Abstract

The development of technology and information nowadays is very fast, especially in communication. The use of social media is increasingly mushrooming not only to interact and communicate but also to use social media as a manifestation of other personalities, one of which is what Korean pop (Kpop) fans do. They create a small community with fellow Korean pop idol group (Kpop) fans then use another name or the alter ego of each idol character he idolizes where they can mingle, communicate and even wage war between fans without knowing each other's real personal data because utilize new media to interact with each other. The purpose of this study is to conduct content analysis in what happens to the use of ego- counter accounts via the Twitter social media platform. In addition, the research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, namely the analysis is carried out by interpreting messages or tweets on the Twitter platform by the alter ego account.

Abstract

Jurgen Habermas is one of social science scholars in Frankfurt school. He has main focus to manifest deliberative democracy in which public participation is regarded as the rights of communication. Moreover, it is supposed to value justice, eleminate destructive domination, and manifest consencus. The research method employs descriptive analysis and It employs Habermas communication theory consisted of 1) basic communication, 2) political communication, 3) press system, and 4) communication competence. The result shows that the theory holds the principal of human rights, the technique of discussion and the implementation of social network either cultural or structural. The conclusion of this research is Habermas avoids communication exploiting human and proposing a certain kind of communication. Therefore, those orientations produce equality, high value of human rights, and transformative communication.

Abstract

In the current COVID-19 pandemic, social media and its influencers have a big role in disseminating information. As an influencer, @dr.tirta uses it to educate on COVID-19 prevention through the content he creates. Informal education through social media that occurs on the basis of a sense of care and responsibility to followers on Instagram. This study uses a qualitative content analysis method according to Holsti. This study aims to look at the content about COVID-19 education uploaded to the @dr.tirta Instagram account about COVID-19 prevention education. The results in this study indicate that the COVID-19 prevention education content created by the @dr.tirta account has two categories, namely the COVID-19 information category and vaccine information. Uploading content with @dr.tirta's direct and firm style of delivery is one of the factors for the @dr.tirta account to become one of the most noticed influencers during the pandemic era. The content created is easier because @dr.tirta also uses common language that is easily accessible to ordinary people.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how much influence persuasive communication carried out by Sei Jawi-Jawi village officials in building residents' interest in carrying out the Covid-19 vaccine and to find out how residents' awareness of the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccine in Sei Jawi-Jawi village. This type of research is simple linear regression research using survey methods and data analysis using simple linear regression analysis. Total population is 4032 people. The sample size used the Slovin formula random sampling and the sample size was 98 people. Then the sampling using stratified random sampling, because the sample taken has an age limit. The results of data analysis showed the effect of persuasive communication on residents' interest in vaccines. Based on the results of the t test, it was found that the value of t count > t table, namely 7.444 > 1.985. This means that there is an influence between persuasive communication on residents' interest in vaccines. From the results of the coefficient of determination it was found that persuasive communication by Village Officials had a 36.6% influence on the Interests of Sei Jawi-Jawi Villagers in carrying out Covid-19 Vaccination while the remaining 63.4% was influenced by other factors outside of this study . Persuasive communication by village officials had quite an effect on the interest of Sei Jawi-Jawi Village residents in carrying out the Covid-19 Vaccination.

Abstract

Regardless the role of women as perpetrators or victims in the society cases, the mass media often portrays women as the parties who always cause problems. This study aims to determine the objectification and representation of women in the news framing in the news of Nissa Sabyan has an affair with Ayus Sabyan on the news portal Indozone.id and Tribunnews.com for the period February to March 2021. The analysis will use the framing analysis method from Pan & Kosicki on eighteen corpus. The results of the study indicate that there are similarities in the news themes presented on the two news portals, that female actors have a greater responsibility for the occurrence of infidelity in relationship. However, there are differences in conveying the news, where Indozone.id tends to put Nissa Sabyan as pelakor (perebut lelaki orang) or a label for woman who flirts to men who already have a partner. While Tribunnews.com portrays Ayus with good images. The objectification of women on the two news portals is shown through the choice of words such as “tidak harus cantik”, “gatel”, and “wanita cantik”which indicate there are standart to categorize women. Furthermore, the mass media choose to compare Nissa Sabyan and Ririe Fairus by using the words “lebih memilih”, “dibandingkan”, “daripada” for Ayus statement to end his marriage status. Rather than doing that, the mass media should comparing infidelity and marriage by giving narations that Ayus wants to continuou his relationship with Nissa Sabyan than to keep his marriage with Ririe Fairus.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed life patterns, such as the tourism sector which has been badly affected due to restrictions on human movement. The Indonesian government implements IMR or New Habit Adaptation as an effort to keep active by implementing health protocols. Tourist trips by foreign tourists and domestic tourists have decreased as a result of restrictions on human movement and activity. Open Trip services and outward shopping entrusted services have decreased. However, tourism service actors and the creative economy must continue to maintain their business. Jastip and opentrip business owners in a state of survival continue to promote through social media. Open Trip business owners and Titip Services from the Instagram account @jengmimarikmacitralestari also carry out promotions on Instagram social media. The purpose of this research is to find out how to manage Instagram Open Trip accounts and Titip Services @jengmimarikmacitralestari in the Era of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The research method is qualitative with a case study research tradition approach. The case study on the Instagram account @jengmimarikmacitralestari is because there is a peculiarity of the case with the owner of the Instagram account Open Trip and Titip Service which is managed by the account owner who is very strong in promotion on Instagram social media. During the pandemic, it was a testing period for account owners in their business to be able to stay in business and continue to manage their Instagram accounts. The data collection technique is through in-depth interviews with the account owner, making observations on the Instagram social media account @jengmimarikmacitralestari, and literature review.

