Abstract

Fatayat NU is one of the Nahdlatul Ulama autonomous bodies. As we know, Nahdlatul Ulama is the largest sosial and religious social organization in Indonesia. Like its parent, Nahdlatul Ulama, now Fatayat NU has branches that are spread in almost every city in Indonesia, one of which is in Subang Regency. This study aims to determine how the history of Fatayat NU and the develompent of Fatayat NU Subang Regency, especially in the field of regeneratios for the 2015-2020 period. The method used this study is a qualitative method, namely by collecting data through literature, documentation and interview. The data analysis technique is done by the heuristic, criticism, interpretation and historiography methods. The results of the period 2015-2020 Fatayat NU Subang Regency succeeded inaugurating as many as 30 PACs throughout Subang Regency in 2019. Where as previously only 10 PACs were successfully appointed as cadres Fatayat NU Subang Regency.

Abstract

Translation has an important role in the dissemination of knowledge, religious teachings, and culture existing throughout the world. The ex-Regent of Bandung R.A.A. Wiranatakoesoema V gave contribution to Sundanese language with his translation work in the field of religion. He translated the works of E. Dinet and Sliman bin Ibrahim by using two writing models, namely combining modern European writing in the form of prose, in line with traditional Sundanese writing traditions, called dangding. His work was published in 1941 entitled Riwajat Kangdjeng Nabi Moehammad, peace be upon him. This book became an early historical literature of prophets printed using Latin and Arabic characters, and it contributed to the translation style in the Sundanese Land.

Abstract

Before Religion in Indonesia was Islam, they have embraced Hinduism and Buddhism. Afterwards, Islam came to Indonesia around 7 century. This is one of the reasons why Indonesia has acculturation of culture between cultures of Hindu-Buddha and Islam. At Indonesia, especially at Sumedang has a unique culture that interesting is researched. The culture is Bubur Suro that does every 10 Muharam. Bubur Suro had a long history from an ancestor. the chieftain said that the way to commemorate the Islamic new year and to remember the events of the Prophet Nuh and the Flood. In addition, this is enforced, with motivation to conserve ancestor tradition. This written uses method of history consists of heuristic, criticism, interpretation and historiography. In this research, it was revealed that the Sumedang community, especially Negarawangi village, the majority of followers of Islam who still maintain Sundanese ancestral traditions, so that every 10 Muharam they celebrate the celebration of Maulud Nabi and also the Bubur Suro ceremony. In conclusion, Islam and the Sundanese tradition in the Bubur Suro ceremony become a form of acculturation that is still maintained in the Rancakalong between Islam and the Sundanese tradition. Keywords: budaya, muharam, sumedang

Abstract

The Hajj during the colonial period experienced its own challenges in addition to transportation to Mecca which was not easy. Pilgrims were also faced with the hajj policy which burdened pilgrims. This study aims to find out how the pilgrimage transportation in the colonial period, especially the nineteenth century, both in terms of health services and also the condition of the ship during the voyage. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, namely by collecting data through literature and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out with heuristic methods, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results of this study indicate that the Dutch East Indies government provided transportation facilities for Indonesian pilgrims at that time only for economic and political purposes. Hajj policies were made to suppress the increasing number of pilgrims and also to monitor pilgrims so as not to disrupt the political legitimacy of the colonial government in the Dutch East Indies. Transportation of pilgrims on the 19th century is using a sailing ship which later in the mid-19th century was replaced by a steamship. The Colonial Government paid little attention to aspects of health services and passenger comfort on board during the voyage.

Abstract

The dissemination of Islamic da'wah in the area of Rancakalong District, Sumedang Regency, began in 1957. At the time, a kiai (Islamic scholar) came from the southern Sumedang aiming to spread the Islamic da'wah in Rancakalong District. Before his arrival, The religious conditions of Rancakalong people are not so prominent. Although at that time, the mosques already existed in several places, but there was no religious leader who could guide the community yet to be able to prosper the mosque and other forms of religious activities. The  was called K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz. This study uses qualitative methods, namely data collection through interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique is done by the heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study indicate that K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz came to Rancakalong in 1957. The initial step of the preaching carried out by K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz, began with his approach to the young and the old group of the community. The contribution form of his da'wah in Rancakalong District consisted of the establishment of the Bunsiari Islamic Boarding School I, then the Majelis Taklim of Bunsiari Islamic Boarding School I, and four Madrasa Diniyah Takmiliyah which were founded by K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz’schildren.

