Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the dynamics of the political dynasty of the harahap clan government in North Padang Lawas, and how the North Padang Lawas people's response to the system of government political dynasties formed in the district. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The informants in this study were selected using purposive sampling, namely by collecting accurate data or information related to the political dynasty of the North Padang Lawas government through individuals who are believed to have sources of accurate information related to research data. The results of this study indicate that the process of political dynasties in North Padang Lawas was formed due to several reasons. The first is from family relations (familism) obtained both in continguity and marriage. Second, political dynasties are formed through the popularity of prospective leaders. Third, political dynasties are formed from the experiences created by the leaders themselves in the previous period (the quality of leadership) that builds people's trust. Lastly, political dynasties could have been formed due to the influence of the demographic composition of the people who inhabit Paluta district itself, for example the domisioner clan (clan) that inhabited the district, namely the harahap clan. Furthermore, related to the problems above, the community responded with different views, namely positive sentiments and negative sentiments, including: a political dynasty can be a threat to us Indonesians, especially the North Padang Lawas district because it can endanger social mobilization and damage the regeneration of political journeys, as well as the occurrence of practical and dirty political practice.

Abstract

The earth is experiencing global warming due to an increase in air temperature (greenhouse effect). This is due to the large number of greenhouse gases produced by human activities. In addition, it is also due to the reduced number of plants that absorb greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide. This condition causes the study of the greenhouse effect to become an object studied by students at school. Understanding the greenhouse effect is somewhat difficult if only understood in theory. Increasing understanding can be done by making practicum learning media. This study aims to create learning media for the Greenbox Effect Simulator to help understand the concept of the greenhouse effect. The research was conducted using control variables and independent variables (use of plants and without plants). The plants used are Caisim, Sri Gading and Anggrek. The presence of carbon dioxide (CO2) greenhouse gases can be detected by three things, namely changes in the color of the CO2 indicator, changes in temperature, and visibility of the box. The color of the CO2 indicator shows green and green yellow for Box B (with plants) which means the concentration of CO2 in normal conditions. Whereas Box C (without plants) gives a yellow color, which means that the concentration of CO2 is at high conditions. The presence of carbon dioxide gas from combustion will increase the temperature by 1.4 - 1.9 oC in Box C (without plants) and 0.7 - 1.5 oC in Box B (use of plants). The visibility of Box B shows a higher brightness level than Box C. The best plants that can absorb CO2 concentrations are orchids. The ability of orchids to absorb CO2 is assisted by their roots which also function to carry out photosynthesis. The existence of plants functions to absorb CO2 quite well when viewed from changes in temperature, color indicators and visibility.

Abstract

Shopping malls can influence adolescents' lifestyle. Adolescents' ability to adjust lifestyle has assumed dynamism in the social order system and a symbol of identity. In this context, the relationship between adolescent lifestyles and shopping malls is interesting to investigate how the dimensions of youth lifestyle influence and shopping mall attractiveness indicators identify adolescent visitors' characteristics. By using the incidental sampling technique, this quantitative research data involved 97 adolescents as respondents through interview and questionnaire methods, secondary data support, and multiple regression methods consisting of 5 independent variables, namely convenience, comfort, diversity, entertainment, luxury and essence of the mall and one lifestyle dependent variable. Two data analysis techniques; cross-table analysis of respondent characters and statistical analysis using SPSS software to support study in the Linkert Scale, followed by validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption test, multiple regression test, t-test (partial), F test (simultaneous) and coefficient determination. The analysis found that the comfort variable is the most significant variable that impacts adolescent lifestyle. Therefore, there needs to be intensive supervision of mall activities with a high level of convenience to anticipate deviant actions that are feared to harm teenage lifestyles

Abstract

Green purchasing concept adoption witnessing a rapid increase according to recent researches, not to mention that, environmental issues have been trending in the last few decades as well, and according to previous researches, a lack of literatures regarding this issue in Libya were found after searching around the country’s biggest universities such as Tripoli University, Benghazi University, and Misurata University. This study used quantitative research method aiming to investigate the strongest variables affecting the Libyan consumers’ acceptance towards the concept of green purchasing among three different categories of variables, environmental knowledge, cultural beliefs and price sensitivity, as Libya is showing a very slow growing in adopting the concept of green purchasing, hence, conducting such a study is an essential role-play in highlighting the strongest factors affecting the adoption of the concept amongst Libyan consumers. The data was collected via distributed Google form, and a sample of 700 respondents were collected to be analyzed using SPSS 0.25. Accordingly, findings showed the significant affect that environmental knowledge and cultural beliefs severally have on Libyan consumers’ acceptance towards green acceptance, at a variance to price sensitivity which showed insignificant effect. Moreover, environmental knowledge, cultural beliefs and price sensitivity concurrently affected the acceptance of Libyan consumers’ acceptance towards green purchasing.
