Abstract

This study aims to determine the opportunities and challenges of the Bali cattle fattening business in Napano Kusambi District, West Muna Regency which was carried out in July 2021. Determination of the research location by Purposive Sampling with a sample of 10 respondents/village, with a total of 60 respondents from 6 villages using the method survey utilizing interviews, observation, and documentation and analyzed descriptively. The results of the research on opportunities for developing a Bali cattle fattening business in Napano Kusambi District are the age of the breeder is classified as productive, the experience of raising livestock, the family workforce involved, the ownership of 1-5 cattle, natural grass feed is still available, the ownership of livestock between 1-5 heads, land which is quite extensive and the challenges of developing a fattening business are livestock as a sideline business, the number of males is small, an extensive maintenance system, no addition of concentrate feed, unavailable cages, fattening is still a pasture fattening system, lack of disease management, and lack of livestock extension workers.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the goat farming system in Kolaka Regency by collecting research data from primary and secondary data. The determination of the research location was carried out by purposive sampling, namely choosing the research location intentionally based on the consideration that the research location had the largest population of goats in Kolaka Regency in 2021. The selected subdistricts were Watubangga, Toari, and Tanggetada Districts. Each sub-district is represented by 3 villages and each village consists of 10 farmers as research respondents. The results of research on goat breeding systems in Kolaka Regency are generally carried out intensively (36.7%), semi-intensively (32.2%), and extensively (31.1%). The characteristics of the breeder include the age of the breeder, a person's education level, feeding, as well as housing.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the appropriate acidifying materials between vinegar, lime and pineapple in order to produce mayonnaise with good quality in terms of physical quality (pH and emulsion stability) and organoleptic (taste, aroma and color). The results showed that the use of different acidifying materials vinegar, lime and pineapple, showed significant differences in the physical quality of mayonnaise, both pH and emulsion stability and had no effect on organoleptic tests in this case the taste, aroma and color of mayonnaise. The use of different acidifying materials did not show a significant difference. For the physical quality of mayonnaise, the best treatment was obtained by using lime

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the income, and business of Geprek Bossku restaurant. The research variables are (a) the characteristics of the respondents; (b) business profile; (c) investment costs; (d) production costs; and (e) acceptance. The research data were analyzed using income analysis, revenue, cost acceptance analysis (R/C Ratio), cost-benefit analysis (B/C Ratio), and depreciation expense. The results showed that the income earned at the Ayam Geprek Bossku restaurant business in Poasia District, Kendari City was Rp. 131.058.333/month.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the factors that influence the demand for beef in the city of Kendari. The data used is secondary data (time series) for 5 years in the form of beef demand data (kg), beef price (Rp/kg), population (person), people's per capita income (Rp), chicken meat price (Rp /kg) and the price of rice (Rp/kg). Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study show that the factors that influence the demand for beef in Kendari City are the price of beef, population, income, rice prices and chicken prices. Beef prices, population, people's income, and chicken prices have a significant effect on the demand for beef in Kendari City.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide information on the leading commodities in the livestock sub-sector and the direction of its development. This research is also expected to provide an overview of the priority scale for livestock business development. The method used in this research is descriptive method. This method is used to describe an object through data, namely the leading commodity in the livestock sub-sector in Semangga District, Merauke Regency. The determination of the location was determined deliberately based on the consideration that the majority of the people in Semangga District are transmigrants whose livelihoods are farmers and ranchers. While the respondents in this research were all breeders in the Semangga District. The data analysis used is Location Quotient (LQ) and Differential Shift (DS) analysis in Shift Share Analysis (SSA). LQ analysis is carried out in order to answer the leading commodities in the livestock sub-sector and SSA analysis is used to see the direction of business development in the livestock sub-sector. The main commodities of the livestock sub-sector in Semangga District are cattle, goats, native chickens, laying hens, and ducks. Cattle in Waninggap Nanggo, Matara, Sidomulyo, Semangga Jaya, Kuprik and Waninggap Kai Villages. The directions for the development of the livestock sub-sector in the Semangga District are cattle in Semangga Jaya Village, goats in Muram Sari Village, native chickens in Kuprik Village, laying hens in Sidomulyo Village and ducks in Waninggap Nanggo Village.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to identify and analyze external genetic diversity and the introgression rate of bangkok chickens in the city. This research was carried out from November to December 2022 in Kendari City. The materials used in this study were 400 bangkok chickens, consisting of 200 males and 200 tails with an age range of 6 months to 2 years. The variables observed in this study were qualitative traits which included coat color, comb shape and shank color, and introgression rate. The results of the study of the highest controlling gene frequency for external characteristics in Bangkok chickens in Kendari City were colored feather color (ii) (100%), wild feather pattern (e+_) (33,50%), golden glitter (ss) (66,50%) plain coat pattern (bb) (72,75%), white shank color (idid) (55%) and pea comb shape (P_) (99,25%). The value of influence (introgression) from Europeans and Americans on Bangkok chicken in this study was very high, namely 58,65% with an authenticity level of 49,25%. Based on the average heterozygosity value, Bangkok chicken is relatively high with an average expected heterozygosity value of 36,95% per individual.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the business income of laying hens breeders UD. Unggas Mandiri, Konda District, South Konawe Regency. This research was conducted from July to August at UD. Unggas Mandiri, Konda District, South Konawe Regency. The research location was determined purposively (purposive sampling) on the consideration that the location contained laying hens which had a relatively large population. Respondents in this study were business owners and employees of UD. Unggas Mandiri, Konda District, South Konawe Regency. The results showed that the income earned in the UD. Unggas Mandiri, Konda District, South Konawe Regency, which has an income of 465,385,185 per period. Laying chicken farming business UD. Unggas Mandiri, Konda District, South Konawe Regency is feasible to run based on the R/C Ratio value of 1.17 and the B/C Ratio value of 0.17.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of substitution of commercial feed with local feed on the performance of quail (Coturnix-coturnix japonica) production. This research was conducted at the Field Laboratory of Animal Production Science and Technology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University using 64 quails in the grower phase (unsex), using commercial feed BP11 and local feed (milled corn and dried tofu dregs). The variables measured were feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The research design used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The data obtained included feed consumption, body weight gain and conversion were analyzed by analysis of variance. The results showed that substitution treatment of BP 11 commercial feed with local corn and tofu dregs up to 19% had no effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, PBB and quail feed conversion.

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the effect of hydrogen peroxide sterilization on fertility, embryo viability, hatchability and hatching weight of laying hens’ egg that are crossbreed with fighting cock. This reseach used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) as the design of research with 3 treatments and 6 replications, so there were 18 experimental units. Each experimental unit consist of 10 eggs so that the number of hatching eggs was used 180 eggs. Treatment consist of: P0 = water without hydrogen peroxide addition, P1 = water contained 2% of hydrogen peroxide, P2 = water contained 4% of hydrogen peroxide. The reseach variables were fertility, embryo viability, hatchability and hatching weight. The result of research showed that the average percentage of fertility, embryo viability, hatchability and hatching weight of chicken eggs in this research were 78,47%, 90,02%, 80,34% and 41,67g respectively. The result of the analysis of variance showed that the treatment had effect on fertility, but had no significant effect on embryo viability, hatchability and hatching weight of laying hens’ egg that are crossbreed with fighting cock. The conclusion of this research was eggs that cleaned with 2% hydrogen peroxide solution produced a high percentage of fertility
