Abstract

The development of multicultural education in post-reform Indonesia is against the backdrop of a very plural and heterogeneous region in Indonesia. It is hoped that this study can be a solution to maintain social harmony. This writing aims to describe: (1) How local content is the basis of multicultural education, (2) how history is related to multicultural education, (3) how multicultural education is taught in schools. This writing uses a form of descriptive writing through literature study related to the chosen topic. Based on the results of the data search obtained, the following conclusions can be drawn. First, local content can become a formal basis for implementing multicultural education based on history and culture as stated in the regulations of the Minister of Education and Culture. The aim is to develop students' abilities related to the environment in the social, cultural and artistic fields. Second, history has a close and intimate relationship with multiculturalism. Existing culture is the result of growth and development in the past, so to know and recognize it, it is necessary to look at history. Multicultural education is seen as a way to convey diversity, plurality and tolerance through educational channels. Third, multicultural education is in line with the development of local history studies. So that the two can fuse and then be integrated as a local charge. It is given by inserting a periodization of the history of the Islamic sultanate into history subject. Keywords: Multicultural, history, Islamic sultanate

Abstract

This study undertook a comprehensive examination of Project-Based Learning (PBL) implementation in STEM curricula, bridging the gap from theory to practice. Through a rigorous exploration, the research aimed to investigate the practical implications of incorporating PBL into STEM education. The study's objectives were to assess the impact of PBL on academic performance, critical thinking skills, and overall Engagement among students in STEM disciplines. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and observational analysis, data was collected and analyzed to provide a nuanced understanding of the experiences and outcomes associated with PBL. The findings revealed a significant improvement in academic performance, with students exposed to PBL exhibiting heightened Engagement and a notable surge in interest in STEM subjects. Critical thinking skills experienced substantial enhancement, highlighting the practical implications of PBL in developing essential cognitive abilities. The study contributed to the existing literature by validating the positive outcomes of PBL. It offered valuable insights for educators and curriculum developers seeking to implement effective, experiential learning strategies in STEM education. The research, conducted in the past tense, presents a comprehensive exploration of the transition from theoretical concepts to the practical application of PBL in STEM curricula.

Abstract

Neuronal synchronization, a fascinating and complex phenomenon in neuroscience, unfolds as a mesmerizing dance of coordinated firing among groups of neurons, ultimately giving rise to distinct brain rhythms. This research aims to begin a comprehensive exploration of the profound impact of neural synchronization on cognition, particularly in the educational landscape. This research method uses a qualitative and literature review type of research. Primary data sources use several supporting references such as books, research journals, and websites. The data analysis technique uses content analysis. This research suggests that the learning experience is personalized and adaptive, which is dynamically shaped by the principle of neural synchronization. The potential benefits of inclusive education become clear, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and accommodating the diverse cognitive profiles of learners. In essence, this paper positions neural synchronization as a scientific concept and a guiding principle poised to revolutionize pedagogy. The complex interactions between neuroscience and education presented through the lens of neuro synchronization hint at a future where scientific insights not only inform teaching strategies that are intricately woven into the fabric of our cognitive processes but also research invites readers to embark on a journey that transcends disciplinary boundaries, illuminating the transformative potential that understanding neural synchrony has for the evolution of education.
