Abstract

Budget instability and increasing competition in the industrial world require companies to further improve the efficiency of their operations. A large level of downtime every month is very often found. Because the more downtime that occurs, the more detrimental to the productivity of a company. Disturbances that occur during the production process or routine activities that occur due to damage to machinery or other work facilities, must be prevented as early as possible. What is more important is that future disruptions do not occur again. Enhance the role of technicians and instructors as the maintenance team that first discusses the problem of engine failure that is used for practice to create integrated productive maintenance systems. Scheduled and planned maintenance can prevent damage to equipment and other work facilities. This research can eliminate simple examples of unnecessary damage. Approved preventive maintenance will produce an inventory of all components used that are delivered with scheduled maintenance. To carry out maintenance required work that is planned to be done in accordance with what will be done. The machine subject that is translated is the Printing Machine, where the machine's focus component to be allocated is a Dying Matter / Print Matter. From data processing and discussion, the most important parts are Cavity, Ejector Pin, Thermocouple, and Screw. The damage category found the recommended component replacement.

Abstract

3 ft Gurindam Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) showed unmaximal performance when it tested on the water. Uncalm movement, unmaximal speed indicated that something need to be checked and make sure to the USV so that it can maximize the performance. The USV is owned by Politeknik Negeri Batam, it’s 3 feet long, with single hull type, fuel engine motor and almost 8kg weight. This research aims is to get the stability analytical data so that the researche can collected some data which is will used to maximize the USV performance. From the research it can concluded that the USV has a maximal GZ 9,56cm at 48.2 deg in mimimal weight and maximal GZ 8.88cm at 48.2 deg at the maximall weight of the ship. From this result, it can concluded that the more weight added on the fuel tank (front position) the more unstable condition of the ship. Or, it’s need a fixed ballast on the AP area to get the more stability on the USV. Hopefully this reasearh followed by the owner and tested so that the performace of the ship will be maximal.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the direction of development in the world of Mold & Dies design in the world. Data searches were carried out through science direct databases using the design of molds and dies as keywords with a limitation of open access journals between 2015 - 2020. The results were comprehensively analyzed based on year, publisher's name, institution, and the country as well as research subjects. Files from Mendeley software are saved in Reference Manager Format (.RIS) format which is processed into VOSviewer software to find out the bibliometric map. The results revealed that the highest number of publications is in a procedia manufacturing journal. The most contributing country in the European continent indexed in Scopus is Germany. Within the output in the form of network visualization, it is found that several novelty potentials are in line with the direction of the development of the study with the parameters of the number of population and the year of the research output. Publications on the most similarity and chance of novelty on research topics are in Cluster 1, which consists of Energy Efficiency, Decision Process, Plastic Materials, and Sustainability.Keywords: Novelty, Injection Mold Design, Bibliometric Maping, VOSviewer

Abstract

The main problem that occurs in most ultrasonic welding processes on ABS thermoplastic materials using ultrasonic welding machines is improper parameter selection. Selection of incorrect parameters will cause various defects in the product such as gaps, dent, offside etc. One parameter that is very influential on the results of welds is the weld time parameter, it is because this parameter has a high level of sensitivity to the welding results. That is why the purpose of this research itself is to test the effect of weld time on the product produced by welding five different parameters starting from the minimum of 0.190s to the maximum parameter of 0.350s by using 15 samples that are available for later testing. parameters using 3 product samples to get maximum results. Then the inspection method used to determine the effect of the weld time parameter is the first air leak testing using a water leakage tester to ensure the weld results on the product there are no leaks and the second method is visual inspection assisted with a tool called luxo lamp, this tool is in the form of a magnifying glass illuminated lights so that we can easily ascertain what defects occur in the product after welding. The results of the data from this study are expected to indicate whether there is a significant influence of the weld time parameters on defects that occur in the product so that it can help companies overcome the problems that occur.

Abstract

In this modern and technological age, laptops have become a primary need or a primary need for everyone. Because laptops can help get some work done faster. The increased production of the laptop market with an assortment of specifications and brands may be confusing for users who just want to buy a laptop. This research proposes a decision support system to determine which laptop option is best according to the user's needs. Weighted Product method produces decisions by comparing between alternatives based on the function of preferences and weights that vary from each criterion where the result of the decision is determined from the rating results. The criteria used as an assessment to recommend laptop options are processor (C1), RAM (C2), storage (C3), and price (C4). From this developed system will produce a list of top 10 rankings based on the weight given or inputted by the user. With this system can help new people or users in determining the choice of the best laptop to use as needed.

