Abstract

The process of implementing the selection of instructional media is essentially one application of learning technology. This research is the implementation of project-based learning in which learners will create teaching aids to study the basic competencies of the motion system. This research belongs to research design with a small-scale class trial. This research involves five randomly selected learners. Questionnaire instruments were used to measure the interest and motivation of learners after the small-scale class trial. The results of the small-scale class trial show that student interest is predominantly low, with a percentage of 25% regarding teaching aids-based instructional media, while the results of the small-scale class trial indicate that learner motivation agrees, with a percentage of 47% regarding student motivation instruments in instructional media. Learner responses to teaching aids and instructional media are quite positive, with a percentage of 60%, and they provide feedback related to providing more visuals and more appealing fonts. The implementation of project-based learning with teaching aids media in the small-scale class trial shows a positive trend and serves as a basis for improving teaching aids media for use in larger-scale class trials. Abstract

Digital learning media currently open opportunities to increase the variety of teaching and learning processes. Digital learning media or mobile learning is a term used to describe a learning media model that adopts the development of mobile technology as a learning medium, by presenting images, audio, and text. SmartApp Creator as one of the links to create mobile learning-based media. The purpose of this article is to describe digital media innovations in empowering 21st century critical thinking skills in science learning in junior high schools. Digital learning media developed with the help of SmartApp Creator software, then tested on seven junior high school students. This small-scale trial uses a survey and a written test. The survey was conducted to measure students' interest and motivation after trying learning media and teachers' opinions regarding digital learning media, while the written test was to measure students' understanding before and after being given digital learning media. The survey results show that the majority of students are interested and motivated after using digital learning media. The teachers stated that the digital learning media was in accordance with the aspects of learning suitability, audio-visual communication, and software engineering. The results of the written test showed a significant difference between before and after using this digital learning media. Based on these results, the developed digital learning media prototype was able to attract students' interest and motivation to learn. The results of this small-scale trial show that the media development research process can be continued into a large-scale trial to measure the effects of digital learning media on 21st century skills. Keywords: interest, mobile technology, motivation, SmartApp Creator.

Abstract

This development research aims to describe the feasibility of a student worksheet on acid-base to train student's scientific literacy skills based on an analysis of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This research uses Research and Development with a 4D model (Analysis, Design, Development, and Dissemination) but is limited to the development stage. Validity was obtained from the results of the assessment of 3 experts in chemistry education. The validity of the student worksheet is based on an assessment of the content, graphic, presentation, and linguistic aspects. The average score of the validity test results is 81%. Practicality and effectiveness data were obtained from a limited trial conducted in an Islamic school in Gresik Regency, East Java, on 27 students. At the trial stage, using the One Group Pretest-Posttest design. In the practicality test, it was observed from the student response questionnaire sheets and student activity sheets, including very practical criteria, each percentage was 92.45% and 92.26%. The pretest-posttest data of the student's cognitive knowledge and scientific literacy skills were tested for normality with SPSS. The data is normally distributed. Then t-test a result less than 0.05. It showed differences in the results of the pretest-posttest. The effectiveness of the student worksheet is based on increasing the n-gain score of cognitive knowledge and scientific literacy skills, obtaining a score of 85% and 86%, respectively, on the high criteria. Therefore, a student worksheet is appropriate to be used as a learning resource to train student's scientific literacy skills, making it easier to understand acid-base material and providing meaningful learning for students. Furthermore, it is expected that Indonesia's position in the literacy test will increase compared to previous years. Keywords: Worksheet, Scientific literacy skill, Acid base

Abstract

There are still a few simple teaching aids available for studying Pascal's law and hydrostatic pressure. The development of teaching aids in the form of a “mini dispenser” is intended to help students understand more in real terms and details related to Pascal's law and hydrostatic pressure. In addition, "mini dispenser" props from used goods can increase students' interest and motivation and so that learning is not abstract, so that student learning outcomes can increase. The mini dispenser model itself can be made from used or new goods. The data in this study were obtained from a questionnaire that measured the interest and motivation of students after using teaching aids. The participants involved in this study were 10 students. The results showed that the majority of students' interests and motivations were positive towards the developed teaching aids. The results of this survey indicate that the science teaching aid in the form of a mini dispenser is good from the aspect of stimulating the interest and motivation of students in science learning. Abstract

Experiential learning can help the learning process and provide a unique touch in the learning process. The application of experiential leaning models using self-created and designed learning media can help students in finding concepts independently. This research uses two types of media, namely simple props and PhET simulations, so it is hoped that students can learn according to the framework of experiential learning by finding their own concepts based on experience. This research uses a type of design research (Design Based Research), which aims to solve a complex problem and develop knowledge about a characteristic of the related product, using a semi-qualitative approach. This study involved 23 students of class VII of SMP Negeri in Pademawu, Pamekasan. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and surveys. The results of data analysis showed that the use of simple props received a good response from students and received a very decent response from validators. Keywords: experiential learning, learning process, teaching aid
