Abstract

The Tahfidz Al-Qur'an program has many functions, one of which is to strengthen the character and religious values of students, especially in the era of globalization which is very vulnerable to cultural shifts and moral degradation. so that many public and private educational institutions hold tahfidz programs in the hope that if students are close to the Qur'an they will have good morals and personality. One of them is SMPTQ Abi Ummi Boyolali based on the Boarding School and its flagship program is Tahfidz Al-Qur'an which targets to memorize 5 Juz within 1 year. The purpose of this study was to describe how the implementation of the tahfidz Al-Qur'an program at the Boarding School of SMPTQ Abi Ummi Boyolali. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection using observation, Interviews and documentation from September 2021-December 2021 were analyzed, presented and finally concluded. The result is that the implementation of the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an Program at the Boarding School of SMPTQ Abi Ummi Boyolali is quite ideal because it includes determining the time, environment, place, material and various methods. Then there is the direct involvement of musyrif tahfidz, upgrading abilities and recruiting to a standard. As well as the support of parents through the role of the school. And finally the control from superiors.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Job satisfaction is a factor that really needs to be considered in various work organizations, including educational organizations, because job satisfaction has been shown to have many influences on various organizational outputs, especially on work performance. This study aims to determine the level of job satisfaction of private college lecturers and which factors have the greatest role in shaping lecturers’ job satisfaction in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan. Respondents in this study were 314 permanent lecturers in various private college that still active in Banjarmasin City. Job satisfaction was measured by 5 indicators, each described by a few items. Data analysed using Spearman’s Correlation to determine the correlation between every indicator to it’s total variable. The results of the study found that the most satisfying factor according to the lecturers was the work environment, while the factor that had the biggest role in shaping job satisfaction was workplace guidance, especially the role of leadership in directing and providing input to lecturers. It is hoped that through this research, lecturers' job satisfaction can be maintained and have a positive impact on various other organizational outputs.

Abstract

The role of psychosocial factors in improving students learning is well documented in literature, as well as its prospects and benefits in addressing educational problems. Hence the need to assess the psychosocial learning environment for biology learning. This study revealed biology students’ anxiety level, their sense of belonging and the classroom climate as perceived by the students. The descriptive survey research was conducted with 391 biology students selected randomly from a population of all senior secondary school biology students in Akoko South West, Ondo State, Nigeria. A four-sectioned validated questionnaire, with reliability index of 0.72, 0.82, and 0.77, served data collection purpose. Findings revealed that students’ anxiety level is moderate (mean score=1.49). Although, students often get depressed if they don’t perform up to expectation (1.27), they are not anxious whenever test is approaching (1.54), and they are unsure of their anxiety level with respect to failing (1.50). Also, students exhibit a moderately high sense of belongingness in school (mean=1.68) but students feel ignored in most extra-curricular activities (1.31) and believe that their teachers are often too busy to attend to their personal needs (1.28). Students accepts their classroom climate as conducive for learning (1.76), organized (1.74), and not disoriented (1.59). The result also reveals that the classroom atmosphere is moderately positive (mean=1.66). It was recommended that educational stakeholder and curriculum implementers should employ techniques that will further decrease students’ anxiety and boost their sense of belonging. The classroom climate should be supplemented with psychosocial enrichment. Keywords: Psychosocial Learning Environment, Anxiety, Sense of Belonging, Biology

Abstract

This study investigated the roles of stakeholders in promoting technology-based learning in Nigeria. The population of the study comprised all senior secondary school III students in public secondary schools, their teachers and parents in Akoko South West, Ondo State. Simple random procedure was used to select ten (10) schools out of seventeen (17) secondary schools in the Local Government. Four hundred (400) samples comprised 300 students, 50 teachers and 50 parents were randomly selected from the population. Self-developed questionnaire served data collection purpose. The validated instrument, has a reliability index of 0.68. Findings from the study revealed that parents are to provide ICT gadgets for their children at home and monitor them so as to guide against abuse of the technology; it was discovered that Government, P.T.A., old students, philanthropists are to build and equip ICT units in schools and to, organize workshops and seminars for teachers on ICT. It was concluded that building and equipping of ICT centers by the government is very germane, PTA old students association and philanthropists. However, teachers are to strategically and technically make use of technology to foster teaching and learning in Nigeria. It was recommended that workshop and seminars are to be organized for personnel in ICT in schools by the Government and teachers are to use new innovative method to blend learning and make the process technology-based.Key words: stakeholders, parents, old students, technology-based, learning.

Abstract

Education is an effort to shape students' characters, one of which is to develop students who are independent, cooperative, tolerant, and critical thinkers. The purpose of this qualitative descriptive study is to collect data on the process and application of character education, as well as data about the difficulties that teachers face when implementing character education in Islamic boarding schools. This study included several respondents, including Islamic boarding school supervisors, school principals, teachers, and eighth grade students. Interviews, observation, and documentation were used to obtain and collect data on character education in Islamic boarding schools. The results of this research demonstrate that character education at the Islamic Boarding School Tarbiyatul Banin Dukuntang Cirebon is consistent with national education goals, namely character formation. According to the data, the character education implemented at Tarbiyatul Banin Integrated Islamic Junior High School, Dukupuntang, Cirebon uses the implementation of programs provided at schools and also at boarding schools such as the dhuha prayer program, fardhu prayer in congregation, tahajjud prayer, and dhikr in the form of istighfar to build the students' religious character. extracurricular activities, cults to develop student leadership and self-confidence, programs such as Qur'an translation, Tahfidz, and book recitation to explore religious knowledge.