Abstract

Advertising is a form of mass media product that presents various benefits. In modern times, advertising has developed so that it is made in new media in the form of social media. This study discusses the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture's "Tukar Tempat" advertisement, which is an audio-visual advertisement has been published on the Cerdas Berkarakter Kemendikbud RI Youtube channel. Tukar Tempat is a public service advertisement with the theme of gender with the issues discussed in this study the gender role of the husband figure who also has a background in the Covid-19 pandemic phenomenon which has an impact on the realm of domestic life. The purpose of this study is to determine the representation of gender roles in Tukar Tempat as public service advertisements with John Fiske's semiotic analysis in 12 scenes. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using John Fiske's semiotic analysis which consists of the level of reality, the level of representation, and the level of ideology. The data collection technique uses primary sources in the form of scene snippets of the "Tukar Tempat" video advertisement on YouTube and secondary sources from books, journals and relevant articles. The results of the study show that the depiction of gender roles in the reality level shows characteristics of masculinity, the level of representation of gender roles in the domestic sphere is weak, and the level of advertising represents gender roles followed by ideologies, gender, feminism, masculinity, patriarchy and matriarchy, domesticity, male chauvinism.

Abstract

Sex education for adolescents is needed in order to provide a correct understanding of sex. This study aims to analyze sex education by families through an interpersonal communication approach to adolescents in the Saritem area of ​​Bandung city. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques with passive participant observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature study. The results of the study show: The implementation of sex education is as follows: 1. The time for delivery of sex education is not certain but only as needed; 2). Seeing the right momentum; 3). Sex education material must be given comprehensively; 4) presented at a young age; 5) packaged in sharing, dialogue; 6), the child is positioned as an interlocutor; 7) without having to wait for events; 8), and adjust to the needs of the child. The role of parents in providing sex education is that of knowledge providers, evaluators, educators, companions, and monitors in sexual matters. Sex education is given according to the needs of the child without having to start with an event. Delivery is delivered by sharing and interaction is established in a warm atmosphere, by getting closer to children can create good social relations. Actions, are expected to obey parents as conveyed in sex education.

Abstract

The year 2022 places Indonesia as the international epicenter for hosting the G20 on 15-16 November. These crucial moments must be well-packaged and well-narrated to the media and the public. One approach taken by Jokowi is making the most of his Instagram, @jokowi. Every visual upload on social media has emotional content and can significantly influence the success of political communication. No research in Indonesia has been found examining emotions in political communication. A political actor communicates not only through visuals but also from the emotions emitted from the visuals. Emotions that are communicated can positively influence interested public or followers on social media. This research use content analysis. However, unlike the usual, this research will utilize cloud computing and machine learning platforms from Amazon Web Service (AWS), namely Amazon Rekogniton. In total, there is 98 visual information that will be analyzed using AWS. An interesting finding from this study is that Jokowi and the G20 guests mostly show happy and calm emotions.

Abstract

The village government in carrying out government and administrative services to the community needs to coordinate with the sub-district government. The thing that needs to be coordinated between the Mulyojati Kota Metro Subdistrict Government and the West Metro District Government in administrative services is an orderly administration. This is because there are often paperwork administration files that have received recommendations from the village government after arriving at the sub-district, there are still some that are not orderly and lack of requirements. Based on the description of the background above, the formulation of the problem is: What is the shape of the pattern of coordination and communication of the West Metro Regency government in controlling the implementation of Metro City Mulyojati Village? Methods of data collection using interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative technique. From the results of the discussions conducted, it can be concluded that: 1) The coordinator's knowledge of village administration issues is quite good, 2) In the implementation of coordination there is the involvement of functionary according to their authority, 3) After coordinating village government control there is a form of agreement which results in all administrative services have to follow the existing SOP. 5) After coordinating the village government administration, there will be an invitation from the coordinating participants if the coordination involves the entire village government.
