Abstract

Embung Batur Agung is a source of irrigation for residents around Embung. Depreciation of water in the reservoir occurs due to leakage from the geomembrane layer of the Embung Batur Agung. This study aims to determine the direction of leakage from the reservoir so that appropriate treatment can be carried out. This research was done using hydrogeological analysis and electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) geoelectrical measurements. ERT Geoelectrical measurement uses a dipole-dipole configuration with a spacing of 5 m and 10 m and a line length of 100 m. There are 2 lines in the southwest and southeast of the reservoir. The results of geohydrology analysis, it was found that the aquifer system around the reservoir included in the Gunungsewu aquifer system, and the dynamics of surface groundwater are controlled by faults and fractures. The results of the ERT geoelectrical measurement, there is a low anomaly which can indicate a reservoir leak at 50-60 m on line 1 which is in the southwest of the reservoir. This low anomaly has a vertical pattern as well as there is a fracture which is the cause of the reservoir leak. These low anomaly values range from 4-30 Ωm which can be interpreted as the presence of water that has conductive properties. The results of this study are expected to be used by the local government to handle the leakage of the reservoir.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence can help classify plants to make identification easier for everyone. This technology can be used to classify mangrove trees. The degradation of mangrove forests has resulted in a 20% loss of biodiversity, an 80% loss of microbial decomposers, reduced C-organic soil, and fish spawning grounds, resulting in estimated losses in the ecological and economic fields for up to IDR 39 billion. The identification of different mangrove species is the first step in ensuring the preservation of these forests. Therefore, this research aimed to develop algorithms and a convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture to classify mangrove tree species with the highest possible accuracy using Python software. The architecture selection for this model includes a batch size of 32, an input image size of 128x128 pixels, four classes, four convolution layers, four rectified linear unit (ReLU) layers, 2x2 max-pooling, and two fully connected layers (FCL). The finding showed that the resulting accuracy from the test was 97.50%, while the validation test was 81.25%, applied to four types of mangrove leaves, including Avicenia marina, Avicenia officialis, Rizophora apiculata, and Soneratia caseolaris.

Abstract

Bener District, Purworejo Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, located in the Kulon Progo Mountains can be classified as a high-risk area. Many experts and researchers have studied landslides, but there has been little research on rock slope kinematics. In fact, when such a rock slope is unstable and poorly monitored, it has the potential to endanger the community or facilities at the adjacent site. This is why slope kinematics research is required. To complete this study, rock kinematics analysis using the Markland method was performed on six representative slopes. The assessment results show that Kaliwader slope A, Kaliwader slope B, and Argosari slope each tend to collapse with wedge failure, Kaliwader slope D and Wadas slope have the potential for wedge failure and planar slide, but Kaliwader slope C does not. Despite their steep inclination, slopes that are likely to fail are strongly related to the presence of geologic structures, particularly joints, and faults, at the sites. The findings of this study will be helpful in the development of landslide vulnerability zones in the context of disaster mitigation.

Abstract

This study proposes a continuous mechanism for detecting distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks from network traffic data. The mechanism aims to systematically organise traffic data and prepare them for DDoS attack detection using convolutional deep-learning neural networks. The proposed mechanism contains ten phases covering activities, including data preprocessing, feature selection, data labelling, model building, model evaluation, DDoS detection, attack pattern identification, alert creation, notification delivery, and periodical data sampling. The evaluation results suggested that the detection model built based on convolutional deep-learning neural networks and relevant network traffic features provided 97.2% detection accuracy. The study designed a holistic mechanism that considers the systematic network traffic data management for continuous monitoring and good performance of DDoS attack detection. The proposed mechanism could provide a solution for network traffic data management and enhance the existing methods for DDoS attack detection. In addition, it generally contributes to the cybersecurity body of knowledge.

Abstract

Coronary heart is the highest cause of death in Indonesia reaching 26%. Therefore, to prevent the high mortality rate of coronary heart disease (CHD), early detection of CHD can be carried out. One way is to examine the electrocardiogram/electrocardiograph (ECG) recording. ECG hardware has been made in previous studies to record ECG signals. ECG research is an important study because it can detect cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular diseases can be classified as arrhythmic diseases. Arrhythmia is a disorder that occurs in the heart rhythm. The method used to recognize and classify ECG signal patterns is the R-R interval (RRI) method. In this study, the ECG signal is classified as normal and abnormal. Abnormal means that a person has a heart rhythm disorder. The classification method used is random forest. The advantage of the random forest classifier is that it can handle noise and missing values and can handle large amounts of data. The accuracy of the ECG signal classification using the Random forest method is 96%. The contribution of this research is that early detection of heart rhythm disorders using an ECG can be monitored through the smart healthcare web.

Abstract

The study aims to compare the physical characteristics (water holding capacity and cooking loss) and chemical characteristics (moisture, protein, fat, ash, carbohydrate content, and total calories) of Chitofudregs nugget with commercial nuggets. Four categories of nuggets which are Fiesta, So Good, Nugget Curah, and Chitofudregs nugget (FT, SG, NC, and Chitofudregs) were determined as treatments in this study with 5 repetitions for each category. The experimental method of this research was a randomized design complete (RDC). Physically, Chitofudregs had the highest water-holding capacity and the lowest cooking loss among all commercial nuggets (p<0.05) so there were not many nutrient losses during the processing. Chemically, Chitofudregs contained higher water content than one of the commercial-NC nuggets while the protein and ash content was lower than the two types of commercial nuggets (FT and SG) with carbohydrate content which was also lower than the NC commercial nuggets (p<0.05). The fat content and total calories of chitofudreg were the lowest among all commercial nuggets (p<0.05). Chitofudregs are combination nuggets whose physical quality is as good as commercial nuggets with specific chemical characteristics and has potency as a diet product because it is low in fat and calories.

Abstract

This paper proposes a mathematical model of an asymmetric intraguild (IG) predation system with an exclusive alternative resource. In particular, this paper analyzes the effects that the exclusive alternative resource has on the consumption/predation behaviors of both the IG predator and IG prey species in the system. The results presented on this paper show that, if the IG predator is less competitive in consumption and less efficient in conversion of the shared resource than that of the IG prey, then there exists a lower bound on the value of the predation rate parameter that should be maintained by IG predator species to ensure its survival and co-existence in the system.

Abstract

Saccharum edule Hassk (Terubuk) is a plant of the Poaceae family that after consuming its flowers as vegetables, Saccharum edule Hassk waste in the form of leaves and stems can be used as alternative animal feed. Improving the nutrition of crushed waste as an alternative feed can be done through ensilage using several mixed ingredients that can maximize the fermentation process. The study aimed to analyze the effect of differences in the ratio of starter microbial with a mixture of silage, such as molasses and rice bran, on the quality of the Saccharum edule Hassk waste silage. The research was conducted using leaf and stem material using the anaerobic fermentation method. The ratio of microbes, molasses, and rice bran used was 0.00067%:2%:4% (S1), 0.0008%:3%:6% (S2), and 0.001%:4%:8% (S3). The fermentation time was 14, 21, and 28 days. The results obtained showed that pH <4 was achieved by S1, S2, and S3, at 21 and 28 days of fermentation. Fleigh value (NF) of S1 and S2 at 21 days of fermentation was 72.47% while in S3 it was 72.20%. The NF at 28 days of fermentation was 85.53% in S1, and 85. 67% in S2 and S3. The highest protein content is in S2 at 10.37 ± 0.69% (p>0.05) in a fermentation time of 21 days.