Abstract

The free tutorial program of the Mathematics Society members and Department of Mathematics faculty members is an extension activity implemented semesterly in preparation for both midterm and final examinations on selected Mathematics subjects at Pampanga State Agricultural University. Pre-test and post-test were administered to students who voluntarily participated before and after the free tutorial program. Using the inferential method of research, the results showed that the pre-test performance of students is significantly different to the post-test across all the free tutorial programs conducted from 2014 to 2018. Moreover, the tutorial performance and the major examination performance of students were significantly related. Thus, the free tutorial program is effective for students who participated in the tutorial program. The findings of the study suggest the continuation of the tutorial program with wider dissemination for the increase of participants.

Abstract

This research was inspired by the phenomenon of the COVID-19 pandemic and the continuity of learning in remote schools, which was related to an increase in school accreditation. This type of research is qualitative and uses a naturalistic approach. This multi-site research examines two schools, SMPN 3 Satap Banawa Tengah and SMPN 11 Satap Palolo. The focus of this research is to find out the practice of quality management of education in both schools to answer the research questions as: 1) management of the learning process during a pandemic; 2) correlation of learning process management with school accreditation. Research data was collected using structured interviews, observation, and documentation. The data was analyzed using data reduction, presentation, and triangulation. This study found that quality management of the learning process was consistently carried out at the school during the pandemic. Both schools have implemented limited semi-online learning. Limited semi-online learning has similarities with other online learning but also has differences in implementation aspects. The second finding, every step taken by the principal in managing the learning process, refers to the accreditation guidelines that the ministry of education and culture has set. The analysis is carried out by critiquing each question item in the accreditation guidelines and is adjusted to the steps taken by the school. In practice, it's hard for schools to meet some of the accreditation requirements. However, in terms of the formal parts of the learning process, every step schools have taken has met the criteria set by the ministry of education.

Abstract

This study is related to the application of information and communication technology in the field of education, namely the use of digital learning media classdojo in elementary school. This research focuses on how to implement calassdojo as an e-learning medium at the Islamic Elementary School of the Khalifah Palu? Its aim is to reveal the application of classdojo as e-learning platform to digitally shape and monitor behavior and achievement of students in learning. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach through data collection techniques; namely: interviews, observations and documentation. The findings of this research indicate that the process of applying classdojo in the learning process for the first class students at Islamic Elementary School of the Khalifah Palu is running well according to the operational standards of this application. The indicators are reflected in students' proficiency in using the classdojo application while participating in e-learning with digital communication tools, such as: undroid, tablet, and account. In addition, through the classdojo application, teachers and parents can control learning activities, behavior and students’ achievements directly on the feature menu that has been made at the planning stage. The use of the classdojo platform received positive responses from teachers, students and parents as well as reflecting the digital literacy culture of students at the Islamic Elementary School of the Khalifah Palu.

Abstract

The language skills of teachers in special schools (Sekolah Luar Biasa/SLB) possess specific characteristics and must be continuously improved. Language habituation for special students is a reflection of their daily communication skills. The teacher's need for classroom management for special students becomes a new challenge because teachers are expected to optimize the use of language in the classroom to enhance students' communication skills directly. Based on the background of the problem, it is essential to conduct a clinical pedagogical analysis for teachers in dealing with problems that occur in the classroom, especially in language learning and communication for special students at SLB B Yakut Purwokerto. In order to answer the formulation of the problem, this study employed a qualitative approach to answer the clinical-pedagogical analysis conducted. The analytical instruments include (1) analysis of vocal abilities such as tone, articulation, pronunciation, application of intonation in learning; (2) analysis of self-expression abilities such as mimics and gestures in learning; and (3) the attitude and mentality of communication in learning. Based on the results of the learning analysis, it shows that the teacher's language skills still need to be improved. On a scale of 100, the results of the analysis of four language skills in SLB teacher learning comprise of communication skills which are 8.2, and class management 7.8. The development of communication and interaction-based learning media acquired 7.0 by implementing learning media technology to initiate creative ideas from teachers of SLB B Yakut Purwokerto, which later can be a good atmosphere for other schools. Teachers improve pedagogic knowledge and competence in optimizing learning situations through quality and fun interactive learning. All teachers realize the urgency of mastering speaking skills: emphasizing essential points, intonation, clear articulation; hence, special students can understand the material quickly in enhancing students' abilities.

Abstract

This research aims at investigating the perception of the third-grade students on learning vocabulary through NHK channel at Madrasah Aliyah Masembo Maros. The method of this research was quantitative descriptive method. The population was all the students of the third grade in Madrasah Aliyah Ainus Syamsy Masembo Maros that consisted of 50 students. The samples were selected purposively, that were those who already watched NHK channel that consisted of 14 students. The data were collected through questionnaires. The data were analyzed by looking for the means score and intervals to classify them. The result indicated that there was a positive perception of watching NHK channel on students’ learning. It was proved by the mean score of total number of all of the questions as 56,6 which was classified as very high. Therefore, it is concluded that learning vocabulary through NHK Channel has good response from third grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Ainus Syamsy Masembo Maros or in the other words the use of media as learning tool such as NHK channel can help students in learning vocabulary
