Abstract

The study aimed to determine the use of biological liquid fertilizer on the growth of robusta coffee plants. Conducted at the Experimental Garden Department of Plantation Plant Cultivation, Pangkajene and Islands State Polytechnic, which lasted for 3 (three) months. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with no setting (P0), concentration of 100 ml (P1), concentration of 150 ml (P2), and concentration of 200 ml (P3). Based on the experimental results obtained, it can be concluded that the contribution of biological liquid fertilizer gives different changes to the growth of robusta coffee plant seeds that have been developed for 3 months. The application of fertilizer with a concentration of 200 ml resulted in the growth of the average plant height and stem diameter the best, namely the average plant height of 6.25 cm and the average stem diameter increase of 0.13 cm. While giving the concentration of 100 ml produces the highest average number of leaf growth, namely 7 strands.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat produksi lateks tanaman karet pada berbagai tingkat umur tanaman. Penelitian disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan pengamatan panen lateks pada berbagai umur tanaman (tahun) yang terdiri atas : 9, 10, 23, dan 37. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berat lateks sebelum dan setelah giling serta setelah pengasapan paling tinggi diperoleh pada tanaman berumur 37 tahun (tahun tanam 1979) yaitu masing-masing sebesar 238.48 kg, 221.05 kg, dan 218.58 g. Namun kadar kering karet (K3) terberat diperoleh pada tanaman berumur 23 tahun (tahun tanam 1983) yaitu 97%.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi cendawan endofit dan Trichoderma terhadap penyakit busuk pangkal batang di pembibitan. Penelitian ini terdiri dari beberapa tahapan, yaitu (1) penyiapan inokulum cendawan endofit dan Trichoderma spp.(2) deteksi tanah yang mengandung inokulum Phytophthora, (3) aplikasi cendawan endofit dan Trichoderma spp. Penelitian dilakukan dengan empat perlakuan yaitu cendawan endofit (A), cendawan endofit + Trichoderma (B), Trichoderma (C), dan kontrol (D). Parameter yang di amati adalah tanaman yang mati, tanaman yang masih bertunas dan tanaman yang masih berdaun.. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan aplikasi cendawan endofit + Trichoderma spp. memberikan hasil yang terbaik untuk pengendalian penyakit busuk pangkal batang lada di pembibitan.

Abstract

Micropropagation of vanilla was conducted through excised apical shoot tip and nodal segment as explants to determine the best concentration of growth hormone of cytokinin on multiple shoots production and regeneration. The explants were cultured on MS medium augmented with different concentration of N6-Benzyladenin and Kinetin. Sub culture was done four weeks after inoculation to regenerate more elongated shoots on the medium containing the same concentration of plant growth regulators as inoculation medium. After 60 days of cultured, multiple regenerated shoots were elongated and formed leaves and roots. The two cytokinins tested induced bud break to different degrees. Among the various concentrations tested N6-Benzyladenin at 1.5 mg.l-1 gave the highest mean shoot number (3.27/explant) and leaves (3.80/shoot) differentiation. While the lowest number of shoots and leaves were found on MS medium fortified with 1.0 mg.l-1 Kinetin. All cultures produced roots and the highest number of roots formed on the medium containing 2 mg.l-1 Kinetin.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of various sealing techniques on the growth of joint shoots on cocoa shoots. The studi was conducted in Tarengge Village, Wotu Subdistrict, East Luwu Regency, from February to April 2018. The study used a simple statistical analysis method with a Randomized Block Design (RBD) method, which calculated the mean (average) of each experimental treatment consists of 3 levels of treatment, namely: using the technique of pocong hood (P1), tie hood (P2), and ordinary hood (P3). The results of the experiment show that the use of various sealing techniques can affect the growth of joint buds in the top grafting of cocoa plants. The tie mask technique yielded the best results for shoot length (11.62 cm) and number of leaves (4.67 strands) on the bud buds compared to other hood techniques.
