Abstract

Perkembangan dan pertumbuhan gigi sering mengalami gangguan pada saat erupsi. Gigi yang tidak berhasil erupsi dengan sempurna dan terpendam dalam rahang dengan posisi yang abnormal disebut impaksi. Frekuensi impaksi gigi yang paling sering terjadi adalah gigi molar ketiga rahang bawah. Impaksi gigi molar ketiga rahang bawah juga dapat mengganggu proses pengunyahan dan sering menyebabkan berbagai komplikasi, maka dari itu diperlukan pencabutan. Upaya mengeluarkan gigi impaksi terutama pada molar ketiga rahang bawah dilakukan dengan tindakan pembedahan yang disebut dengan odontektomi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan informasi gambaran komplikasi pada pasien yang telah dilakukan odontektomi di RSGM X Bandung. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian observational yang dirancang secara deskriptif dengan metode cross sectional dan pengambilan data secara retrospektif. Pengambilan data Rekam Medis pasien pada Januari - Desember 2018 di RSGM X Bandung dengan hari kontrol pada hari ke 7. Hasil penelitian ini terdapat beberapa komplikasi post odontektomi gigi molar ketiga rahang bawah seperti trismus 1,62%, bengkak 4,22%, parestesia 0,32%, dry socket 1,94%, perdarahan 1,62%, sakit 17,2%, fraktur 0%. Komplikasi post odontektomi yang terjadi di RSGM X Bandung pada hari kontrol hari ke 7 setelah dilakukan odontektomi sebanyak 25,5%.

Abstract

Pola hidup dari tokoh masyarakat akan menjadi panutan bagi warga masyarakatnya, begitu juga dengan kesehatan rongga mulut yang dimilikinya. Desa X mengalami krisis air bersih sehingga membuat warga desa menggunakan air seadanya untuk melakukan kegiatan sehari-hari. Sebagian besar warga Desa X hanya dapat bekomunikasi menggunakan bahasa daerah mereka dan memiliki kesulitan dalam berbahasa Indonesia. Artikel ini disusun untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai kesehatan serta kebersihan rongga mulut tokoh masyarakat di Desa X, Kabupaten Indramayu dengan harapan di kemudian hari desa ini dapat menjadi perhatian bersama. Digunakan disain potong lintang/cross sectional untuk melihat kondisi kesehatan serta kebersihan rongga mulut tokoh masyarakat Desa X, Kabupaten Indramayu. Kesehatan rongga mulut dinilai dengan index DMF-T (Decay, Missing, Filled Tooth), kebersihan rongga mulut dinilai dengan index PHP (Patient Hygiene Performance Index). Studi melibatkan 14 tokoh masyarakat desa X, yang terdiri dari 6 (enam) pamong desa dan 9 (sembilan) kader PKK. Pemeriksaan dilakukan pada tempat dengan pencahayaan cukup. Pemeriksaan kesehatan rongga mulut hanya dilakukan sekali, sedangkan pemeriksaan kebersihan mulut dilakukan selama 3 (tiga) bulan berturut-turut. Setiap setelah pemeriksaan, para tokoh masyarakat diberikan edukasi mengenai cara menyikat gigi. Kesehatan rongga mulut tokoh masyarakat Desa X Kabupaten Indramayu adalah 10,4 dengan prevalensi karies 100%. Kebersihan rongga mulut tokoh masyarakat Desa X Kabupaten Indramayu pada bulan pertama adalah 3,4 (buruk), bulan ke-2 adalah 2,9 (sedang), dan bulan ke-3 adalah 2,3 (sedang). Perlu dilakukan pendekatan lebih mendalam dan rutin dengan menggunakan bahasa daerah setempat untuk memberikan edukasi kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada tokoh masyarakat Desa X Kabupaten Indramayu.

