<![CDATA[This study aims to find out how PKK RT 49 RT Sepinggan Balikpapan urban residents conduct urban farming. This service was carried out in RT 49, Sepinggan Village. The subjects of this study were the residents of RT 49, Sepinggan Village. Sampling is based on random sampling. Data collection through observation and documentation. Urban Farming is beneficial for RT 49 mothers, through urban faming mothers can grow vegetables in their own yards. If you don't have a yard, you can do it using used pots, buckets and used tins. Vegetables grown in the form of chili, tomatoes, onions, lime and pumpkin.]]>

<![CDATA[English vocabulary mastery in elementary school students is quite minimal. This can happen because they have not yet learned English because the lessons have been removed from the elementary school curriculum starting in 2014. The implementation team was restless and wanted to introduce English early on to students, especially at SDN 012 West Balikpapan as a form of initial recognition in order to survive and able to compete in junior high school. The method used is to provide theory and practice to the target audience. The activity of introducing English vocabulary on the theme of the school environment is carried out through face to face with the delivery of material through the lecture method followed by guidance, practice, and evaluation in understanding vocabulary with the themes of alphabets, numbers, colors and school subjects, School Things, and People in School. The results of community service activities carried out at SDN 012 West Balikpapan provide considerable benefits and are needed by students at the school. School principals, teachers, and students expect this activity to be carried out continuously through mentoring activities and forms of English language training and other lessons. Language Training is one form of non-formal education that is very important and useful for students to get to know English that still feels foreign.]]>

<![CDATA[One of the challenging thing for a job seeker during job interview is the lack of ability in answering the interview questions in English. This is caused not only because the poor English competence but also the poor knwolegde of the common job interview questions during recruitment process. The problem identified in this Community Service Program is the insufficient fund for training program of Balikpapan government, compare to the numbers of the job seeker. Therefore, cooperation with other party such as University to support any types of training program become one of the program that should always be conducted. The next problem identified is related to the lack of coomunication skills among job seeker in Balikpapan which in turn limit their opportunity in securing job especially during interview process that is conducted in English. The problem solving method is conducted in four stages, first is preparation, problem formulation, the training implementation and program evaluation. The result shows that the job seekers feel more confident in facing job interview in English after joining the program, they also expect that the similar program shall be conducted again with a longer duration.]]>

<![CDATA[The Director General of Traffic of the East Kalimantan Regional Police (2019) stated that, victims of traffic accidents 37% were 16-25 years old. The number of victims of accidents based on education is highest among students of Public High Schools and Vocational High Schools. Based on these facts, it is necessary to carry out activities aimed at broadening students' knowledge about Safety Road in two-wheeled vehicles and fostering awareness of driving that prioritizes road user safety. This activity was carried out in 3 sessions, namely giving pre-tests regarding traffic safety knowledge, the second session giving knowledge about traffic safety and question and answer, and ending with giving a post-test. Based on the test results found that an increase in the number of correct answers from the post-test and pre-test around 50%. From the results of the questionnaire, it was found that the implementation of this activity was very important and beneficial for the participants of the socialization.]]>

<![CDATA[Documenting literature, especially relating to the culture of people, its important in the area of the municipal and library services. Culture as part of efforts to maintain the identity of a society or region needs to be preserved in some way by way of documenting both the literature available to people, in the form of reference books and research results. Nor did it shirk its efforts to support literacy movements in the districts, especially the Kutai Kartanegara district together with the Office of Archives and the Kutai Kartanegara Library. The literacy movement itself began in 2016 has been activated by the Ministry of Education and Culture as the No. 23 of 2015 concerning Growth of Character. The strategy in supporting Kutai literacy in this service is first, through access to reading material in the nearest community library, namely by providing cultural-themed reading material in the form of print to increase the number and variety of quality learning resources. Second, local culture and history rewrite, and involving universities to expand and strengthen the public. Thus, the Kutai cultural literacy can growth and be a reference to both communities, academics, observers and researchers.]]>

<![CDATA[Starting from the work program of KKN Baturaja University students who asked lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering and Computers to conduct counseling with the theme "Appropriate Technology" in Way Heling Village, Lengkiti District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. This extension activity was aimed at youth cadets in Way Heling Village, where the purpose of community service conducted by the Faculty of Engineering and Computers at Baturaja University is to open up insights on social media and the distribution of information produced by social media in the digital age, to be selective, wise and critical in accessing and / or spreading information in the media social. The method of implementing activities in the form of counseling, discussion, question and answer and participants is youth youths added by the village helicopter Way Way. The results of the counseling showed that the teenagers were interested in creating social media in the economic, education and social culture field to improve their life expectancy and even they expected their village to be selected as a target village in terms of information and communication (information village). The conclusions that could be drawn from this extension activity showed a response positive and very good addressed by participants to the instructor.]]>

<![CDATA[Kelurahan Prapatan is located in the sub-district of Balikpapan Kota, Kota Balikpapan. This region is one of the densely populated areas and also vulnerable to floods and landslides. The lack of water absorption because the area is currently lacking of urban forest are the cause of flooding and landslides in the area. This has been due to the lack of land that can be used as tree planting media and some areas that has remained the untouched by Corporate Social Responsibility program of the region. The purpose of this activity is to increase public awareness especially in RT 02, RT 03, and RT 06 about the importance of maintaining environmental sustainability through greening. Th activities that are involved in the Greening programs are planting trees of mahogany and tremiron to increase water absorption are in the region.]]>

<![CDATA[Geographically, Sumberagung Village is located near an active volcano, Kelud Mountain. With such geographical conditions, it is very possible that natural disasters occur, ranging from volcanic natural disasters and cold lava floods in the Kali Putih River Region. With the frequent occurrence of disasters it is necessary to increase the readiness in dealing with disasters in the Sumberagung Village community, it is very necessary to conduct socialization to provide insight and knowledge to the community. The method used is to conduct direct socialization in the field, giving questionnaires, and coupled with literature studies from various sources, to conduct socialization to elementary / MI students in Sumberagung Village, Gandusari District, Blitar Regency. To improve disaster response and be smart in absorbing information on elementary / MI children as an early step, it is very necessary to socialize and simulate the SD / MI children in Sumberagung Village. The entire community and SD / MI students in Sumberagung Village have a very good response to the socialization activities and disaster response simulations that have been carried out, so that they are ready to assist and support the installation of placards for evacuation routes in Sumberagung Village, Gandusari District, Blitar Regency.]]>

<![CDATA[Human resources are one of the important assets and have a direct impact on the organization or agency. An institution must be supported by competent human resources because human resources are very important in carrying out business or activities in the institution. One of the ways that can be done in employee performance improvement efforts is by providing training. The process of education underwent a rapid change by utilizing digital technology, where the technology is used to facilitate the access and for the benefit of service improvement as well as for the quality of education. The problems faced by the employees are not yet creative applications to attract students to the spirit to learn. To overcome the problems faced by the partners, training will be conducted on the application of Kahoot. The game design in a multiplayer kahoot allows children to collaborate while competing through interactive, creative games. In the training will be delivered strategies that must be done in order for students to be interested in learning and encouragement. The implementation of this activity is conducted in three phases, namely: preparation stage, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation of community service was completed with Gama UI's Bimbel. Employee enthusiasm in following this activity deserves to be appreciated. The activities of community dedication are necessary and directly felt by the benefits of Gama UI Bimbel.]]>
