Abstract

Abstract

n this research, soil improvement is done by using waste of snail shells (LCK) in Desa Ulak Kembahang II, Kecamatan Lubuk Keliat, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, Sumatera Selatan and soil from Tanjung Api-api Area, Gasing , Kabupaten Banyuasin, Sumatera Selatan . The soil used is a type of problematic soil that is expansive clay, which is known LL value (Liquid limit) more than 35%. The LCK used is then used as powder. Furthermore, there are 5 variations of percentage of addition of snail shell powder (SCK) with soil, and give the curing time is for 0, 1 and 7 days. Results from CBR Unsoaked (US) Testing resulted in the addition of SCK at a certain percentage and the curing time could increase the value of CBR expansive clay soil. The highest value of CBR Unsoaked on variation of percentage of SCK increase as much as 11% in the curing curing time for 7 days that is equal to 5.6% for the value of CBR US which in the original land has a CBR value of 3.5%. The result analysis of SEM-EDX test on soil mixture and SCK known SCK works as filler which fill the cavity found in soil grains and the main element of soil known as SiO2 and Al2O3 forming binder material with CaO.

Abstract

Construction industry in Malaysia has moved forward into technology-driven where its transition is in progress from conventional method to a more advanced and mechanized system known as the Industrialized Building System (IBS). This paper presents economic aspects of using Interlocking Hollow Brick System (IHBS) in the construction of the Primary Distribution Sub-station (PPU) of energy infrastructure asset development. The main objective is to compare the difference in construction method between IHBS with the conventional method. The study is focused on comparing various aspects of using interlocking block system in terms of time, costs, and utilization of workforce. Building Information Modelling tools in this study are used. From the analysis and modeling of the PPU, it is shown that the implementation of IHBS can reduce construction time, cost, and utilization of workforce up to 40% - 50% as compared to the conventional method. The construction time using IHBS can be reduced up to 48% as compared to the conventional construction method.

Abstract

Opening modification of castellated beam now has varied including circular, diamond and hexagonal, in the selection of openings required data behavior as the basis of planning according to the desired conditions. The purpose of this study is to know the behavior of short-span castellated beam with variations of circular, diamond and hexagonal openings using finite element method. The geometry of the 1 meter span castellated beam used 225x75x7x5 mm. The method used to create a numerical model castellated beam with circular openings that are analyzed using finite element method then verified with experimental model results with geometry, material and loading the same. After the numerical model result closer to the experimental model, then created 5 variations of the geometry of numerical model openings for each variations. The results showed that the variation in the height and width of the same openings in the three types of openings obtained for the circular opening beams have greater deflection than the others because of the larger holes ratio. For diamond opening beams, the ultimate load is greater than the other because the ratio of the smaller holes ratio and for the hexagonal opening beams has the smallest deflection and stress than the others.

Abstract

Mohammad Hoesin general hospital (RSMH) is a public hospital owned by the Government of Palembang located at Jl. Sudirman . It is located in a densely populated area with total built area of ± 20 ha. The absence of adequate infiltration area plus improper drainage condition and capacity caused floods as high as ± 30 cm in the parking lot which is at the lowest elevation. In order to overcome these problems, RSMH took the initiative to build a retention pond. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of retention pond development plan along with its drainage network through the duflow modeling studio (DMS) approach and spatial analysis of Geographic Information System (GIS). Total catchment for the study area covers the area of ± 46 Ha with the maximum runoff discharge obtained from the modeling results Q = 0,2 m3/s while the waste water effluent that is discharged into the drainage channel Q = 0,0021 m3/s is not too significant therefore can be ignored. Capacity of retention pond with minimum area of 0,7 Ha is sufficient to serve the catchment area, but it should be considered the use of pumps with a capacity of at least 150 lt/s to overcome high elevation difference.

Abstract

Rental income of Kasnariansyah rent flats can not cover the increase in operating costs so that the new rental rates are adjusted. Adjustment of rental price is limited to 1/3 of the residents income. The purpose of this study is 1) determine the amount of Willingness to Pay (WTP), 2) determine the amount of Ability to Pay (ATP) 3) determine variables that influence the willingness to pay the occupants. The results showed that ATP and WTP approached the value of new rental rates. Factor of willingness to pay is influenced by income and perception of facility.