Abstract

Irigasi saluran akar merupakan tahapan penting dalam menunjang keberhasilan perawatan saluran akar. Mikroorganisme paling resisten dan sering ditemukan pada kasus setelah dilakukan perawatan saluran akar adalah Enterococcus faecalis, dengan prevalensi berkisar 24-77%. Chlorhexidine digluconate dengan konsentrasi 2% digunakan untuk larutan irigasi saluran akar yang efektif, namun tidak memiliki kemampuan untuk melarutkan jaringan nekrotik. Cuka sari apel memiliki kandungan asam organik yaitu asam asetat dapat yang dapat bertindak sebagai antimikroba yang dapat menyebabkan hilangnya integritas sel. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh antibakteri, daya hambat, kadar hambat minimum, dan kadar bunuh minimum sediaan cuka sari apel terhadap bakteri Enterococcus faecalis dengan Chlorhexidine digluconate 2% sebagai kelompok kontrol terhadap pertumbuhan Enterococcus faecalis. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi suatu dasar pengembangan cuka sari apel sebagai bahan irigasi saluran akar dan dapat mengetahui aktivitas daya hambat optimum dari sediaan cuka sari apel terhadap bakteri Enterococcus faecalis secara in vitro.Desain penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental labotratorik secara in vitro menggunakan metode difusi cakram (Tes Kirby-Bauer) dengan pengamatan zonahambat. Data yang diukur adalah diameter zona hambat dari pertumbuhan bakteri Enterococcus faecalis dengan menggunakan jangka sorong dalam satuan milimeter (mm). Kadar bunuh bakteri pada penelitian ini diadaptasi dari metode yang dikembangkan oleh CLSI (Clinical Laboratory Standart Institute, 2014) dengan modifikasi.Diameter zona hambat cuka apel meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan konsentrasi, bahkan pada konsentrasi minimal 25% dapat membunuh bakteriEnterococcus faecalis Potensi antibakteri cuka apel setara dengan Chlorhexidine digluconate 2%.

Abstract

Acrylic resin dentures are a type of denture that is often used. At present the use of disinfectants to clean dentures from microorganisms, such as sodium hypochlorite and green betle leaves. Sodium hypochlorite contains chlorine, and green betle leaf extract contains tannins that containable to provide color changes in artificial teeth. The purpose of this study was to study the change in color on the hot polymerization acrylic plate after soaking with sodium hypochlorite solution and green betle leaf extract (Piper betle Linn). This study was a pre-post test control group design, the sample was heat-cured resin acrylic base plate and divided into 3 treatment groups: a group immersed in sodium hypochlorite, extract of green betel leaf and control group with aquades. The discoloration measurement was using Spectrophotometer. The sample was immersed for 15 days. Data were analyzed by paired T-test, followed by One way Anova and LSD. The results showed that there were significant color changes in the 2 treatment groups, while the control group was not significant. The mean of discoloration after immersion with Sodium Hypochlorite was 0.668 + 0.018, green betle leaf extract 30% was 0.625 + 0.024, and aquades was 0.534 + 0.0224. Color changes on heat-cured resin acrylic base plate occur by the presence of chlorine in sodium hypochlorite and tannin contained in the green betel leaf extract. This research concluded that immersion of heat-cured resin acrylic plate in sodium hypochlorite solution and 30% betle leaf extract may cause discoloration.

Abstract

Abstract. Introduction: The deciduous tooth period is an important period in child development. Premature loss of deciduous teeth is defined as the loss of deciduous teeth before they approach the eruption of permanent teeth. The prevalance of premature loss offered in several studies obtained was between 4.3% and 42.6%. Method: An 10 years-old-boy accompanied by her mother came to RSGMP Unjani, complaints of lower right nack teeth missing because they have to extracted since 3 mouth ago. Tooth have been extracted because of caries. Result: Result of clinical examination was found premature loss teeth 75, 74, and 85. The space in Moyers analysis was +0.2 mm in region 3 and +0.1 mm in region 4. Patient was treated with a fungsional removable-space-maintainer on teeth 75, 74, and 85. Conclusion: The results of premature loss is excess space in the arch, so to prevent further occlusion abnormalities in child’s growth and development process, we need a special appliance that is used to protect the space due to premature loss of deciduous teeth. Abstract

Pendahuluan: Mesiodens merupakan salah satu variasi dari supernumerary teeth yaitu adanya gigi tambahan yang terletak pada garis tengah diantara kedua incisivus sentral. Mesiodens umumnya berukuran kecil, berbentuk conical atau peg shaped, dan dapat menyebabkan diastema. Prevalensi mesiodens ditemukan berkisar antara 0,15% - 3,9%. Mesiodens dianggap sebagai anomali gigi yang paling umum yang memengaruhi gigi permanen dan jarang ditemukan pada gigi sulung. Kasus : Pasien laki-laki, usia 9 tahun, mengalami gigi berlebih pada gigi depan atas kanan dan menyebabkan giginya terlihat berjejal. Pemeriksaan intraoral menunjukkan anak dalam fase gigi campuran awal. Hubungan oklusi molar kiri Kelas II, molar kanan Kelas I, overbite sebesar 6 mm, overjet 7 mm dan terdapat crowding anterior maksila dan mandibula. Terdapat sisa akar pada gigi 52,53, karies profunda pada gigi 54,55,64,75,74,73,84,85, karies media pada gigi 83. Pemeriksaan radiograf periapikal menunjukkan terdapat mesiodens pada palatal gigi 11. Berdasarkan penilaian risiko karies menurut AAPD, pasien memiliki risiko karies tinggi. Penatalaksanaan Kasus : Perawatan awal adalah ekstraksi sisa akar gigi 52 dan setelah 8 bulan kemudian dilakukan ekstraksi mesiodens. Pembahasan : Mesiodens merupakan gigi supernumerary yang paling umum ditemukan. Terdapat sekitar 80% dari gigi supernumerary yang mengalami mesiodens. Etiologi mesiodens tidak diketahui secara pasti namun dapat disebabkan oleh faktor genetik, faktor lingkungan, kelainan perkembangan, dan hiperaktifitas dental lamina. Simpulan : Perawatan mesiodens tergantung pada tipe, posisi serta efek potensial pada gigi yang berdekatan sehingga membutuhkan rencana perawatan yang komprehensif. Ekstraksi merupakan salah satu tindakan yang sering dilakukan dalam perawatan mesiodens.

