J-Sil (Jurnal Teknik Sipil dan Lingkungan or Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineering) was established in 2016 and managed by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, IPB University (Bogor Agricultural University). The journal aims at disseminating original and quality academic papers that deemed potential to contribute to the advancement of science and technology in the field of civil and environmental engineering to support sustainable developments. Abstract

In 2017, Jakarta was ranked as 7th most congested city in the world. To overcome the problem of congestion in Jakarta, the Government implements the construction of road infrastructure through 6 toll roads inside Jakarta City, but the construction causes pros and contra regarding the effects of induced demand. This research aimed to analyze the service level of Bekasi Raya road on existing and toll roads in Jakarta City and analyzing Bekasi Raya road performance after the operation of the toll road and the off ramp impact of toll road. The analysis were conducted based on Indonesian Road Capacity Manual 1997, the Greenshield model, and the Highway Capacity Manual 2000. The result showed that the level of road service in segment 1 was C for Bekasi and D for the Pulogadung direction. In segment 2 the level of service was E for both directions, and in segment 3 the level of service was C. The level of the toll road service was C for both directions. The toll roads construction would increase the level of road service to C and reduce vehicle volume of 64,1% in Bekasi direction and 45,2% for Pulogadung (Jakarta) direction. The off ramp impact was the the toll road would not experience significant congestion until 2035.

Abstract

IPB University Dramaga has three units of WTP, two units at WTP Ciapus and one unit at WTP Cihideung. WTP produce sludge from alum coagulant and were disposed directly into water bodies. The purpose of this study were to identify the volume and characteristics of the sludge generation, comparing the sludge quality with regulations, and provide alternative recommendations for sludge management. Sludge samples were taken from effluent of clarifier and filtration. The sludge generated in the WTP Ciapus 1 was 18.63 kg/day while in the WTP Cihideung was 85.51 kg/day. The characteristics of the sludge produced were liquid and inorganic. The sludge pH of some samples in WTP Ciapus did not met the quality standards. Temperature, concentration of COD, iron (Fe), and aluminum (Al) fulfilled the quality standards. The sludge from WTP IPB Campus can be processed by collecting and drying. Dried sludge can be used as compost and the backwash residue can be recycled.

Abstract

Road widening is a construction phase of Jakarta-Cikampek II elevated Toll Road construction project. Improving the effectiveness and road service capability influence the traffic activity. This study aimed to analyze alternative rigid pavement design and thickness based on the Road Pavement Design Manual (MDPJ) 2017 and American Association of State High-way and Transportation Officials Guide for Design of Pavement Structures (AASTHO) 1993. This research was conducted on March – May 2019. Based on the obtained data, a rigid pavement design alternative using the MDPJ 2017 method showed concrete plate thickness of 305 mm and using the AASHTO 1993 concrete plate thickness was 320 mm. In actual condition the concrete plate thickness was 300 mm.

Abstract

Before planning and designing a small dam, land’s topographic mapping and water flow pattern’s analysis are needed. The aim of this research were to identify the land use, water catchment areas, water flow pattern, and analyze land’s topographic condition, as well as producing topographic maps and calculating inundation volume at small dam location at IPB Campus Darmaga. This research was conducted in April - July 2019. The land use around the small dam location consisted of forests, roads, grasslands, bare land, settlements, and agriculture lands. The catchment area of the small dam location was divided into four area, with an area of 2881.0 m2, 4531.0 m2, 2790.0 m2, and 10917.3 m2 respectively. The highest and lowest elevations based on land measurements at small dam location were 199.71 masl and 187.23 masl. The topographic map was created using Surfer 13 software with the most appropriate interpolation method was natural neighbor. The direction of the surface water flow was relatively uniform and leads to the North and South. The minimum and maximum of inundation volume were 1.5 m3 and 13752.8 m3, and the optimum inundation volume was 2824.8 m3.

Abstract

The high potential earthquake in Indonesia made the earthquake an important factor in the planning of a building. The study aims to do the way of modeling, analyzing the inner style, displacement occurring in the current earthquake structure and knowing the vibration period and the stiffness of the structure. Research conducted in Kelapa Gading North Jakarta. Research using secondary data obtained from KSO Jaya Konstruksi-Adhikarya by using CSI Bridge. The flyover modeling is based on secondary data. The results show that 12 vibration modes may occur in the flyover structure. The largest period occurred in mode 1 that was equal to 0.84 sec which represented the behavior of the structure so that the total stiffness value of the structure was 275512.95 kN/m. Structures can be categorized as a flexible structure. Displacement is the structure of 92.5 mm and is still below the value of allowable displacement so it could be classified as the safe category. The force that occurs in the structure of the axial force, shear force, torsion, and flexure moment. Keywords: CSI Bridge, displacement, earthquake, flyover, force.

