Abstract

Tumbuhan cemba merupakan salah satu tanaman endemik di Kabupaten Enrekang Sulawesi Selatan. Tumbuhan ini memiliki kandungan kimia diantaranya minyak atsiri, flavonoid, saponin, terpenoid dan alkaloid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengeksplorasi aktivitas daun cemba sebagai antifungi. Metode pada penelitian ini, digunakan bagian daun melalui tahap maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 70%. Hasil ekstraksi dilakukan pengujian aktivitas dengan metode difusi agar pada Candida albicans. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya aktivitas hambatan ekstrak etanol daun cemba terhadap Candida albicans pada konsentrasi 3% (9,37 mm) , 5% (10,8 mm) dan 7% (13,25 mm).

Abstract

Kopasanda (Chromolaena odorata L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang digunakan secara empiris oleh masyarakat sebagai obat luka bakar dan antioksidan. Tanaman kopasanda mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin, triterpenoid, alkaloid dan tanin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi toksisitas akut ekstrak etanol daun kopasanda (Chromolaena odorata L.) menggunakan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) dengan konsentrasi 10, 20, 30, 40 dan 50 bpj serta air laut sebagai kontrol. Pengamatan terhadap kematian Artemia salina Leach diamati selama 24 jam yang dilakukan setiap jam pada 6 jam pertama selanjutnya pada jam ke 12, 18 dan 24. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol daun kopasanda memiliki daya toksisitas yang tergolong sedang dengan nilai LC50 sebesar 101,62 bpj.

Abstract

Utilization of Arachis hypogaea L. which has the potential as antibacterial. This is due to the presence of compounds that have the potential to be antibacterial, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids and tannins. This study aims to determine the activity, formulation, and evaluation of preparations and to test the effectiveness of liquid soap preparations from ethanol extract of peanut outer shells against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Extraction was carried out by maceration method using 70% ethanol, testing for antibacterial activity using agar diffusion method and then formulated using surfactant variations and evaluating preparations including organoleptic, testing pH, specific gravity, viscosity, and foam height and testing the effectiveness of liquid soap. The results showed that the extract yield was 6.5%. The results of the One-Way ANOVA data analysis on the antibacterial activity test showed that there were differences between the various treatments with a value of p=0.000 (p>0.05). The evaluation results of soap show that the three formulas meet SNI standards. And for the results of the LSD analysis, the data on the effectiveness of liquid soap preparations showed that the value of p=0.334 means that Formula 1 and 2 are not significant (p>0.05) and formulas 2 and 3 are significant with p=0.042 (p<0.05). The effectiveness of liquid soap from the peanut outer shell waste extract was influenced by the surfactant concentration.

Abstract

Minyak dedak padi (Rice Bran Oil) mengandung senyawa antioksidan seperti oryzanol, tocopherol, tocotrienol yang dapat melawan radikal bebas dalam tubuh, namun bersifat hidrofobik yang sukar larut di dalam saluran pencernaan sehingga diperlukan sistem penghantaran seperti SNEDDS (Self Nanoemulsi Drug Delivery System) yang dapat meningkatkan kelarutan dan bioavailabilitas oral dari minyak dedak padi. Ekstraksi minyak dedak padi dilakukan dengan metode sokletasi menggunakan penyari n-heksan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi dan mengetahui karakteristik SNEDDS minyak dedak padi yang meliputi % transmitan, waktu emulsifikasi, pengamatan ukuran dan distribusi ukuran partikel. Hasil karakterisasi ketiga formula menghasilkan dispersi dengan nilai rata-rata % transmitan berkisar 35,23-47,62% dan menunjukkan waktu emulsifikasi yang kurang dari 1 menit, memiliki ukuran partikel kurang dari 100 nm yaitu diperoleh ukuran tetesan pada formula 1 sebesar 22,3 nm, formula 2 sebesar 22,9 nm dan formula 3 sebesar 24,4 nm serta menunjukkan keseragaman ukuran tetesan dan distribusi karena memiliki nilai polydispersity index (PI) tetesan nanoemulsi kurang dari 1.

Abstract

Soursop leaves are reported to have several active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids and fatty acids and soursop leaves are reported to have many pharmacological effects, one of which is for the treatment of blood cholesterol levels. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the active fraction of soursop (Annona muricata L.) ethanol extract on the reduction in total cholesterol levels of male mice (Mus musculus). The method used is to use 5 groups of male mice that were given 5 different treatments. Then proceed with a statistical test using LSD analysis. The results obtained showed that the effect of reducing total cholesterol of soursop leaf extract fraction at a dose of 100 mg/kg BB has no significant effect with positive control with a value of p = 0.501 > 0,05 and soursop leaf extract fraction dose of 150 mg/kgBB body weight with a value of p = 0.580 > 0.05. So, both are thought to be able to reduce total cholesterol levels which are almost the same as positive control.
