Abstract

Breakfast is beneficial for adolescents in order to maintain endurance and increase concentration in learning. About 44.60% of adolescents in Indonesia almost never have breakfast and 21.33% of them reason that there is no time for breakfast. Many factors influence knowledge about nutrition, attitudes and behavior at breakfast among adolescents, including educational factors. These factors are important to note because getting used to breakfast is one of the general messages of balanced nutrition. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of nutrition education using animated video media on nutritional knowledge, attitudes and breakfast behavior. This research was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest with control group design. The research was conducted in two junior high schools in Tulungagung District, East Java Province, Indonesia. This research took place in September 2022. Respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The dependent variables in this study were knowledge about nutrition, breakfast attitudes and behavior; while the independent variable was nutrition education using animated videos. Data was collected using a form of knowledge about nutrition, attitudes and breakfast behavior. The collected data were analyzed using the T-test. The results showed that there were differences in the level of knowledge about nutrition, attitudes and breakfast behavior between before and after the intervention with p values of 0.001 respectively; 0.026 and 0.011. Furthermore, it can be concluded that nutrition education using animated video media is effective in increasing knowledge about nutrition, attitudes and breakfast behavior in adolescents. It is hoped that educators and health workers can use animated videos as learning media. Keywords: adolescents; animated videos; nutrition; nutritional knowledge; attitude; breakfast behavior

Abstract

The first stage of labor begins with regular uterine contractions followed by cervical dilatation and effacement until the cervix is fully dilated. Anxiety, stress and long labor pain during labor can affect uterine contractions, so that it can affect the length of the first stage of labor. Hypnobirthing can be trained during pregnancy and applied by the mother herself during the delivery process which is useful for reducing and overcoming pain and anxiety during labor so that uterine contractions are more adequate and labor can take place in a relaxed, comfortable and brief manner. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the length of the first stage of labor between mothers who had hypnobirthing and without hypnobirthing. The design of this study was a clinical trial with a randomized control trial. The independent variable was hypnobirthing and the dependent variable was the length of the first stage. Data were analyzed using Chi-square and independent sample t-test. The results showed that the average length of the first stage with hypnobirthing was shorter (10.09) hours than without hypnobirthing (17.23) hours with a difference of 6.74 hours. Hypnobirthing, if performed at 37-40 weeks of gestation, had a 1.96 times greater effect on decreasing the length of the first stage of labor with an effect strength of 5.7%, statistically and clinically the reduction effect was significant. The conclusion of the study is that the duration of the first stage of labor is shorter than using hypnobirthing compared to without hypnobirthing. Keywords: hypnobirthing; length of labor

The purpose of the study was to explain the analysis of the effect of providing health education on exclusive breastfeeding with print media and social media on knowledge of breastfeeding mothers. This literature review design used a meta-analysis with a pre-post contrast meta-analysis design. Statistical data analysis was carried out computerized by using the metamar program to analyze standardized mean difference on the effect size. The results of the meta-analysis of literauture review on the effect of providing health education on exclusive breastfeeding with printed media on changes in knowledge of breastfeeding mothers obtained a p-value of 0.0013 (< 0.005) which means that there is a significant influence between print media and knowledge of breastfeeding mothers. The results of the meta-analysis of literature review on the effect of providing health education on exclusive breastfeeding with social media on changes in knowledge of breastfeeding mothers obtained a p-value of 0.0000 (< 0.005) which means that there is a significant influence between print media and knowledge of breastfeeding mothers. Abstract

Iron deficiency anemia is one of the biggest micro problems in Indonesia which occurs in toddlers, school children, pregnant women and teenagers. Adolescence is a transition period from childhood to adulthood and the beginning of the separation of nutritional needs based on gender. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and compliance of young women and consuming iron tablets at SMPN 1 Makale Utara. This type of research was analytical observational. Researchers applied a cross-sectional design in this study. Subjects were 50 female students, selected using stratified random sampling technique based on representatives of each class. The measurements of the two variables above were carried out by filling out questionnaires directly by young women. The hypothesis testing was carried out using the Chi-square test. Table 4 shows that the better the level of knowledge, the higher the level of compliance with taking iron tablets. The p value from the results of hypothesis testing was 0.001, so it was interpreted that the level of knowledge was correlated with the level of compliance of young female students in consuming iron tablets. Based on the research results, it could be concluded that the compliance of young women at SMPN 1 Makale Utara in consuming iron tablets is related to their level of knowledge. Abstract

Adolescents who have menstruated need to know about the body and reproductive organs, physical and psychological changes, so that they can protect themselves from risks that threaten the health and safety of the function of the reproductive organs. Neglect of reproductive health can cause infections of the reproductive organs and affect infertility or sterility. One of the risk factors for reproductive tract infections is poor menstrual hygiene. This research aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes and the behavior of maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation among Class XI students at SMKS Lakipadada. This research was a cross-sectional study. The respondents were 53 female students at the Lakipadada Vocational School from class XI, consisting of nursing majors = 21 people, TKJ majors = 17 people, pharmacy majors = 15 people, selected using total population sampling. All variables were measured through filling out a questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed using Chi-square test. The p-value for the correlation analysis between knowledge and behavior was 0.000, so it was interpreted that knowledge was correlated with behavior in maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation. The same result (p = 0.000) was obtained from the results of the correlation analysis between attitude and behavior, so it was interpreted that attitude was correlated with the behavior of maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation. Based on the research results, it could be concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes and the behavior of maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation in class XI female students at SMKS Lakipadada, Tana Toraja.
