Abstract

The purpose of this research to determine the effect of supervision, work culture, trust, and attitudes to the performance of public elementary-school principal of West Jakarta city. To describe how much influence the effect of supervision, the culture, and trust to performance of elementary public principals of West Jakarta city. The research method used is the survey method with causal techniques. Whereas to analyze the existing or influence between one variable with another using variable path analysis. The population of West Jakarta city, and sampling procedure using the technique of sample random sampling as much as 80 principals were taken randomly. Results of the study found that the supervision of variable turned out to have effects directly to the performance; work culture also has effects directly to the performance, and trust has effects directly to the performance. Whereas trust variables prove to have direct influence from supervision and work culture. Based on the findings above, it can be concluded that the variations that occur on performance variables are supervision, work culture, and trust variables.

Abstract

This study aimed at evaluating the teacher professional development (Teachers’ PD) program in SMP Buin Batu, West Sumbawa. It was a program evaluation using descriptive method and CIPP model. Each teacher PD program data collected through participant communication using interview, observation, and document study and evaluated on it context, input, process, and product (CIPP). The data evaluation indicated that: 1) training need, objective and target are met all indicators 2) human resources, facilities, budget and policy met 96% of all indicators 3) planning, organizing, monitoring and feedback met 95% all indicators 4) achievement, sustainability and outcome achieved 87,5% of all indicators. The findings lead to recommendation to create dynamic mentoring program of new teacher, manage teachers ‘ownership to improve their English skill, involve PTNNT Training Department to improve teachers’ leadership skill, and implement professional learning transference.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the effects of leadership knowledge, work environment, work motivation to the performance of principals of Public Elementary Schools in Rokan Hilir Regency of Riau Province. This research uses the quantitative approach with survey method with causal approach and path analysis technique. This study analyzes the influence of one variable on other variables. The variables studied consist of two kinds, namely exogenous variables and endogenous variables. Exogenous variables have an influence on endogenous variables. While endogenous variables can also affect other endogenous variables. The affordable population which is simultaneously the sampling frame is the entire principals who served in Public Elementary Schools at Rokan Hilir Regency as many as 265 schools. The results of this study indicate that: (1) There is a positive direct effect of leadership knowledge on performance, (2) There is a positive direct effect work environment on performance, (3) There is a positive direct effect of work motivation on performance, (4) There is a positive direct effect of leadership knowledge on work motivation, (5) There is a positive direct effect of work environment on work motivation. Thus, the improvement of teachers’ performance can be achieved well if there is a strong effect from the leadership knowledge, work environment, and work motivation that are well built.  Keywords:   leadership knowledge, work environment, work motivation, and performance

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect supervision, school culture, and work commitment of job performance elementary school principal of administrative region II city west Jakarta. This research tried to answer problems about job performance with evidence increasing of service employee. The research was conducted on job performance employee involving of 110 elementary school principal had been selected from the target populations of 128 employees by using the quantitative approach with path analysis methods. The research of hypothesis testing show: (1) supervision had a direct effect positive on job performance; (2) school culture had a direct effect positive on job performance; (3) work commitment had a direct effect positive on job performance; (4) supervision had a direct effect positive on work commitment: (5) school culture had a direct effect positive on work commitment;. Therefore to improve the job performance school principal of administrative region II city west Jakarta. Need to increase supervision, school culture, and work commitment.

