Abstract

The aims of this research were to determine the effect of cooperative learning model and learning styles on learning the result. This quasi-experimental study employed a 2X2 treatment by level, involving cooperative learning model and learning styles as independent variables, and learning result as the dependent variable. Research findings show that: (1) students’ learning result who were taught by cooperative learning model type of GI were higher compared to those that based on type STAD. (2) there was an effect of interaction between cooperative model and learning styles on the students’ learning result. (3) the learning result of the type of accommodator students who were taught by learning model type of GI was higher than those who were taught by type of STAD. (4) The assimilators learning results who were taught by type of GI were lesser than those of STAD’s.

Abstract

This study aims at improving students’ mastery on English vocabulary using computer and nding out the effectiveness, ef ciency and the attractiveness of Computer- Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in English learning. It was carried out at State Junior High School 24 Makassar by using proactive action research method and intervention action model used by John Elliot. The data were collected and analyzed by using mixed method approach. Instruments used for collecting data in this study are questionnaires, documents, observation check list, interview, and achievement tests. The results showed that the students’ English vocabulary can be increased through the use of computer in Eng- lish language learning. Besides, it is also effective, ef cient and attractive to be used in English learning process.

Abstract

This study uses quantitative comparative approach with experimental method to make-up artistry student at State University of Jakarta. Contextual teaching and learn- ing (CTL)-group models for experimental classes and contextual teaching and learning (CTL)-individual models for control classes. The analysis uses ANAVA and Tukey’s test. The results: (1) the student engagement of those who use CTL-group models are higher than those who use CTL-individual models, (2), there were interactions between CTL models use and achievement motivation to the student engagement tata rias student, (3), the student engagement of those with high achievement motivation who use CTL-individual models are higher than those who use CTL-group models, and (4) the student engagement of those with low achievement motivation who use CTL-group models are higher than those who use CTL-individual models.

Abstract

This study aims at improving students’ interpersonal skills and developing learn- ing strategies with focus on the improvement of interpersonal skills. The study employs the action research design, particularly the collaborative action research.Findings of the study reveal that students’ interpersonal skills are improved through cooperative learning with re- gards to three indicators of interpersonal skils, i.e. team-work skills, communication skills and leadership skills. In addition to improvement in these skills, positive social interactions have also been developed, such as social contact and active communication amongst stu- dents. Implication of this study is development of cooperative learning in Social Science Studies to promote development of students’ interpersonal skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a learning model Batakologi and lead innovative module products with constructivist approaches, for class VIII Junior High School. Data collected in the research and development using qualitative descriptive analysis of the implementation and results of the design development of the model. The development consists of three steps, namely (1) the preliminary draft that consisted of literature studies, requirements analysis, and documentation, (2) the development stage consists of the development of learning Batakologi, syllabi, evaluations, expert validation and revision (3) the implementation phase consisting of limited testing and revision, eld trials and revisions, and the final model. The product of this research is the book Batakologi Innovative learning modules and teacher guidebooks that the application can be used by students and teachers, the source comes from the tradition of the Batak culture.

Abstract

The research aims are to evaluate four aspects of broadcast management instructional programs, those are: planning, production, execution, and monitoring and evaluation used a qualitative approach. The evaluation used Provus evaluation model, conducted at Pustekkom and three Junior High Schools. The data from questionnaires, observation, interview, and documentation, analyzed using Miles and Huberman models. The results described that: 1) program planning was less focused; 2) production process has been done procedurally, but host rated rigid; 3) execution schedules are not on target and less promotion; and 4) monitoring and evaluation program conducted only when preview, whereas when on air and after is not performed special call on the program. Inferred that, this program deserves to broadcast and used as an enrichment program in science instruction.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to develop a training model of a quality of web-based management system. The model development is employing Dick and Carey model. This model development step begins by identifying instructional goal(s), conduct instructional analysis, analyze learner and context, write performance objectives, develop assessment instrument, develop instructional strategy, develop and select instructional materials, design and conduct the formative evaluation of instructional, revising, and design and conduct a summative evaluation. Research and development produce web-based training model in the form of conceptual and physical models. Of the product development process and evaluation is done, it can be concluded, that the training model based quality management system and effectiveness websites categorized either to improve the competence of employees in providing services.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of metacognitive instructional strategy and cognitive style on students’ mathematics problem solving ability in the seventh grade of Madrasah Tsanawiyah, Wanasaba district. The research method used a quasi-experimental with 3 x 2 ANOVA factorial design. The results indicate that: (1) students’ ability on mathematics problem solving who uses IDEAL metacognitive instructional strategy is higher than who uses KWL and learning portfolio. (2) the ability on mathematics problem solving of students with field independent cognitive style is higher than field dependent cognitive style. (3) There is an interaction effect between metacognitive instructional strategy and cognitive style on mathematics problem solving. (4) the ability on mathematics problem solving of students with field independent cognitive style who was taught with IDEAL metacognitive instructional strategy is higher than who was taught by KWL and learning portfolio. (5) the ability on mathematics problem solving of students with field dependent cognitive style who was taught with IDEAL and KWL metacognitive instructional strategy is lower than by learning portfolio.

Abstract

This research aims at validating spreadsheet based statistics modules, to know results of field trials, the influence of spreadsheet based modules implementation on statistics course achievement, and student’s perceptions to the implementation of spreadsheet based statistics modules. Validation of education expert used five aspects and then followed by field trials. The results of the research show that assessment/validation of the education expert is the overall modules are categorized good and all of the seven modules are also categorized good. The overall statistical modules provide better results significantly for students who used the modules compared to students who did not use the modules. Therefore, spreadsheet based modules implementation influenced statistics course achievement of Accounting Departmen students, Bali State Polytechnic. Student’s perceptions of implementation the spreadsheet based statistics modules are the majority they said good (97.7%), very good (2.3%), pretty good (0%), less good (0%), and not good (0%) or score average of 4.2 out of 5.

Abstract

The aims of this research are gaining deep understanding and describing the planning, implementation, and effect of Imtaq program in forming students’ tolerant attitude at SMPN 2 Mataram. The research method used was qualitative method, especially case study one. Data collection technique used were participative observation, indepth interview, and documentation. The procedure of analyzing data used interactive model with the channel of: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The research results are: (1) Planning of imtaq program utilizes system approach with societal participatory mechanism; (2) Imtaq program is implemented through the forming of religious culture, religious extracurricular activity and by developing societal participation; (3) Imtaq program has positive impacts on the development of students' tolerant attitude, this is indicated by: knowing and respecting, appreciating and tolerating those who believe in other religions, caring and helping, and willing for cooperation.
