Abstract

Abstract Framing is the way in which the reality constructed by media. This research aimed to investigative and analyze the framing and the siding of the polemic about the legalization of the Flag Qanun and Logogram of Aceh. The research used the qualitative method with the framing analysis approach the text of the online news website were analyzed using Gamson and Modigliani model, which refers to a frame consisting of two supporting elements, namely the framing devices and the reasoning devices. The research objects were two online news websites; Kompas.com and Antaranews.com. The total sample frames comprised 56 pieces of news from the two online news website in three mounthstime from March through May 2013. The research results revealed that the two websites considered the polemic about the Flag Qanun and Logogram of Aceh important because there was a news value in it. The framing substance used by two online news websites was the same, i.e. the Flag Qanun and Logogram of Aceh was inconstitutional and therefore had to be revised. Such a framing had an implication that the media took side with the groups who were against the Flag Qanun and Logogram of Aceh.Abstrak Framing merupakan strategi media mengonstruksi realitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis framing dan keberpihakan media dalam polemik pengesahan Qanun Bendera dan Lambang Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis framing. Teks berita dari situs berita online dianalisis menggunakan model Gamson dan Modigliani. Penelitian ini dilakukan di dua situs berita online: Kompas.com dan Antaranews.com. Sampel frame berjumlah 56 berita dari dua situs berita online dalam waktu tiga bulan (bulan Maret, April, dan Mei 2013). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua situs berita menganggap penting polemik Qanun Bendera dan Lambang Aceh karena nilai berita yang terkandung di dalamnya. Substansi framing yang dipakai yang dipakai dua situs berita online sama, yaitu, Qanun Bendera dan Lambang Aceh bertentangan dengan konstitusi dan harus direvisi. Framing ini mengarahkan keberpihakan media kepada kelompok kontra Bendera dan Lambang Aceh. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media mengonstruksi realitas kewenangan Aceh memiliki Bendera dan Lambang Daerah dapat mengganggu stabilitas keamanan dan kedaulatan Republik Indonesia. Konstruksi ini menjadikan media memainkan genre media kebangsaan yang memandang kepentingan bangsa dan negara jauh lebih penting daripada peraturan daerah yang melanggar peraturan perundang-undangan. Media mendorong agar Pemerintah Pusat dan Pemerintah Aceh berunding guna menyelesaikan polemik secara hati-hati dan demi kepentingan bersama serta masa depan perdamaian di Aceh.

Abstract

Background of this review is the fact that the campaign of InformationSystem of Integrated Planting Calendar/KATAM has been done on a massivescale. Notwithstanding, just many peasant know and use KATAM as aguideline.Purpose of this reviewis to determine the design of KATAMcommunication campaigns. Thisreview using secondary data,then analyzed withAISAS method. The results show, the communication through the campaign onKATAM basically already done by Balitbangtan. The campaign was carried outby using the internet and social media. KATAM campaign is quite effective.Further study need to be done to determine share of KATAM to others.

Abstract

Remaja yang sadar dan akan peluang dan tantangan masa depan memerlukan pembelajaran guna mengembangkan fitrah dan potensi dasar yang telah dimiliki agar mereka merasa senang dan bangga atas dirinya sendiri sehingga ia mau belajar dan berlatih bersama teman-teman sebayanya. Dalam perkembangan teknologi yang begitu pesat, remaja tidak dapat mengelakkan kemajuan perkembangan media sosial. Media sosial menjadi faktor utama untuk mendapatkan informasi terkini, sarana bersosialisasi dan menjalin relasi, bahkan mampu merubah cara pandang seseorang dalam menyikapi sesuatu yang sedang terjadi. Seakan telah manampikkan faktor tatap muka, media sosial yang terfasilitasi oleh internet kini bahkan telah menjadi sarana sosialisasi dan menjalin relasi yang paling massif digunakan oleh para remaja karena dianggap tidak memiliki batasan ruang dan waktu. Namun tentu saja tidak semua remaja sadar akan peluang dan potensi yang ia miliki atas dirinya. Mereka masih memerlukan bimbingan dan arahan dari para orang dewasa guna menemukan role model sebagai acuan pembentukan identitasnya, menumbuhkan kepercayaan dan penerimaan atas dirinya, mengembangkan ketrampilan komunikasi interpersonal dan bergaul dengan teman sebayanya. Pemberian pengetahuan dan pemahaman mengenai personal branding ini tentunya dapat membantu mereka dalam menyiapkan dan meningkatkan daya saing serta kepekaan terhadap tantangan perkembangan zaman yang mengharuskan mereka untuk mampu mengembangkan kemampuan diri, memiliki gagasan cemerlang dengan metode thinking out of the box, memiliki kemampuan berkomunikasi yang baik dengan memanfaatkan media sosial dan internet secara bijak.

Abstract

English is a language that has generally been used as a forum for communication with an international scope, so that English can be said to be universal, where its use is not only a communication bridge in everyday life in the international world but has also penetrated cyber communication. Especially in the current era of globalization, the very fast exchange of information related to scientific developments requires students to have proficiency in mastering English. English proficiency is not only a requirement for students to study abroad, but also for exploring more global knowledge, where available materials such as those in international journals are generally available in English. The problem that arises is that students are constrained in mastering English as a compulsory skill that must be possessed at this time. Therefore, this activity aims to motivate and provide awareness regarding the importance of mastering English among students. This activity was carried out at the FKIP Syiah Kuala University Auditorium which was attended by approximately 120 students. This activity aims to make students more motivated and motivated to hone their mastery of English, so that they have international insights and are useful as a tool to answer the challenges of scientific development in the era of globalization.

