the sample comprised of 37 students in ARIAS class (experiment group) and 35 students in conventional class (control group). The research problem are to improve mathematical understanding ability. The quantitative analysis is used independent sample t-test, Mann-Whitney test, while qualitative analysis is used descriptive one. The result shows better increasing mathematical understanding ability by using ARIAS learning model than by using conventional teaching.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) improvement of problem solving ability of mathematics between students taught by using realistic mathematics approach higher than mathematical problem solving ability of students taught by using ordinary learning (2) is there any significant interaction between early ability of mathematics Students and learning to improve students' mathematical problem solving skills. This research is a quasi experimental research. The population in this study were all students of Shafiyyyatul Amaliyah High School Medan, which amounted to 250 students, by taking two class samples, totaling 62 students through purposive sampling technique. The instruments used consisted of: mathematical problem-solving test with Trigonometry material. The instrument is said to have fulfilled the terms of content validity, as well as the realibility coefficients for pretest and posttest of 0.861 and 0.859 for mathematical problem solving abilities. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the calculation result using two path anava that is 12,366 whereas the value of sig 0,001 <0,05 means the improvement of problem solving ability of mathematics between student which is taught by using realistic mathematics approach higher than the ability of problem solving of student mathematic which is taught By using ordinary learning, (2) the result of two-track anova calculation is 0.275 with sig value. 0,761> 0,05 means there is no interaction between students 'early mathematical ability and learning to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. Based on research findings, realistic mathematical approach can be recommended to be one of the learning approaches used in the main school to achieve the competence of problem solving ability of mathematics.

Abstract

The reseach was conducted Classroom Action Research (CAR) forincreasing a chievement student matematics and to know increasingstudent at MTs Muhammadiyah Sei Apung Jaya were class VII withusing genius learning strategy. Subject of this reseach was MTsMuhammadiyah Sei Apung Jaya student’s Kecamatan TanjungbalaiKabupaten Asahan of class VII-A, the secod semester year student2014/2015 which consist of 46 student. Object of this reseach wasapplication genius learning strategi to increase achievement studentmatematics. Based on of achievement student matematics for materialgathering items before using genius learning strategy at class VII-AMTs Muhammadiyah Sei Apung Jaya student who got up 59, 22. Afterstudent was done learning with application genius learning strategy atthe first cycle, student got up 63,04% or 29 student and value was riseabout 71,5, and then the second cycle got up 86,96% or 40 student wirevalue 82,10. Based on of reseach that application of genius learningstrategy for increasing student matematics at class VII MTsMuhammadiyah Sei Apung Jaya Kecamatan Tanjugbalai KabupatenAsahan very effective was used to be able to increase student.

Abstract

This study aims to find out (1) students 'learning outcomes of mathematics taught with different strategies, (2) students' mathematics learning outcomes taught by traditional algorithms, (3) Are there different effects of counting strategies on results learn mathematics students on integer operation material. This research is a quantitative research with kind of quasi-experimental research. The population in this study were all third grade students of Public Elementary School 114349. The sample in this study was class III-1 as an experimental class with a total of 30 students and class III-2 as a control class with a total of 30 students. The findings in this study indicate that classes taught by using different strategies have an average value of 31.970 and the classes taught by algorithm have an average value of 28,5758. The results of hypothesis testing show that t count> t table is 2.925> 2.0018 with the conclusion that students' mathematics learning outcomes are taught with different strategies better than those taught with traditional algorithms on integer operation material in Public Elementary School No. 114349 Academic Year 2016/2017

Abstract

The problem in this study is less the maximum result of students'mathematics learning in class VIII-3 MTs Miftahussalam Medan. Thisis evident from the test results pre-action, observation and interviewresearchers who demonstrate a lack of understanding of the students tolearn math so that the necessary efforts and modeles teachers uselearning modeles. This study aims to increase the students' mathematicslearning in class VIII-3 MTs Miftahussalam Medan using cooperativelearning model Student Team Achievement Divisions (STAD). Thisclassroom action research conducted through two cycles that includesplanning, implementation, observation and reflection. To know theresults of students' mathematics learning, the researchers used the testresults to learn math student individually. That is the subject of thisresearch is class VIII-3 MTs Miftahussalam Terrain totaling 40 studentsconsisting of 19 male students and 21 female students. Beforeadministering the actions, the percentage of classical completeness ofthe test scores of students seen pre-action on previous material stillrelevant and classical completeness of students obtained 15% (6students) with an average of 25.625. After administering the act ofteaching through cooperative learning model Student TeamAchievement Divisions (STAD), the test results of students'mathematics learning in the first cycle, the percentage of classicalcompleteness acquired 60.00% (24 students) with an average of 65.125.Meanwhile, after repairs from the first cycle to the second cycle, the testmath achievement test in the second cycle, the percentage of classicalcompleteness acquired 87.50% (35 students) with an average grade79.625. So from the condition before being given corrective action untilthe cycle is obtained an increase of 72.5%. From the results of this classaction, the researchers concluded their mathematics learning outcomeof students with cooperative learning model Student TeamAchievement Divisions (STAD) in the class VIII-3 MTs MiftahussalamMedan.

Abstract

This study aims to find out (1) The ability of students' mathematical reasoning that is taught by realistic mathematics approach (2) The ability of students' mathematical reasoning that is taught by conventional learning (3) Is there a comparison of the effect of realistic mathematical approach and conventional learning to students' VII Junior Islamic Education Foundation Deli Tua T.A 2016/2017. This research is quantitative research. The population of this research is all students of class VII SMP Islamic Education FoundationDeli Tua consisting of 151 students. The sample in this research is class VII-4 amounted to 26 students as experimental class and class VII-5 amounted to 25 students as control class. The findings of this research show: (1) The students 'math competence ability which is taught by realistic mathematical approach get the average score of 67,30 (2) The students' math competency which is taught by conventional learning gets the average score of 59,29 (3 ) There is a comparison of the effect of realistic mathematical approach and conventional learning on the mathematical reasoning ability of the seventh grade students of SMP Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Deli Tua T.A 2016/2017. This is based on the calculation of statistical test-t obtained by the number of 1.792 while the t-table of 1.676. Thus, there is a comparison of the effect of realistic mathematical approach and conventional learning on students' math reasoning ability.
