Abstract

The internal conflict between adat and religious (known as Paderi) groups in Minangkabau was initiated by the involvement of Dutch in the early 19th century. As requested by the Adat group to demolish the domination of Paderi, the Dutch had commenced to attack the Paderi group. Starting from that time, Ulama from religious groups had fought against the Dutch colonialism manifested in many forms of resistances. This study aims at reviewing types of resistance of Ulama in Minangkabau to the Dutch colonialization from the early 19th century until the early 20th century. Anchored in historical research methods involving heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography, the data were analysed from the perspective of social conflict and history of thought. Finding reports the two types of resistance namely physical and non-physical ones triggered by various reasons i.e. religion, politics, economics and others.

Abstract

Based on the long history of Indonesia, the Dutch and Japanese Colonials once ruled the land of Indonesia for 350 years by the Netherlands and Japan for 3.5 years. To improve the patriot spirit of the nation, it is very important to learn about the past, how cruel the colonization was and the struggle of the nation's heroes for Indonesian independence. Japanese power in Indonesia can be seen through historical evidence in the form of Japanese military defense buildings scattered in areas in Indonesia, especially on the island of Sumatra. Japan chose its military defense center in Bukittinggi as the headquarters of the 25th Army. The research method used in the form of historical research methods such as heuristics, is a stage of collecting historical data, critique that is critique of the data that has been obtained, interpretation gives an opinion about history theoretically and historiography develops a history as a discipline and archaeological research methods such as Observation stages in collecting related data through a review of the literature or a direct visit in the form of objects or buildings, description processing and providing an explanation of the data obtained and an explanation of writing research results. The Japanese military defense buildings located in Bukittinggi, Agam and the surrounding area are the Japanese Bunkers in the Sariak River, Taluak, Tiku and the Muko-Muko area of Tanjung Raya Maninjau. Through physical evidence that the true headquarters of the Army's 25th centered in New York City as one of the strategic areas for surveillance and attack enemies as a central military command control central Sumatra, Aceh and northern Malacca Strait.

Abstract

The legitimization of the Shah was managed through his bloodline - as in those who were Sayyid or descendants of Prophet Muhammad were automatically considered legitimate rulers of the state. The highest position in the government was the position of Grand Vizier (Prime Minister), who was the closest man to the Shah and had absolute power over national interests. Any decision had to be made after the approval of Shah and the Vizier himself. With the historical method, starting from heuristic data collection and interpreting it, which ends with historiography, Safavid fought the Ottomans, his enemies to the West, who saw the Safavid Empire as a threat Sunni-Shia divide. Many Shiites were deported from the Ottoman Empire following the numerous uprisings in favor of the Safavids. He fought them and lost territories such as Baghdad, parts of the Iranian Azerbaijan region, Herat, Mashhad, etc. However, after his defeats and loss to the Ottomans, he lost the support he enjoyed from the Qizilbash, which had a significant influence in the Empire - but their impact was reduced during the reign of Shah Abbas I. He managed to retrieve the lost territories and increase the number of people serving the military to defend the borders. Was Shah Abbas I. Abbas also managed to fight the Uzbeks and Ottomans and retrieve the lost territories, which positively impacted his reputation and increased power? He managed to recover Herat (modern-day Afghanistan) and Mashhad (Iran) from the Uzbeks, Baghdad, Caucasian territories, and eastern parts of Iraq from the Ottomans. Keywords:Development, Safavid, Shah Abbas I,

Abstract

Incung script is the script used in Kerinci, the only local script that has ever developed in Central Sumatra. This script is used in the tradition of textbooks in Kerinci, which has produced nearly 134 manuscripts with different contents, in the search for researchers generally contained Tembo or genealogy and mindu coral or lamentation and by using materials in the form of horns and bamboo. Therefore, in this further search the writer uses a descriptive analytical method and in this qualitative study is accompanied by a philological and codicological approach to assist in identifying the manuscripts and the ins and outs that accompany it and presenting the edition of the text, the meaning of the content and the context of the contents of the manuscript. The results of this study show that the incung script is very different from the script in the surrounding area (Bengkulu, Lampung and South Sumatra) both in terms of its shape and naming. Where the name of this script is written directly in the text of the text written as (h) incung not rencong as some researchers have previously thought. In the tradition of communication, it not only uses horns and bamboo, but also uses media in the form of daluwang and lontar, as well as contents, there are also rajahs and mantras and other important notes, such as notes of debt and or fines.

Covid-19 has been infecting the world for almost two years and Indonesia, in particular. Along with the spread of the new Delta variant, it has triggered its spread in Java and Bali. Not including the death rate which continues to increase from time to time. This paper utilizes qualitative methods in working on the written data obtained. However, in the midst of policies and social assistance disbursement of up to trillions, apparently it has not been able to guarantee the survival of the informal sector. The sector, which mostly depends on the interaction of buyers and service users, is the most vulnerable when dealing with PPKM.