Abstract

The research aim is to find out policy formulation process, policy implementation; and the policy results on free education financing policy in Dompu Regency This research applied evaluation method by using Stake Countenance model The data were collected through questionnaires, interview, observation and documents. The result shown that policy formulation was based on (1) the rough enrollment rate of senior secondary education (2) the income per capita of the people Dompu; and (3) it was also supported by relevant regulations All of the steps in formulating the policy were followed as well as The policy contents contained stra tegic issues and actions, procedure, and goals or objectives The policy implementa tion process were based appropriately on method and guideline required The result of policy implementation, such as improvement of rough enrollment rate of senior secondary education was effectively achieved Before the implementation of the policy, the rough enrollment was 50,28% (2007) and it was 88,56% (2011)This per centage exceeded the national target 64,6% (2011); (2) it is decidable that the policy is responsive because since the policy is applied the parents pay nothing for the school fees; (3) the free of charge education policy implemented appropriately for all senior secondary students; (4) the policy is ineffective to the improvement teachers and staffs competencies, performance, and welfare, ineffective to the improvement students motivation and achievement, and parents participations became lower.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study the influence of leadership, happiness, interpersonal communication to normative commitment of public Junior High School teachers in Kampar Regency of Riau Province. This research uses a quantitative approach with the survey method. The sample of this research is 148 lecturers of civil servant status (PNS) at public Junior High Schools (SMP Negeri) located in Kampar Regency, which is collected from 4 schools, selected based on schools that get the highest National Examination (UN) and National Examination Integrity Index (IIUN) value at 4 sub-districts. The results of this study indicate that (1) leadership has a direct effect on the teacher's normative commitment, (2) happiness directly affects teacher's normative commitment, (3) interpersonal communication has a direct effect on teachers' normative commitment; (4) direct influence toward teacher interpersonal communication (5) happiness directly affects teacher's interpersonal communication, (6) leadership has a direct effect on teacher's happiness, so teacher's normative commitment can be improved if there is a good leadership behavior, happiness in workplace and intimacy in interpersonal communication. Especially for Kampar Regency of Riau Province, the region which is nicknamed “Riau Province' Veranda of Mecca”, to increase teachers' normative commitment is to facilitate the needs related to facilities and infrastructure, programs, activities that can improve science and practice values ​​to muslim teachers because based on the questionnaire results, the majority of teachers responded to the point that: "I pursue the teaching profession as worship to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala", with a total score of 707. The statements of the teachers are in line with the Vision of RPJPD (Regional Long Term Development Plan) of Kampar Regency Year 2005-2025, namely: "Kampar Regency a County of Culture, Empowerment, within the Religious Society in the year of 2025", and explained to the explanation of the meaning contained in the vision, in point three, : "All components of Kampar regency are determined to make the religious society, where all aspects of life that are run are always based on religious values, in accordance with Kampar community motto to create Kampar district as “Riau Province' Veranda of Mecca”. Abstract

The purposes of this study were to evaluate (1) background of character education program implementation on regulations, goal and function; (2) character education program input relate to school culture and teacher competencies; (3) education character program process relate to implementation,monitoring and evaluation, and responsibility; and (4) product, the result of program implementation.This program has been implemented since 2010 in Mataram city- West Nusa Tenggara Province. The results disclosed that the implementation of character education program was need improvement which is indicated by (1) regulations,goal and objective are fulfilled; (2) input component relate to school culture and teacher competencies are partially fulfilled; (3) process component relate to implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and responsibility are partially fulfilled; and (4) product, the result of program implementation relate to students achievement and the internalization of 18 character values are partially fulfilled. It is suggested to improve teacher competencies, family control and manage monitoring-evaluation process.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to examine the influence of leadership effectiveness, organizational culture, team cohesiveness, and organizational commitment on lecturers Organizational Citizenship Behavior in IKIP PGRI Pontianak in West Kalimantan. The sampling technique using Simple Random Sampling at 150 lecturers in IKIP PGRI Pontianak in West Kalimantan The analytical method used is path analysis. Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of quality management, organizational culture, and professionalism against the lecturer’s caring. The quantitative research approach using a survey method and technique of path analysis. The population was the lecturer of Bina Nusantara University and 166 lecturers were taken as samples and selected using stratified random sampling.  The result of data analysis showed that quality management, organizational culture, and professionalism have a direct positive effect on the lecturer’s caring. Quality management and organizational culture, have a direct positive effect on the professionalism and quality management, has a direct positive effect on the organizational culture. Therefore, to improve lecturer’s caring of Bina Nusantara University, the quality management, organizational culture, and professionalism should be improved.   Keywords: Quality management, organizational culture, professionalism, and lecturer’s                      caring.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine how the planning, organizing, implementing and  monitoring of the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) of EMP Malacca Strait SA in the field of education in Kepulauan Meranti Regency of Riau Province, held from June 2016 to September 2016. The research approach used was the qualitative approach (qualitative research). This qualitative research was more specifically directed to the use of the case study method. Data were collected from interviews, observations, study and documents. The data analysis used a method collated by Mathew B. Miles and Michael Huberment, which is called the interactive data analysis models by Burhan Bungin. Data were collected from interviews, observations, study and documents. The analysis consisted of three flows of activities that occurred simultaneously, namely induction, data presentation and conclusion/verification. The results showed that the planning of CSR education program was carried out together with stakeholders at the operation (collaborative), and this ensured that EMP MSSA’s CSR program was an integral part of the purpose or goal of the society at the local site. EMP MSSA organized the program by creating an internal special unit assigned to supervise the program; meanwhile, the special unit was under the control of the Communication Manager, who was assisted by the CSR Coordinator and CSR officer, who have competence and experience in handling CSR program. The CSR program of EMP MSSA was implemented in physical and non-physical forms, such as formal and non-formal education scholarships and education infrastructure assistance. This CSR program was conducted through ongoing assistance by the CSR Officers of EMP MSSA team so that all programs will benefit every year by involving the Community, the Company, and the Regional Government. The outcome of the CSR programs, both physical and non-physical education was directly very supportive of educational activities and the human resources in the District of the Kepulauan Meranti.Keywords: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and education sector