Abstract

The waste that loaded to the Talang Gulo Landfill in 2018 is 1,012.234 m3/day and is predicted to produce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions such as CH4 and N2O. The purpose of this study was to create a waste management layout, to determine the generation data and composition of waste in Jambi city and calculate the estimated amount of Greenhouse Gas (GHG). The calculation of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in this study used from Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC) 2006 method. Sampling results show that the average waste generation in Jambi City is 0.207 kg/person/day. Food waste, plastics, and paper were the dominant components from the composition of waste in landfill by 47,381%, 20.565%, and 13.096%. CH4 emissions generated from landfill zone VI in 2019 amounted to 4,695×10-2 Gg and would increase to 16,608×10-2 Gg in 2030. Greenhouse gas emissions generated from the composting zone consisted of 8,6×10-4 Gg CH4 and 5,16×10-5 Gg N2O in 2019 and 9,5×10-4 Gg CH4 and 5,7×10-5 Gg N2O in 2030. Emissions from heavy equipment activity in 2019 amounted to 1,065 Gg CO2. Estimates of greenhouse gas emissions are useful for taking steps to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.

Abstract

PT. Indonesia Power UPJP Priok is a power generation industry that manages wastewater by a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). Analysis of wastewater quality and removal efficiency (RE) needs to be conducted to fulfill the quality standards. This study aimed to analyze water quality and removal efficiency of WWTP. The materials used in the study was wastewater laboratory test results for 5 years. The results showed that the pH, TSS, oil and fat contents, Cl2, Cr, Cu, Fe, Zn, and phosphate in the inlet decreased after the processing at WWTP. The waste output at WWTP had fulfilled the quality standard. The highest RE unit value of WWTP for TSS, oil and fat, Cl2, Cr, Cu, Fe, Zn, and phosphate were 21.3%, 2.4%, 12.5 %, 15.6%, 7.8%, 25.7%, 5.7%, and 46.2%. WWTP RE values between years do not differ significantly. However, RE values in several years showed that WWTP units were less efficient which were showed by low RE values. WWTP units should be maintained every two years.

Abstract

Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) claimed the landslide incident on 5 May 2015 in Pangalengan District caused gas pipelines owned by PT. Geothermal Star Energy exploded, 9 people died, 154 displaced and 10 houses buried. Based on the facts, it is necessary to make an effort to reduce the risk of landslides by utilizing satellite imagery. The purpose of this study was to identify potential landslides on the Pangalengan highway and make recommendations mitigation actions for the local government. The method used was using 2 estimation system models made by the Directorate of Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation in 2004 and 2005. The result of the DVMBG 2004 showed the very high classification had a percentage of 97.24% and the DVMBG 2005 result showed the high classification reached 53.26% and the very high classification reached 53.26%. The potential for landslides on the Pangalengan road is 98.37%. Recommended mitigation actions were cutting slopes or making soil retaining walls or drainage channel planning.

Abstract

There are various road construction projects in Indonesia, but most of these projects still use conventional methods in evaluating road geometry. This study aims to evaluate the geometry of the road using UAV and analyze the accuracy and accuracy of photogrammetry in the evaluation of road geometry. This research took place at Dramaga's IPB Campus on Meranti street and was conducted from April to July 2019. From a series of processes that have been carried out it can produce accuracy of measuring 97,243% and 98,296% across the road for orthophoto results without and with coordinate correction and using GCP. For accuracy in this study obtained a value of 0.858 m so that it can be concluded that the data processing map is included in the class 3 horizontal accuracy. The horizontal alignment parameters analyzed in this study are bend angles, turn radius, and turn length, there are two curves analyzed. For the value of each parameter each turn successively for data without coordinate correction and elevation is 149 °; 90 °; 40.61 m; 53.75 m; 23.39 m; 90.71 m. The results of horizontal alignment analysis for data with coordinate correction are 150 °; 88 °; 30.81 m; 49.34 m; 21.39 m; 89.3 m. The vertical alignment analyzed in this study has two parameters, namely vertical curvature and slope. The value of the analysis results for the two parameters of the two points for results with correction and without correction of coordinates are 16.08%, 17.22%, 53 m, 51 m and 6.88%, 3.77%, 53 m, and 51 m .

Abstract

The congestion at the PLN intersection Kaliurang street Km 8 is the reason of Unofficial Officers or so-called "Pak Ogah" act as traffic regulators or assist in the movement of driving from minor roads to major roads. Therefore, the objective of the study was to determine the impact of Unofficial Officers on the performance of intersections. The survey was conducted for 3 days which were volume survey, a survey of vehicle speed, driving behavior, and length of the queue. VISSIM modeling analysis results showed that using signals was better than existing conditions with a decrease in the average delay value of 18.44% and a decrease in the average queue length of 80.34%. Meanwhile, the condition of intersections with unofficial officers decreased by an average delay of 22.10% compared to existing conditions. However, the average queued length by unofficial officers increased by 22.54% compared to existing conditions. Although the results of delays with Unofficial Officers were better than other conditions, arrangements by unofficial officers had many conflicts, creating the risk of accidents at the intersection.
