Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a number of schools and colleges to temporarily close. Learning activities in a number of schools are carried out through online mode (in the network) and eliminate face-to-face learning. The implementation of online learning in Indonesia, including in Sarolangun Regency, especially in the State Junior High School, Kecamatan Bathin VIII, conducts online learning. This study aims to determine the perception of Integrated Science teachers towards online learning by using the WhatsApp application at the State Junior High School, Kecamatan Bathin VIII, Kabupaten Sarolangun, Provinsi Jambi. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study with a survey method. Data collection techniques in this study used questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation instruments. The population in this study amounted to 10 junior high school teachers in Kecamatan Bathin VIII, Kabupaten Sarolangun, Provinsi Jambi. Based on the overall results of the study, it was concluded that the perception of Integrated Science teachers towards online learning by using the WhatsApp application at the State Junior High School, Kecamatan Bathin VIII, Kabupaten Sarolangun, Provinsi Jambi, was in the good category. With practicality 71.88% good category, ability to use the internet and communication tools in learning 78.12% good category, understanding of the use of whatsapp applications in delivering learning materials 78.89% good category, giving lesson assignments 83.13% good category and evaluating lesson assignments 69.17% in the poor category. So it can be said that the perception of Integrated Science teachers towards online learning at SMP Negeri VIII is in good category. Abstract

The lack of utilization of palm oil cake waste in Merangin Regency has become a source of pollution. Palm oil cake waste has the potential as a medium for Hermetia illucens production. This study aims to determine the effect of using Hermetia illucens from palm oil cake waste as an alternative feed on the growth of Clarias batrachus L and to determine the best dose of feed from oil palm cake waste Hermetia illucens on the growth of Clarias batrachus L . This study use a completely randomized design (CRD) factor, consisted of 5 treatments, P A (100% Pellet/control), P B (25% Hermetia illucens and 75% pellets), P C (50% Hermetia illucens and 50% pellets) , P D (75% Hermetia illucens and 25% pellets), and P E (100% Hermetia illucens ) with 5 repetitions. The parameters of this study were weight growth, body length growth, and water pH. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with Duncan's test 5%. The results showed that Hermetia illucens feed from palm oil cake waste had a significant effect on the growth of body weight and body length in catfish. Hermetia illucens feed from palm oil cake waste at a dose of 50% Hermetia illucens & 50% pellets gave the highest results on the growth of body weight and body length in Clarias batrachus L.

Abstract

This research is motivated by there is not yet biological teaching material which can be used as support for student while studyng at home during the Pandemic Covid 19. This study aims to produce and describe the process of developing an Atlas of Pioneer Plant Diversity as Biology Teaching Materials for Class X SMA which is valid and practical. This research is development research using 4-D model which includes define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subjects of this research consist of 5 validators, for the practicality test carried out by 2 biology teachers at SMA N 17 Merangin. The data from this research are the results of the validity and practicality of the atlas, then the data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The results of this research is that a very valid pioneering plat Atlas has been produced from the aspect of content feasibility, language, presentation, and graphics with a validity value of 94%. The Pioneer Plant Atlas produced has also been very practical in terms of ease of use, learning time, and attractiveness with an average value of 3.88. So it can be concluded the pioneering Plant Atlas has been produced is valid and practical

Abstract

Textbooks used are few in number so that they do not attract students interest in learning. The high level of diversity of living things and the number of similar species make it difficult for students to distinguish primates from one species to another without learning media. Moreover teacher have never developed media such as puzzle in the learning process such as puzzle to increase student interest in learning biology. Puzzle media on primates material as a learning medium for biology class X SMA Negeri 17 Merangin. This research instrument uses a validation and practicality questionnaire. This a product in form of a valid and practical puzzle in terms value of 98% (valid) and was declared value of 4,00 (practical) by teacher. So, puzzle media on primate material has been declared valid and practical.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations carried out in SMP Negeri 28 Merangin in the classroom VIIIshows that most of the learning outcomes of class VIII students have not reached the Minimum Completeness Criteria (MCC). The purpose of this study was to identify and describe the applicaation of the Guided Note Taking method with Mind Mapping media to improve integrated science learning outcomes.Classroom Action Research with a sample of 22 students consisting of 12 male students and 10 female students.This researcher uses two cycles and haas four staages, namely: 1) Planning, 2) Implementation, 3) Observation, the last stage is 4) Reflection. The results showed that the percentage of learning activities in the first cycle of student learning activities was 77% while student activities from cycle I to cycle II obtaained an increase of 13%. So student learning activities are said to be good because they have reached the success criteria of 90%. Integrated science learning outcomes with the subject of the human excretory system, the average score of students in the first cycle is 69.86 with a completeness percentage of 55% then followed by the second cycle the student average score reaches 80.72 with a classical percentage of 87%. Cycle II student learning outcomes have reached the Minimum Completeness Criteriaa(MCC) that has been set is 70.00 with a percentage of completeness 87% of students succeedIt was concluded that student learning outcomes increased.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the unavailability of interesting learning media. So far, teachers only use textbooks and worksheets, so researchers want to develop comics as a support for integrated science teaching and learning activities at SMP Negeri 42 Merangin. This study aims to describe the process of developing comics on the material of the interaction of living things with the environment and to find out which comics on the material of interactions of living things with the environment are valid and practical. This type of research is a development research that uses a 4-D model which includes the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The subject of this research is the Integrated Science teacher at SMP Negeri 42 Merangin. Based on the results of the research, a product in the form of learning comics was produced. The resulting learning comics were declared very valid by the validator from the aspect of the feasibility of content, language, presentation, and graphics with a validity value of 91.5%. The resulting learning comics were also stated to be very practical by the teacher both in terms of ease of use, learning time, and attractiveness with a score of 3.7. So it can be concluded that the learning comics on the interaction of living things with the environment for class VII SMP/MTs have been declared valid and practical.

