Abstract

This study emphasizes the activities of the traditional marriage process in the Buginesse community in Padang Lampe Village, Pangkep Regency, and South Sulawesi which still tends to prioritize material values as a necessity. The purpose of this research is to find out the process of Macellengcelleng Tradition and the meaning of this tradition. This research used a qualitative methodology with a symbolic interactional approach. The data findings were analyzed through three stages, namely Data Reduction, Data Presentation, and Conclusion Drawing. The study found two important things, namely (1) this tradition pays great attention to dialogic activities to reach a consensus or agreement. (2) this tradition builds an awareness that the material equipment prepared does not only describe a hedonistic lifestyle, but also perseverance, discipline, gratitude, happiness, prosperity, self-esteem, sustenance, and the responsibility of the prospective husband as head of the household. Thus, this tradition teaches a maturity in behavior and relationships with others that can be seen through the practice of communication and responsibility from a man to the woman he wants to marry. In other words, the local wisdom of Macellengcelleng is a form of civilization that we know as Maturity Value.

Abstract

The Web Series “Ustadz Millenial” tells the story of a life that tells the story of the life of a young man who aspires to become a young ustadz. However, his family's troubles and death are his dreams. But he still tries to realize his ideals by preaching through social media. Based on the background above, the purpose of this study is to answer how the signified and the signifier as well as the object (referent) are displayed in the series "Ustadz Millenial" and what are the da'wah messages contained in the series "Ustadz Millenial". In its analysis, this study uses a qualitative approach with the semiotic method of Ferdinand de Saussure which focuses on the signifier and the signified as well as the object (referrent). The data studied are pieces of images, text, sounds, or sounds contained in the series "Ustadz Millenial". The results of the study show that the "Millenial Ustadz" series is full of da'wah messages, including; an invitation to use patience, forgive each other, maintain friendship, try and endeavor, keep fifteen, be devoted to both parents, preach through social media that is developing with technology in today's era, and display the hijab as a suggestion to cover the genitals.

Abstract

With the development of today's technology, information will quickly spread. Because of this, false information easily reaches the public. People who get false information often share it again without knowing that the information is fake. Therefore, this study aims to determine the level of trust of WhatsApp users in false information among the people of Batam. This quantitative research was conducted by distributing online questionnaires and as many as 326 respondents were involved in this study. The method used in this research is the regression method with the help of SPSS software. This study concludes that most people do not seem to care about the truth of the information being spread and will immediately share the information because they think the information is important for others.

Abstract

Informasi di era digital menjadi kebutuhan primer bagi masyarakat. Ruang digital memberikan ruang bagi lalu lintas informasi yang tinggi, sehingga rentan dengan keberadaan informasi yang tak jelas sumbernya cenderung provokatif misalnya hoax. Kegiatan literasi diperlukan untuk berjalan seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi. Terutama di Kalimantan Timur kondisi kegiatan literasi masih minim dilakukan sehingga tidak diiringin dengan kemampuan literasi public.Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif dengan pengambilan informan menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dengan jumlah enam informan mahasiswa dari tiga kampus berbeda.Hasil penelitian menggunakan dua konsep literasi yaitu critical understanding dan community abilities. Critical understanding yang ditemukan adalah mayoritas informan sudah memiliki kemampuan berfikir keritis saat menerima informasi yang mencurigai. Caranya adalah dengan melakukan pembanding dengan sumber berita lainya. Sedangkan communities abilities yang ditemukan adalah mayoritas informan aktif mendiskusikan, mengedukasi lingkungan terdekat mereka tentang cara mengidentifikasi hoax.

Abstract

Library Orientation Class and Tour activities at the Library Technical Service Unit, Syiah Kuala University, to introduce new students to understanding procedures for accessing information in the library. Advances in digital technology or often referred to as new media such as computers, telecommunications, the internet, and the world wide web are able to provide better services to users. This is the background for the author to analyze the use of new media in the Library Orientation Class and Tour activities at the University Library Technical Service Unit, Syiah Kuala. The method used in this study is qualitative by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. The results obtained from this study are the Library Orientation Class and Tour activities at the Syiah Kuala University Library UPT utilizing website media as information access media, Youtube media as educational media, and Zoom media as media that supports virtual tours.

Abstract

Media massa memiliki peran dalam melakukan pembingkaian atas berita yang ditayangkan. Kasus kerumunan yang melibatkan seorang Pimpinan Front Pembela Islam (FPI) Bernama Rizieq Shihab. Dalam pemberitaan, media massa mengeluarkan berita kerumanan tersebut secara berkelanjutan. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui pembingkaian berita media Kompas TV terhadap kerumunan Rizieq Shihab berupa isi 2 video berita bertemakan Kasus Kerumunan Rizieq Shihab. Penelitian dianalisis melalui pendekatan wacana kritis melalui tiga tahapan analisis yaitu analisis struktur makro, supertsruktur dan struktur mikro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bawah terdapat berbagai macam wacana yang dikembangkan Kompas TV terkait pemberitaan kasus kerumanan. Sebagian besar teks berita cenderung menampilkan berita negatif yang menekankan Rizieq Shihab sebagai pihak yang membawa ancaman dan berbahaya. Sebaliknya citra yang ditampilkan kepada polisi sebagai pihak yang menegakkan hukum dan keadilan adalah citra yang positif.
