Abstract

This article discussed stunting reporting in Aceh within the framework of local media. This study aims to further examine how the local mass media constructs stunting cases in Aceh and how the trend towards emphasizing the reality of stunting is framed in the news texts. The information in this study was derived from daily stunting reports in Indonesia's Serambi region in 2021. The cases of stunting that occurred in Aceh were the subject of this study. The data collection technique was carried out by observing texts on the Serambi Indonesia Daily throughout 2021. There were 37 reports on stunting, and then the researchers selected 12 reports that were deemed relevant and representative of the research problems and themes. From the results of the analysis, two major environmental areas are identified, namely: 1) the Stunting Issues Reporting Map, which has a tendency to discuss the implementation of stunting handling and prevention in Aceh; and 2) the emphasis on resource persons from the point of view of the government and stakeholders involved in stunting prevention. The media coverage frame provides an overview and mapping of information on stunting cases from the government's point of view. As a result, it is recommended that additional research be conducted from the community's perspective as a media audience in understanding and interpreting stunting discourse in Aceh.

Abstract

Gender issues and discrimination against women are widely found in indonesian society. The presence of films that raise stories and issues about gender is proof that in the midst of the community these problems and phenomena are true. The film Yuni (2021) by director Kamila Andini is one of the films that raises the theme of gender and women's problems that often occur in the community. Yuni's film presents a story inspired by a true story where a teenage girl has to face a difficult time in her school days because the culture encountered in the middle of her environment seems to glorify early marriage. This study aims to find forms of female resistance in Yuni's film. This research was conducted by conducting sign analysis using the semiotic theory of Roland Barthes. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this study found that there are at least three forms of female resistance in Yuni's film that are relevant to the liberal feminism movement and radical feminism. The form of female resistance in question is women's resistance in choosing to continue their education, then women's resistance in determining their own soul mate or partner, and women's resistance to the right in the form of women's freedom in reproductive life and the right to virginity.

Abstract

Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) released a video for a song entitled "PAN..PAN..PAN" via the PAN TV YouTube account. The PAN song is a promotion and outreach within the framework of the 2024 General Election. The song, which was first released on YouTube PAN TV, has become a viral and trending topic on social media, even getting various comments from netizens and the public. Against the background of the phenomena and problems regarding the PAN song, the study aims to analyze the PAN song using a political communication approach and study. This study specifically aims to reveal more deeply about the following two entities, namely: (1) Forms of Political Communication in PAN Songs; (2) Political Communication Messages in PAN Songs. The analysis of this PAN song is based on the theory of the Bandwagon Effect and The Communicative Function Model. This study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive analysis method. Based on the results of analysis and data mining, two main findings were obtained in this study, namely: (1) The form of political communication in PAN songs includes political communication techniques in the form of the bandwagon effect which has three main effects on audiences, namely conformity, interpersonal influence and seeking status; (2) Political communication messages in the PAN song technically use the communicative function campaign model which consists of four stages, namely surfacing, primary, nomination and election.