Abstract

Age is one of the important parts of the identification process, which is an requirement in legal framework, criminal investigation, and, in health care, to provide significant information for diagnosis and treatment planning. Age estimation is a major study in forensic, especially when the information related to the deceased is unavailable. Dental is one of the strong variables which could be used in estimating the age of living or deceased. Dental age estimation methods were mainly based on the changes in tooth development which influenced by diverse internal and external factor. Therefore, studies of dental age estimation of various population were resulted different discrepancies. This paper reviews about studies of dental age estimation specifically in Indonesian population, including the population age, age estimation methods, study sample, and studies’ findings.

Abstract

Alcoholic beverages can be consumed in any group age, and it may be consumed by an individual using denture. Fluid absorption by heat-cured acrylic resin as a material of a denture base was able to cause an increase in its surface roughness. Absorption of an organic solvent such as the ethanol in an alcoholic beverage(s) could even increase the effect. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of alcohol beverages on surface roughness of heat-cured acrylic resin denture base. Samples (n=24) were prepared from heat-cured acrylic resin (25x25x5 mm). They were divided into 4 groups and the pre-test surface roughness was measured. Samples of each group were immersed for 10 minutes into the solution (distilled water as the control group, beer, wine, and whiskey as the test groups). After stored in artificial saliva for 23 hours, the samples were immersed into the solution, completing a period of 24 hours. This procedure was performed for 7 consecutive days and the post-test surface roughness was measured. Data were statistically analyzed using the Kruskal-Walis test. There was a significant difference in surface roughness measurement before and after the immersion (p<0.05). Whiskey was most affecting the surface roughness of heat-cured acrylic resin denture base. Abstract

Dental material that is often used in dentistry is alginate. Alginate molding material has imbibition properties that absorb water when it comes into contact with water so that the shape is easier to expand and syneresis is the loss of water content through evaporation, causing shrinkage of the alginate mold when left too long in the open air. It is recommended that the printed product be disinfected first to avoid cross infection. One of the herbs that has antibacterial properties is noni. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in immersion and spraying techniques with 0.5% sodium hypochlorite and noni extract 50%, 25% and 12% for 5 minutes. Data were analyzed by ANOVA test. The conclusion of this study is that there is a change in the stability of the dimensions of the alginate mold in the AB (anteroposterior) and BC distance inter junction techniques, at concentrations of 12% and 25%, experiencing a higher increase compared to the concentration of 50% but still within the clinical tolerance limit ie below 0.5%. The spraying technique has a smaller percentage change compared to the immersion technique. There is a change in dimensional stability of alginate molds with a significant difference in the immersion and spraying technique, soaking causes an increase indimensional changes compared to the spraying technique.

Abstract

Introduction: The period of deciduous teeth is an important period in child development. Damage to deciduous teeth that occur and cannot be treated conservatively will cause premature decay of teeth which is often called premature loss. A space maintainer is a passive tool used to maintain dental arches due to premature loss of deciduous teeth. Method: An 11-year-old girl accompanied by her mother came to RSGMP Unjani in 2018 with complaints of lower right back teeth missing because they have removed. The patient's mother is worried that her replacement teeth will not grow properly. Intraoral examination revealed tooth loss 85. The study model was analyzed using the Moyers method. Results: Analysis of the lower jaw model showed excess space. Patients were treated with a semi-fixed band and loop space maintainer on teeth 85. Conclusion: Premature loss results in excess space in the arch, so as to prevent further occlusion abnormalities in the child's growth and development process, we need a special tool used to maintain space due to premature loss of deciduous teeth.
