Abstract

Ice cream sellers from South Sulawesi are members of an organization called PCM (Manokwari Ice Cream Sellers). Their weakness is the lack of knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurship. This causes them to experience no significant changes in their welfare and patterns of economic activity. The absence of other skills, as well as the difficulty of diversifying their businesses, will reduce the income of ice cream business actors. Entrepreneurship training and financial management activities for ice cream sellers who are members of PCM Manokwari were held four times (March 04 2022, March 18 2022, April 01 2022, April 15 2022). The location for the implementation of the activity is at the Makasar Complex, Wosi-Manokwari. This activity was attended by 16 ice cream sellers, although and each subsequent meeting fluctuated, but not less than 50% of the initial total attendance. This indicates that the entrepreneurship and financial management training provided was quite well received. Keywords: Entrepreneurship training; Financial management; Ice cream sellers

Abstract

Tuban Regency applies a concept of an efficient livestock business considering that there are many potentials and opportunities that have not been utilized and managed optimally. Parengan Subdistrict is one of the areas in Tuban Regency with high potential for beef cattle and goats. The increase in the price of chemical fertilizers followed by restrictions on subsidized fertilizer quotas is the main problem of these communities. The potential raw materials that can be used to make organic fertilizers are available quite a lot in the area. The implementation of the PKM Community Service is carried out by approaching methods to solve partner problems. Community empowerment, especially breeders, is directed at activities to increase competitiveness and community participation through increasing the capacity and institutionalization of farmer human resources with various socialization counseling and training on making organic fertilizer for ruminant waste as a substitute for chemical fertilizers. The results achieved are in the form of improving the skills and knowledge of partners to process ruminant waste into organic fertilizer. Key words: Cow; Goat; Manure; Organic; Ruminant

Abstract

Cats are pets that many people, including in Yogyakarta, are keeping. Various kinds of diseases can attack cats, but not all owners are able to check their cat's health status. This community service aims to carry out health checks for cats owned by the community especially animal owners who are customers of the Veterinary Clinic of Internal Medicine, FVM-UGM. The service was carried out from April to October 2022 by checking the cat's health status directly. The service has been conducted and can carry out examinations and therapy of 20 cats. Based on the examination, it was found that 17 cats (85%) were diagnosed as sick and three healthy cats (15%). The three main diseases found were skin, digestive and urinary systems. Through medical examinations by students accompanied by veterinarians in the Department of Internal Medicine, cat owners have been invited to watch and given information regarding disease diagnosis, therapy, and how to administer medicine. The owner already understands the cat’s health status, agree to the action and treatment and can provide medicine for the sick cat. It was concluded that the community service for cat health examination had been successfully carried out on 20 cats, and the owner knew the condition of the cat and was able to give the medicine given. Abstract

Coffee plant (Coffea arabica) is a superior plant to be developed in the Arfak mountain region due to suitable agro-climatic conditions. The way to develop it can be done in various ways, one of which is to develop it independently using seeds from farmers' gardens. This goal can be achieved if the local farming community is able to prepare seeds that HAVE high growth potential and are healthy, free from pests and diseases, especially diseases that are transmitted through the soil (seed born pathogens). The method used includes first, mentoring and discussion at the Kwau Village Hall which includes lectures and discussions about generative nurseries and the use of Trichoderma spp to treat soil borne diseases. The second method is a demonstration of how to plant cocoa seedlings in the farmer's garden accompanied by the application of Trichoderma spp. Both methods were successfully implemented and the community showed high enthusiasm as seen from the questions asked. In this mentoring activity, 60 coffee seedlings were distributed to be developed by coffee farmers. Keywords: Arabica coffee; Kwau; Trichoderma spp.

Abstract

As the flagship program of the Ministry of Culture, Higher Education, research and Technology through the Freedom to Learn the Independent Campus (MBKM) policy where students are required to master and be ready for the increasingly rapid development of science and technology. The free form MBKM activities carried out by the Faculty of Forestry UNIPA in 2022 are centered on Mansinam Island, the UNIPA campus and the Planning and GIS Laboratory of the UNIPA Faculty of Forestry involving parties outside the campus who come from the support of the Indonesia Mapping Community (IMC). The participants, which consisted of 9 students from the Faculty of Forestry UNIPA Bachelor of Forestry Study Program, were required to be able to develop science and technology that had a direct impact on the community, especially in honing hard and soft skills in using mapping/GIS applications and technology and being directly involved with the community. The purpose of this activity is to document the stages of the free front MBKM process and research on participatory mapping activities in compiling a land openness map on Mansinam Island. The results of the documentation of the free form MBKM activities of the Faculty of Forestry, UNIPA in 2022: include activities (i) Classroom learning, (ii) Learning in the form of work practices/Professional internships, (iii) Learning in the form of research, and (iv) Learning in the form of community service society can run well and successfully. The results of learning activities in the form of research produce a map of the distribution of open land covering an area of 300,244.56 m2 or 7.4% of the total area of Mansinam Island. Several administrative obstacles need to be fixed, but it is hoped that the 2023 MBKM program for the Faculty of Forestry will become the flagship MBKM program at the University of Papua and can be attended by all students in Indonesia.