Abstract

Al-Kafiyaji was a popular folk teacher of his time and he also mastered quite a number of scientific branches and wrote many works especially in the field of history namely the book of Mukhtasar al-MufId fi Ilmi al-Tarikh. The purpose of this study aims to determine the biography and thoughts of al-Kafiyaji in the field of history based on the book of Mukhtasar al-Mufid fi Ilmi al-Tarikh. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, namely by collecting data through literature and documentation. The data analysis technique is done by the heuristic, criticism, interpretation and historiography methods. Based on this study it was concluded that: first, Muhammad bin Sulaiman bin Saad bin Mas'ud al-Rumi Muhyiddin Abu Abdillah al-Kafiyaji al-Barumi al-Hanafi was born around 788H / 1386/7 AD in the Anatolian Caucasus region located in the Asian region of Asia small and died in Egypt, and took the education world from the land of Sham to Egypt and produced many many works especially in the field of history. Secondly, in the field of history or Tarikh he has written the work entitled Mukhtasar al-Mufid fi Ilmi al-Tarikh. In this book, al-Kafiyaji examines the principles of historiography, the basics and the problems of historiography and the virtues of experts and sciences. He also investigated the date, from the definition based on language, custom, and terminology, to the history of  the Tarikh. This book discusses the goals and conditions that must be possessed by someone who will write history.

Abstract

Pekojan village is one of the urban villages that has a historical role in the development of the Arab community in the city of Jakarta. Part of the Arabs living in the Pekojan village have developed rapidly, especially in trading, preaching, education and marriage. This activity has an impact on social relations between Arabs and the Indigenous population. With very close social relations activities, the Arabs were well received by the Indigenous population. However, most of the Arabs living in the Pekojan village moved to around Jakarta. The purpose of this research is to identify Arab communities spread across Indonesia and to know the development of Arab society in the form of social relations and activities in the Pekojan village, Jakarta. The method used in research is a qualitative method, namely by collecting data through literature and documentation. Data analysis techniques with heuristic methods, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results of the study that in the 18th century the migration of Arabs had a considerable impact on the development of the Arab community in Indonesia, especially on the island of Java. In the 19th century the wijeknstelsel policy had an impact on Arabs who came from Hadarmaut to occupy Pekojan village as a village inhabited by Arabs, such as in Pekojan village, Jakarta. In the 20th century, the Pekojan village began to be very different, some Arabs moved to around Jakarta some still settled and also built social relations and activities with the Indigenous population.

Abstract

The history of railways in Indonesia is part of the life journey of the Indonesian people. Since its emergence in the latter part of the second half of the 19th century until now, railroad is a vital and important means of transportation, both for the benefit of the government and the community. Railroad transportation facilities are a favorite for residents to go home on the first day of Eid. In recent years, homecoming has become an interesting social-religious phenomenon to discuss. The method used in this study is a historical research method which consists of: Heuristics (collection of sources), Criticism (analyzing the accuracy and credibility of sources), interpretation of data, Historiography (historical writing). The history of railways in Indonesia began when the first using of the railway line in Semarang-Vorstenlanden (Solo-Yogyakarta) in the village of Kamijen by the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies, Mr. L.A.J Baron Sloet Van De Beele on June 17, 1864. The construction was carried out by the private company Nederlansch Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij (NISM) using a width of 1435 mm. During the Dutch administration in addition to Staats Spoorwegen (SS) as a state company, there were 11 private railway companies in Java and one in Sumatra. The success of PT KAI in revolutionizing the train ticket service had a very wide impact, including serving Lebaran trip.

Abstract

Literature in Sundanese culture is constantly changing. At the end of the 19th century, Sundanese literature began to experience changes in the modern direction. This is likely due to the spread of the influence of translated European prose works. In this paper discusses how the transformation of Sundanese literature from traditional forms into modern literary forms. In addition, it also discusses the comparative analysis of literature contained in Wawacan Panji Wulung and the novel Baruang Ka Nu Ngarora. The method used in this study is to use the method of historical research supported by other disciplines, especially literature. Keywords: literature, wawacan, Sundanese novels.

Abstract

The practice of Islamic health emerged in the sixth century AD influenced by three health traditions, namely ancient civilization, Bedouin Arabic, and Thibbun Nabawi. There is no much data related to health practice around the sixth century to the seventh century BC, except for nursing conducted by Rufaidah Al-Aslamiyah. She became an important figure in developing Islamic health practice and the involvement of women in the Islamic war. The purpose of this research is to determine the description of medicine/health in the Islamic world in the classical period and the role of Rufaidah Al-Aslamiyah in her involvement nursing field of the Islamic world. The method of this research is the historical research. The research method was carried out through four-stage, they are heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the research conducted, it could be stated that the practice of world health has emerged since 7,000 BC. In the sixth to seventh centuries Rufaidah Al-Aslamiyah had an important role in the development of world health practice. She started nursing for the first time in the Islamic world. Some of her important roles include: establishing a nursing school, participating in the war, establishing a field hospital, creating a nurse code of ethics, developing Islamic spiritual services, and being active in social activities in the city of Medina. It has also been proven that the first nursing knowledge was not conceived by Florence Nightingale in the 19th century, however, it has existed since the sixth century by Rufaidah Al-Aslamiyah. Keywords: Health practice, Islamic health practice, nursing.