Abstract

The research is motivated by there not any of development media for the snake games to explained the material for the phylum echinoderms at SMA N 13 Merangin, the media used were pictures and materials in textbooks. The learning process is still monotonous, the teacher has not developed interesting learning media such as the snake game media. This makes learning less enjoyable, thus pupils are bored and tired during the learning process, fur thermore, they have a low level of interestion learning. To get arownd this, the researchers designed a snake- themed game using material from the echinoderm phylum . This study aims to produce biology learning media in the form of snake games on material for the echinoderm phylum valid and practical in class X SMA. The study is a development study that use a four-stage paradigm that comprises define, design, develop, and disseminate. The purpose of this study is to test the validity of 1 SMA N teacher 13 Merangin and 4 STKIP YPM Bangko lecturers using 5 validators. A questionnaire on the validity of snake games media and a practical questionnaire for instructors were used as study instruments, and the data were then analyzed descriptively. The snake game media product was found to be both legitimate and pratical based on the finding of this analysis. The snake games learning media is declared valid based on validation with 5 validators with revisions and repair. With an average material validation score of 3.16 with a very valid category, language validation 3.66 including a valid intense category, presentation validation 3.70 including a very valid category, and media validation 3.80 including valid intense a category, then overall from each validation get average of 3.57 with a very valid category. The snake game learning media was declared practical based on the results of the practicality test using a teacher's practicality questionnaire. The average is 3.26 with the practical category.

Abstract

The practice of microteaching aims to improve students' abilities as prospective teachers in conducting teaching simulations in the classroom. This study aims to improve the skills of explaining material by students who carry out teaching simulations. This type of research is classroom action which consists of planning, implementing, observing and evaluating activities along with reflection. The research was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle was carried out 2 times of teaching simulations. Data were analyzed qualitatively. The research subjects are students of biology education study program who teach microteaching courses. Based on the research that has been done, it was found that the increase in the ability to explain the material by students in cycle 1 was 71%, while in cycle 2 it was 81.5% with a percentage increase of 10.5%. From the data obtained, it can be concluded that this research can improve the ability of students to explain material skills in microteaching courses.

Abstract

Based on research observations conducted by researchers at SMPN 50 Merangin, they still use the LKS book as a practical guide book at school. To overcome this problem, the research developed a practical guide for the respiratory system material based on guide inquiry. This study aims to produce an integrated science praticum guide based on guide in Quiry on the respiratory system material for class VIII students SMPN 50 so that is suitable to be used as a learning medium and also to produce an integrated science practicum guide based on Guide Inquiry on the design (planning), develop (development), and disseminate (Spread). In this study there were 5 (five) validators, 2 (two) people who will validate the practicum guide material the will be developed, namely 1 lecturer from the Biology study program and I science teacher at SMP N 50 Merangin. 1 (one) lecturer in the Indonesian language study program who will validate the language. 1 (one) STKIP YPM Bangko lecturer from mathematics study program who will validate the graph on display of the practical guide. The results of this study resulted in a product in the from of guided inquiry based practicum guide on respiratory system material. The feasibility of the practical guide on respiratory system material is proven from the results of the validator’s assessment that the average content feasibility obtained in 98,44% language is 87,5% presentation is 91,6% and graphic is 100%. With an average overall percentage of 94% (very valid).
