Abstract

The lack of utilization of waxy banana peel waste in Merangin District is a sourceof environmental pollution. Wax banana peel waste has the potential as a liquidorganic fertilizer. This study aims to determine the effect of giving liquid organicfertilizer from wax banana peel waste on the growth of red spinach plants and todetermine the dose of liquid organic fertilizer from waxy banana peel waste whichgives the best results for the growth of red spinach plants. The study used aCompletely Randomized Design (CRD) of one factor, consisting of 6 treatmentsnamely P0 (0 ml / control), P1 (10 ml), P2 (20 ml), P3 (30 ml), P4 (40 ml) and P5(50 ml) with 4 repetitions. The parameters of this study were plant height, numberof leaves, leaf surface area and root length. Data were analyzed using varianceanalysis and continued with Duncan test 5%. The results showed that liquid organicfertilizer of wax banana peel waste had a significant effect on the number of leaves,but did not give effect to plant height, leaf surface area and root length of redspinach. Liquid organic fertilizer of wax banana peel waste 20 ml dose gives thebest results on the number of red spinach plant leaves.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang eksplorasi dan visualisasi morfologi jenis moluska air tawar (gastropoda dan bivalvia) di sungai Batang Merangin telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengobservasi spesies Gastropoda dan Bivalvia di Sungai Batang Merangin. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuadran. Ada tiga plot berukuran 1x1 m yang digunakan disetiap stasiun, dan semua specimen moluska yang ditemukan di dalam kuadran dikumpulkan dan diletakkan pada wadah berlabel. Moluska yang telah dikumpulkan, dibersihkan, diidentifikasi dan dikarakterisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 3 spesies gastropoda dan 2 spesies bivalvia. Spesies tersebut adalah Terebia granifera, Melanoides tuberculata, Thiara sp, Rectidens sumatrensis and Pilsbryoconcha exillis.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the population abundance, species and habitat of semah fish in Napal Licin River, Merangin District, Jambi Province. This study was conducted in March 2019. Data collection was carried out using the Purposive Random Sampling method in four deliberately determined stations, there are Pulau Kemang, Beringin Sanggul, Bukit Punjung and Sakai. These stations are villages that located in the Napal Licin watershed. The fishs sample were caught using nets, then it were identified in the laboratory. Observation of the semah fish habitat was carried out directly. Water quality parameters ware measured in the site and laboratory. The results showed that population abundance of semah fish at the Napal Licin river was very low, the abundance in the station 1 was 0.03 ind /m2, station 3 was 0.06 ind /m2, whereas at stations 2 and 4 the abundance were 0, 00 ind/m2 because there are no semah fish found. The frequency of attendance  category of semah fish at the Napal Licin river was very rare, at station 1 the frequency of attendance was 5.5%, station 3 was 11.1% while in station 2 and 4 the frequency of attendance were 0%. The Semah fish species that obtained only 1 species, Tor Tambroides. The degradation of semah fish habitat at the Napal Licin River was mainly caused by the illegal gold mining activities.

Abstract

Sungai memiliki peran penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Sungai adalah tempat hidup untuk jumlah keanekaragaman hayati, tetapi saat ini sungai sudah mulai tercemar akibat aktivitas manusia. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas sungai Murak berdasarkan keanekaragaman plankton. Selain itu, untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pencemaran perairan dan mengetahui tingkat pencemaran perairan dengan didasarkan pada indikator biologis, fisika, dan kimia. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di sungai Murak kabupaten Merangin. Identifikasi plankton dan analisis air dilakukan di Laboratorium Pendidikan Biologi. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan ada 24 genus plankton yang ditemukan, dari 24 genus tersebut terdapat 7 genus yang masuk de dalam kategori indikator pencemaran yaitu Nitzschia sp, Chlamydomonas, Spirogyra , Chlorococcum, Euglena, Oscillatoria, Pyrobotris dan Anabaena.. Dan berdasarkan indeks keanekaragaman (H’) berada pada nilai 1-3 sehingga ditarik kesimpulan bahwa perairan sungai Murak kabupaten Merangin telah tercemar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity of ants in Hutan Adat Guguk. Research type applied is descriptive quantitative research. This study was conducted on April 2018, in two stages. The first stages is sampling which is done in the Hutan Adat Guguk by making  four plots.  The second stage is identification of ants carried out by purposive sampling technique, which is by considering the type of vegetation and altitude. The method used is bait trap, pitfall trap, and hand collecting. Collected samples were analyzed with Shannon-Wiener diversity  index (H`), index of richeness (DMg), and evennes index (E). The result showed the ants with 2633 individuals were clasified in to 22 species, consisting of 7 genera and 3 subfamilies. The result of data analysis showed the value of the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H`) is 2,21 (medium criteria), index of richeness (DMg) is 17,05 (high criteria), and evennes index (E) is 0,41 (stable criteria).