Abstract

Pubic speaking is an individual skill that is a necessity in the current era of disruption. Public speaking skills are needed to support the best results in education, the social environment, and the workplace. But not everyone is able to do public speaking well. Previous research states that the condition is caused by excessive fear of individuals to speak in front of the crowd (glossophobia). The objectives of this training are (1) to open students' horizons about public speaking; (2) arousing student motivation so as not to worry about public speaking; and (3) train students practically to be able to practice public speaking in everyday life. This training uses three stages, namely, pre-training research, lectures and discussions, and the practice of public speaking. The results of the training provide practical public speaking techniques to students with a simple concept known as POBC namelyPlanning, Opening, the Body of Speech, and Conclusion and mind mapping. This method is considered to make it easier for students to do public speaking systematically from planning to closing interesting speeches.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPost-MoU, the conditions for peace in Aceh still remain in a dilemma. This happenedbecause the differentiation principle of self-governement between the central governmentand the Aceh government. One of the problems that unfinished is the Qanun Flag andCoat Aceh. This study aimed to analyze the media construction (antaranews.com) to thepolemic Qanun Aceh. The approach used in this study is a constructivist-critical analysismodel framing. The results showed that antaranews.com constructing the cause ofpolemic occurs because the Aceh Governmet endorsed the Aceh Qanun about flag andemblem Aceh that closely resembles the GAM flag. The Aceh Government placed as theguilty party. Abstract

Agrarian conflict between indigenous communities and oil palm plantation companies in Indonesia continues to occur. The expansion of oil palm plantations, claims to land claims, and the overlapping of palm oil plantation permit policy are the cause of the increasing number of agrarian conflicts. This study aims to analyze the communication strategy in the settlement of agrarian conflict in Cot Mee Village, Nagan Raya District. Agrarian conflict between the people of Cot Mee Village and PT. Fajar Baizury & Brothers has been going on for a long time. This conflict is based on land use actions by palm oil plantation corporation claimed by the community as customary land. The settlement efforts are still partial and have not found a common ground. The failure of local government as a mediator is caused by the dilemma position of local government because it is related to local tax revenue from palm oli plantation corporation. In the effort to solve agrarian conflict in Cot Mee Village, Communication Strategic perspective (Silvio Wasibord, 2014) can be used through five stages of strategy formulation; (1) problem definition; (2) goal selection; (3) strategy junctures; (4) tactics; and (5) people's motivations for change.

Abstract

Post-armed conflict and tsunami disasters, the Government of Aceh seek to implement public services and development programs transparent and accountable. One of the strategic steps taken is its implementation based on the mandate of the public information disclosure Act (KIP Law) and Aceh Qanun (Aceh Regional Regulation) Number 7 of 2019 on KIP Management. Even though it already has KIP rules, there are still some problems in its implementation, such as compliance with SKPA in providing public information and the number of disputes over public information. This study aims to identify and analyze the dynamics of the implementation of public information within the Aceh Government and the challenges of public management. This study uses a qualitative method through observation, document review, and interviews. The basis of data analysis uses Information Commission Regulation Number 1 of 2010 and Aceh Governor Regulation Number 57 of 2018. The results are (1) SKPA has work plans, programs, and activities for the management of public information; (2) there is a budget allocation for Information and Documentation Implementation Officers (PPID); (3) It has a list of public information and SOPs. The findings of this study also find logistical consequences for the future of Aceh's development through the KIP perspective. Information that is open, accessible, and inexpensive can nurture public trust in the Aceh Government and in itself will increase community participation in development. Trust is the principal social capital in the development of community welfare

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the frame used by the media in the Covid-19 coverage in Indonesia on the Kompas.com and detik.com news portals during March 2020. The method used is framing analysis with three indicators, namely, frame type, news source, and news tone. The results showed that in the Covid-19 coverage in Indonesia the media used two dominant frames, namely, (1) the public health frame to show the aspects of victims, risks, and threats of Covid-19 and (2) the policy frame to frame the government's strategy in handling Covid-19. In the reporting of Covid-19, the Central Government such as the Ministry of Health, the Government Spokesperson on the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19, and the President of the Republic of Indonesia. As for the news tone, the two media studied showed that the narrative of fear and worry is the dominant tone. While the recommended tone and instructions as well as the tone of hope and solution are not displayed by too much media. This research recommends that the media and journalists use narratives that build expectations and provide solutions for the public because the Covid-19 disaster increased public uncertainty. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis frame yang digunakan media dalam pemberitaan Covid-19 di Indonesia pada portal berita kompas.com dan detik.com selama bulan Maret 2020. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis framing dengan tiga indikator, yaitu, jenis frame, narasumber berita, dan tone berita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam pemberitaan Covid-19 di Indonesia media menggunakan dua bingkai dominan, yaitu, (1) frame kesehatan publik untuk menunjukkan aspek korban, risiko, dan ancaman Covid-19 dan (2) frame kebijakan untuk membingkai strategi pemerintah dalam penanganan Covid-19. Narasumber pemberitaan Covid-19 adalah Pemerintah Pusat seperti Kementerian Kesehatan, Juru Bicara Pemerintah pada Gugus Tugas Percepatan Penanganan Covid-19, dan Presiden. Untuk tone berita, dua media yang diteliti menunjukkan narasi ketakutan dan kekhawatiran merupakan tone dominan, sedangkan tone anjuran dan instruksi serta tone harapan dan solusi tidak terlalu banyak ditampilkan media. Riset ini merekomendasikan agar media dan jurnalis menggunakan narasi yang membangun harapan dan memberikan solusi bagi publik karena bencana Covid-19 meningkatkan ketidakpastian khalayak.