Abstract

In shipping industry, especially on ships, centrifugal pumps are used in piping systems. Pumps are the most component used for fluid transferring process of piping systems such as ballast systems, bilga systems, fire fighting systems, sanitary systems, fresh water systems and engine cooling systems. The used of pump capacity may varies depending on system requirements. On pump operation, especially centrifugal pumps can be used as a single, series, or parallel according to flow requirements and working pressure (pressure head). The characteristics of centrifugal pumps that are operated in series and parallel can be known through direct pump operation or can be done through the use of a visual aid. The pump operation trainer is designed as a learning aids to determine the characteristics of series and parallel centrifugal pumps. The purpose of this research is to design a model of test equipment for the characteristics of a series and parallel arrangement of centrifugal pumps. The research method is carried out in several stages such as designs, build and testing This research also made a plans for further development of automatic control and monitoring systems

Abstract

Operation of ships with special functions such as dredgers or commonly called Dredger Barge requires special support such as spuds. In addition to being able to replace anchors more effectively, it can also facilitate supporting vessels such as Anchor Handling Tug and ensure safety while operating. In this study planning and analysis needs to be done in order to estimate the reaction and the condition of the spud and the spud holder at the time of operation. The study approach uses Solidwork software to simulate the strength test of the material as well as the safety of the spud and the spud holder when receiving sea wave pressure, ocean currents and wind in extreme weather using Mild Steel (ASTM (S) A36) material. The results of the simulation of the strength and feasibility test of the spud and the spud holder were obtained with a von mises spud value of 0.0856 N / mm2 and a von mises value on the spud holder of 15.5 N/mm2 with the parameter value of the von mises spud and spud holder of 188 N / mm2. Furthermore, the simulation results of the shear stress value on the spud are 2.37x10-7 N/mm2 and the shear stress value on the spud holder is 3.32x10-5 N/mm2 with the parameter value of the spear shear stress and the spud holder of 141 N/mm2. Furthermore, the simulation results of the Deflection value for the spud is 0.00116 mm and the deflection value for the spud holder is 0.117 mm with the deflection spud parameter value of 80 mm, and the deflection parameter for the spud holder is 10 mm. The spud and spud holders in this design are feasible in production and have been guaranteed safety and feasibility by referring to the parameters according to the standards of the Bureau Veritas and American Institute of Steel Construction rules

Abstract

Perancangan perpipaan yang baik dan benar sangat dibutuhkan untuk menjamin kelangsungan dari proses serta lama pemakaian pipa. Dalam proses perancangan banyak aspek yang perlu diperhatikan sehingga memperoleh desain yang baik dan efisien, hal yang diperhatikan salah satunya peningkatan tekanan dan suhu yang menyebabkan terjadinya tegangan, Untuk mengatasi besarnya tegangan maka diperlukan Analisa. Pada tugas akhir ini akan dilakukan Analisa tegangan menggunakan aplikasi Auto Pipe dengan pengerjaan desain mengunakan standar ASME B31.3 Proses Piping, terdapat 3 tegangan yang dianalisa menggunakan aplikasi yaitu tegangan sustain, expansion, dan hoop. Pada rancangan yang dibuat terdapat 10 point daerah dimana tiap-tiap point memilki tegangan yang terjadi berbeda, sehingga perlu diketahui daerah yang kritis berdasarkan besaran tegangan yang terjadi. Hasil yang didapat dari analisa perhitungan ini adalah tercapainya desain yang aman pada saat beroperasi dikarenakan penggurangan tegangan akibat adanya pipa support

Abstract

The need for digitally scanned documents has become a public need these days. Furthermore, smartphone usage with supporting applications to scan barcodes and documents digitally has become a trend. The problem that often occurs when scanning documents is the instability of the hand-held document. In addition, the 3-axis coordinate determination of a smartphone is also not easy to control. Therefore, tools are needed to speed up and simplify the scanning process. This research aims to create a tool that can increase work productivity when scanning documents using a smartphone. Market analysis, engineering planning, and prototypes have been carried out to learn what will decide mass production and sale in general. The data analysis method used a full factorial design, using gender as a factor and preparation time and data scanning time as levels. The initial preparation time to retrieve photo and PDF documents from the initial preparation and scanning results on average takes 4.357 minutes with Std. Deviation 1.739 minutes. As for the following scan with the same paper size, it only takes 1.242 minutes with Std. Deviation 0.201 minutes. The production cost of this prototype is 126.22USD with Std.Deviation 11.36USD. Even though the production cost is the highest, it has a TKDN value of 100% and the application of PBL by students who can carry it out well.

Abstract

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) are usually used to draw sketches and model manufacturing work processes on machines that operate using computer numerical control (CNC). To communicate with each other CAD and CAM must have the same format, the drawings produced by CAD must the same format to be run on the CAM. In this study, product images will be created using Autocad software and it will run on the Fikus VisualCAM 19 software to visualize the tool pathway. The program is created to run a CNC machine and the resulting product will check the conformity of its dimensions and geometry. The results obtained are that the images generated from the AutoCAD software can run well on the Fikus VisualCAM 19 software. The program in the form of NC code generated by AutoCAD and Fikus VisualCAM19 software can be run properly by a CNC wire-cutting EDM machine, this can be seen from the product results that match the dimensions and geometry.
