Abstract

The complexity of managing a project requires good and accurate planning. This is done to overcome the obstacles that arise in the implementation of project work. One of them is the obstacle of late project completion time. Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) is a network model that is able to map the time of completion of activities. PERT is very useful for managing a project because it provides information relating to the completion of a project. The use of PERT method in this study provides the results of the completion time of type 72-storey residential building project based on a critical trajectory of 114 days. Through a statistical approach and assuming the completion of a normally distributed project the realistic time span of completion of the project is between 114 days to 124 days. While the probability of completion of the project during the time frame is between 50% to 99.9%.

Abstract

Abstract

PT. Mifa Brothers are located in Peunaga Cut Ujong Village, Meureubo, West Aceh, Aceh Province, which is engaged in coal mining, which has 2 types of size, namely small size (fines coal 50 mm) and large size (lumpy coal 200 mm). The problem that occurs in this company is that coal size is often not under buyer demand, 2 types of coal size are often mixed, the coal size sampling process is still done manually and takes a long time. Therefore it is necessary to do quality control to determine the coal size control limits so that the company can directly monitor from the company control chart, to facilitate the company in improving processes that go beyond the statistical control limits. Quality control can be carried out by using statistical tools to control the proportion of errors (p-chart) of daily/individual data from coal size sampling results. In January 2019, 10 ships and 70 barges totaling 550.000 mt, so the sample units produced were 6860,1 increases (20580.2 kg), coal size mismatch data were 12592 kg, from the map control calculation of the proportion of errors obtained for P 6,11853, CL 6,1185, UCL 6,440771 and LCL 5,796223. From the results of data processing, calculation of the control map from the proportion of errors turns out that the 5th and 9th observations are outside the limits of statistical control, it is necessary to revise the final results and obtained for P 4,782038, CL 4, 782024, UCL 5,041432, LCL 4,522616.

Abstract

This paper uses the failure mode approach and effect analysis (FMEA) in formulating a risk reduction strategy for damage to critical components of the boiler section of the Nagan Raya steam power plant. Boilers are an important part of the production system of steam power plants. The problem in the boiler section is the relatively high damage frequency compared to other parts. The aim of this study is to propose a risk reduction strategy for critical boiler components using a failure mode approach and effect analysis (FMEA). The proposed damage risk reduction will prioritize important components that have the highest risk priority number (RPN). The strategy that was successfully formulated was for the cyclone separator component, to carry out periodic and scheduled preventive checks and maintenance, especially on the return leg to prevent the accumulation of solid particles in the fluid system. Primary air fans and induced draft fan components, they must perform standard operational procedures (SOP) when operating the fan so that they do not experience high vibrations, and routinely balance the rotor contained in the fan. As for the coal feeder components, monitor the coal flow in detail so that it does not accumulate at one particular point, which can cause leakage at the outlet flanges.

Abstract

This paper uses the Palmer method to schedule paving block production in CV. Nibo Corporation Banda Aceh. CV. Nibo Corporation is engaged in the production of paving blocks located in the city of Banda Aceh. Problems faced by CV. Nibo Corporation often produces excess paving blocks than the number of orders that results in product accumulation in the storage area. The purpose of this study is to schedule paving block production in CV. Nibo Corporation. Paving block production scheduling in CV. Nibo Corporation will use the Palmer method. This research begins by calculating each standard time for each job. From the scheduling results, the comparison between the initial factory work schedule is nine hours of work in one day, and twenty-four working days in a month. While scheduling using the palmer method is six hours of work in one day and twenty-four working days in a month, or nine hours of work in one work day and seventeen days in a month. Using the palmer method can reduce the difference in production and orders every month from 31.000 to 5.944, or 3.000 per month, thereby reducing the accumulation of paving block products.