Abstract

This research was motivated by the learning outcomes of students in MTS NegeriPamenang Integrated Science learning, most of them are still under the classicalKKM set by the school, this shows that the Integrated Science learning process hasnot run optimally. This study aimed to improve Integrated Science learningoutcomes for grade VII MTS N Pamenang students with the application of SPICS(Student Centered, Problem Based, Interest and Confident and Satisfaction)learning models, in class VII MTS N Pamenang in the 2018/2019 school year. Thietype of research was classroom action research, where the subjects in this studywere students of class VII MTS N Pamenang consisted of to 28 people, while theobject in this study was SPICS Learning Model (Student Centered, Problem Based ,Interest, Confident and Satisfaction). The procedure in this study consisted of thestages of planning, implementing actions, observation and evaluation andreflection. Data collection form of student and teacher activity observation sheetsand evaluation test used. Students have received grades according to the KKM,meaning that action research in the second cycle has achieved a minimum target of75% achievement of students achieving KKM. Based on the research resultsobtained in the first cycle the average test score of 73.03 cycle with a percentageof completeness 64% or 19 students who graduated according to the defined KKMthat is 75 in the second cycle found that student learning outcomes increased to77.57. Based on the data analysis, the research can be concluded that by usingSPICS (Student Centered, Problem Based, Interest, Confident and Satisfaction)learning models, it can improve the learning outcomes of class VII MTS NPamenang in the 2018/2019 school year.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis pakan yang paling disukai oleh beberapa strain  kecoak jerman dan mengetahui ada atau tidaknya perbedaan kesukaan pakan antar strain kecoak jerman, yaitu strain rentan VCRU-WHO, PLZ-PDG, GFA-JKT, dan KRSA-BDG. Pakan yang digunakan, yaitu selai nanas, stroberi, kacang dan cokelat. Data yang diamati yaitu frekuensi kehadiran kecoak jerman dan jumlah pakan yang dikonsumsi. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa jenis pakan yang paling banyak dikunjungi oleh kecoak jerman strain VCRU-WHO, PLZ-PDG dan KRSA-BDG yaitu selai nanas dengan rata-rata kunjungan masing-masing 17, 18,50, dan 17,25 kali kunjungan, sedangkan pada strain GFA-JKT yaitu selai stroberi dengan rata-rata kunjungan sebanyak 10,50 kali. Pakan yang paling banyak dikonsumsi oleh kecoak strain VCRU-WHO, PLZ-PDG dan KRSA-BDG yaitu selai nanas dengan rata- rata bobot pakan yang dikonsumsi masing-masing 128 mg, 69 mg dan 104 mg, sedangkan GFA-JKT lebih banyak mengkonsumsi selai stroberi dengan bobot rata-rata 45,50 mg. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan kesukaan pada kecoak strain GFA-JKT yang lebih menyukai selai stroberi  dibandingkan strain lain (VCRU-WHO, PLZ-PDG, dan KRSA-BDG) yang lebih menyukai nanas. Hasil analisis regresi menghasilkan persamaan y = 2,19x + 50,37 dan nilai R2 = 0,27 atau r = 0,52,  sementara nilai P < 0,05. Hasil di atas menunjukkan bahwa ada korelasi positif tetapi tidak signifikan antara frekuensi kehadiran dengan jumlah konsumsi pakan.

Abstract

Research about exploration of potential flora as an ornamental plant in the Talalang Jaya Waterfall area is another aspect of forest product utilization. The forest plant has the potential as an ornamental plant is currently in great demand by the community. In addition to decorating homes or garden filler elements, ornamental plants have developed as export commodities. Exploration activities are proclaiming one of the first steps in the efforts of the conservative tumbling which began to be threatened by the great auction of building auctioneers and the development of industrial plants. This research is descriptive explorative with the roaming method represented randomly. Exploration of potential plants of seamless tanks in the area of Talalang Jaya Waterfall is obtained as many as 14 types, namely: Sonerila oblique, Sonerila pulchella, Begonia sp, Dracaena surculosa, Macodes petola, Agrostophyllum sp, Spathoglottis sp, Costus speciosa sp, Amomum apiculatum, Aglaonema, Alocasia sp, Scindapsus sp, Homalonema sp, dan Dendrobium.

Abstract

IPA terbentuk dan berkembang melalui suatu proses ilmiah, yang juga harus dikembangkan pada peserta didik sebagai pengalaman bermakna yang dapat digunakan sebagai bekal perkembangan diri selanjutnya Biologi sebagai salah satu bidang IPA menyediakan berbagai pengalaman belajar untuk memahami konsep dan proses sains. Keterampilan proses sains digunakan agar mereka menjelajahi dan memahami alam sekitar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiry terbimbing. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan memanfaatkan 4 (empat) tahap dalam PTK yaitu Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan Tindakan, Observasi, dan Refleksi. Pelaksanaan Tindakan dilakukan sebanyak 2 (dua) Siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari 2 (dua) pertemuan proses pembelajaran 1 (satu) pertemuan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan keterampilan proses sains dalam pembelajaran biologi sebanyak 17,57% begitupun hasil bejar siswa menunjukkan peningkatan sebanyak 28,67%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiry terbimbing dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belaja siswa.

Abstract

This research is motivated by result of integrated science learning student of classVII still have not reached the KKM that is 75. One of the learning models that canimprove student learning outcomes is to use the TPS type cooperative learningmodel. This study aims to find out and describe the Think Pair Share (TPS) type ofcooperative learning better than conventional models on integrated sciencelearning outcomes for grade VIIIstudent of SMP Negeri 22 Merangin in 2018/2019academic year. This type of research is experimental research, the research designis post test only control design. The population in this study were all eight gradestudent of SMP 22 Merangin in the 2018/2019 school year consisting of 2 classes.The sampling technique in this study is total sampling, and to determine theexperimental class and control class using simple random sampling. Datacollection technigues are test techniques, trought essay tests totaling 8 items. Dataanalysis techniques used to test hypotheses are t-test. The result of the study, in theexperimental class obtained an average value of 78,6, while in the control classobtained an average value of 75,05, then the data was analyzed using the t-test.Hypothesis test results are obtained, t-count=1,803 an t-table=1,689. Because tcount > t-table then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded thatthe integrated science learning outcomes using cooperative learning model typeThink Pair Share (TPS) is better than using conventional learning model class VIIISMP Negeri 22 Merangin in the 2018/2019 school year.
