Abstract

Discipline behavior is one of the most important behaviors to teach because it can make a person able to follow the rules. Schools are strategic environments for teaching disciplined behavior. The school education system requires students to be disciplined, and every student must always follow the existing rules. This study aims to provide insight into the factors that influence students in disciplinary behavior so as to facilitate an educational institution in improving discipline in the special education process at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method through the approach initiated by Miles and Huberman. With data obtained by taking a survey on 163 students (male: 95; female: 68) from Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurussalam, Sambirejo, Mantingan, Ngawi, Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that there are several factors that influence the disciplinary behavior of madrasah ibtidaiyah students which are divided into four motivations, including: (1) internal motivation factor, this can be seen from the students' understanding of the discipline that has been applied in madrasah ibtidaiyah by being able to adapt to the school regulatory system, have good self-control (which is influenced by religiosity), and have high ideal motivation , and (2) external motivation factors, this can be seen from the support of parents, having responsibility and motivation to avoid punishment, and the influence of friends who have obeyed the rules.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the concept of character education according to Thomas Lickona and Ki Hadjar Dewantara. Which later is expected to be able to describe in more detail the concept of character education according to Thomas Lickona and Ki Hadjar Dewantara. This research is library research, so all the data presented is obtained from tracing primary sources, namely the translated book of Thomas Lickona Educating for Character and Ki Hadjar Dewantara's Character Education book, as well as various other supporting sources. With this descriptive, analytical, and comparative search, it is hoped that it will be able to examine the concept of character education according to Thomas Lickona and Ki Hadjar Dewantara. The results of this study found that the concept of character education of Thomas Lickona and Ki Hajar Dewantara is how all social elements have a strong role in the process of forming one's character, both in the age group, professional group and so on, as well as in developing character and values which are a target or achievement. in the educational process at school.

Abstract

This study aims to understand and reveal the efforts of the Principal of KMI (Kulliyatul Mu’allimin Al-Islamiyah) to upgrade teachers’ professionalism. For this goal, this research used field research, with a qualitative research approach. The object field for this research is Darussalam Gontor for Girls first College, Sambirejo, Mantingan, Ngawi, East Java, Indonesia. The research methodology consists of data reduction, display data, and concluding data. With all of this process of research found that the efforts of the Principal of  KMI to upgrade teacher’s professionalism competence contain 5 point’s: (1) encouraging teachers active involvement in academic and non-academic activities; (2) holding Kamisan routines meeting to evaluate learning activities; (3) improving teachers understanding about special subject material within ta’hil programs; (4) direct observation on learning process through learning supervision in the classroom; and (5) requiring teachers to make teaching preparations before entering the learning process at the classroom.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of ta'awun moral education among blind and mentally retarded children at the Integrated Blind Orphanage 'Aisyiyah Ponorogo. This study used a qualitative approach, and the data was collected using interviews, observation and documentation, all of which were used to answer questions about the implementation of ta'awun moral education among blind and mentally retarded children. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of ta'awun moral education is carried out through learning activities. One of these learning activities is to teach religious materials such as aqidah morals, fiqh and several other religious lessons. Meanwhile, the educational method used is exemplary, habituation, advice and by paying attention to foster children. As for the supporting factors in the implementation of this implementation, namely, the existence of an organizational structure for the care division which will later control the activities of foster children in the orphanage, then the social environment and infrastructure that support learning activities. While the result of the moral education is that they are still young, but they grow into extraordinary children with their limitations. The spirit of helping him is used to it.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the teacher in shaping the leadership characteristics of the students of Madrasah Ibtidayyah Nurussalam. This research uses the type of field research. (field research). With a qualitative descriptive research approach. This research took place in Madrasah Ibtidayyah Nurussalam, Sambirejo, Mantingan, Ngawi, East Java. Data collection methods consist of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the teacher's role in shaping the leadership characteristics of the students of Madrasah Ibtidayyah Nurussalam, Sambirejo, Mantingan, Ngawi, East Java, includes: (1) providing good examples; (2) introducing responsibilities, (3) providing direction and motivation; (4) giving group assignments or work, (5) forming an organization, (6) providing approaches and escorts; and (7) providing training, and habituation. In their role in shaping the leadership character of students, teachers face several obstacles caused by internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include, (1) The low level of self-awareness and sensitivity of students to the environment, (2) Lack of confidence, (3) Low discipline. While external factors include: (1) The family environment is not good and (2) the association is not good.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the mathematics teacher in overcoming the learning difficulties of sixth grade students at SD Islam Cokroaminoto 1, Kalabahi, Wetabua, Kec. Teluk Mutiara, Kab. Alor, Nusa Tenggara Timur. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. The results of the study found that the difficulties experienced by students in mathematics subjects were students paying less attention to teacher explanations, students' lack of interest in mathematics, making mistakes when calculating especially in multiplication and division, low memory and concentration abilities, and different students' comprehension abilities. -different. The teacher's role in overcoming students' learning difficulties in mathematics subjects is that the teacher provides material and sample questions, as well as mentoring students and individual approaches to students, placing students who have difficulty in the front row, providing motivation to students, presenting interesting mathematical concepts and varied and create comfortable learning conditions and situation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the STAD type cooperative learning model in improving the learning outcomes of basic education students. This study uses classroom action research with 15 students as subjects of Class IV SD Negeri Sebanjar, Alor Village, Northwest Alor District, East Nusa Tenggara, consisting of 7 males and 8 females. This research was carried out in two cycles, and each cycle was carried out in 3 meetings including tests at the end of each cycle. Data collection was carried out using learning outcomes tests at the end of each cycle, observation sheets for teacher and student activities carried out during the learning process and student response questionnaires. The collected data was then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this classroom action research analysis found that the implementation of the STAD Type Cooperative learning model for two cycles has been able to improve the learning outcomes of Class IV students at SD Negeri Sebanjar, Alor Village, Alor Barat Laut Subdistrict, East Nusa Tenggara, which is reflected in several aspects, including: (a) the increase in student learning outcomes, this can be seen from the increase in the average total percentage of learning outcomes, namely in the first cycle by 60% and in the fairly good category, increasing in the second cycle to 86.7% and in the very category good; (b) an increase in the activity of teachers and students in the learning process in accordance with the results of observations made during the study. for teacher activity, namely in the first cycle the average percentage of teacher activity was 77.8% and in the second cycle it increased to 90.3%. for student activities, namely in the first cycle the average percentage of student activity was 74% and in the second cycle it increased to 91.7%; and (c) students gave a positive response to the implementation of the STAD type cooperative learning model with an average total percentage of 100%.
