Abstract

Abstract The presence of sandalwood in the villages of Eonbesi and Oelbubuk is relatively good, but the local community only knows the use of sandalwood is limited to medical purposes. The sustainability of sandalwood requires the support of all parties and a means of education in the form of a reference book is needed to increase knowledge about sandalwood ethnobotany. The purpose of this development research is to raise awareness of the general public and students as an academic community group to be able to utilize, maintain, and process sandalwood, and produce products in the form of reference books. This study uses a development model adapted from Borg and Gall (2003) consisting of 5 stages. The subjects of this study were fourth semester students, Biology Education Study Program, Nusa Cendana University who were taking the High Botanical Botany course. The results of this study indicate that the ethnobotany reference book for sandalwood in the local community of Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS) district is feasible to be developed. The results of the assessment of high plant botanist validators (BTT), sandalwood experts, and experts in learning media were 80%, 75%, and 75% respectively which were valid.

Abstract

Think Pair Share (TPS) as one of cooperative learning has been reported to be potentially used in the empowerment of students’ metacognitive skills. But the report has not been linked to gender differences. The purpose of this study was to analyze the potential use of TPS in the empowerment of metacognitive skills of male and female students. This study was conducted in the first semester of 2015/2016 academic year. The research subjects were the students of class X of State Senior High School 6 Malang. The instruments used were an essay test and a rubric of metacognitive skills. The data obtained were then tested for the normality and homogeneity of the data, and further analyzed using Ancova test. The analysis showed a significance value of p = 0.785 or > 0.05 which means the TPS learning has equal potential in empowering metacognitive skills of male and female students. The implementation of TPS learning can provide equal opportunities for male and female students to be involved in learning and provide the same demands to explore learning material.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to find out effect of addition of coconut water in the media to the number of last stage D. anosmum Lindl embryo. Research was conducted at the Plant Structure and Development of Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences University of Udayana and UPT. Balai Benih Induk Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura Provinsi Bali from February 2015 to July 2015. Three type of media were employed, i.e. PDA, Organic, MS. Three different concentration of coconut was added to media, i.e. 0 ml/L 50 ml/L, 100 ml/L. Results showed that addition of 100 ml / L coconut water in MS showed that media is capable to increase the formation of final stages embryos (> 32 cells).

Abstract

This study aims to know: (1) learning resources used in the learning of terrestrial ecosystem biology material in SMAN Insana Barat School, and (2) learning resources used in the learning of terrestrial ecosystem biology material at St. Augustine School Kefamenanu. This research is a type of survey research. The study population was biology teachers at SMAN Insana Barat School and St. Augustine School Kefamenanu. This research was conducted in January-March 2019. Data collection techniques used questionnaires on land ecosystem learning resources. Data analysis techniques used qualitative descriptive statistics. The results of the study show that: (1) the learning resources used in learning Biology on terrestrial ecosystems in SMAN Insana Barat School consist of direct objects, most of which are artificial ecosystems while indirect objects are mostly presented in textbooks, textbooks, and print modules. For learning resources in the form of E-modules and the internet and other learning resources, they have not been used by SMAN Insana Barat. This is because the availability of wifi in schools is inadequate. (2) Learning resources used in learning biology of terrestrial ecosystems at St. Augustine School Kefamenanu.consists of direct objects which are mostly in the form of artificial ecosystems while indirect objects are mostly presented in textbooks, textbooks, and printed modules. For learning resources in the form of E-modules and internet as well as other learning resources, it has not been used by the teachers and student from SMAN Insana Barat School and St. Augustine School Kefamenanu East Nusa Tenggara. This is because the availability of wifi in schools is inadequate.

Abstract

Research with the title "Analysis of White Shrimp Abundance in the Abudenok Estuary of Malacca Regency". The purpose of this study was to determine the abundance of white shrimp in the Abudenok Malacca estuary and to find the parameters of the physical-chemical relationship to the abundance of white shrimp in the Abudenok estuary of Malacca Regency. The subject of this research is White Shrimp. The research data were obtained from the results of fishing catches using a 4 m diameter net. The study was conducted once a week for three weeks in the central and lower reaches of the Abudenok estuary. The results of the analysis of the abundance of white shrimp data shows the composition of the catch is different every week. In the first week the middle Estuary catches 158 white shrimp while the downstream Estuary captures fighting 234 tails In the second week the middle Estuary catches white shrimp winning 147 tails while the downstream Estuary catches white shrimp caught 356 tails. In the second week the middle Estuary catches 174 white shrimp while the downstream Estuary catches fighting 276 white shrimp. Effect of physical-chemical parameters on the abundance of 21.5 0C - 29 0C, current velocity of 0.13 ms-0.18 ms-1, salinity of 26.00 ppt - 29.00 ppt and sand substrate. The author concludes that the abundance of white shrimp in the Abudenok estuary is influenced by physical-chemical parameters, especially temperature, current speed and substrate.
