Abstract

The LGBT phenomenon is increasingly spreading among the wider community. The existence of social media allows everyone to access information quickly and easily. The church, which is directly related to the social environment, also takes an attitude towards this phenomenon. There are many different attitudes raised by a particular church or denomination. Therefore, this paper aims to find out carefully about the Bible's view of LGBT as the basis for forming a Christian ethical paradigm. The result of this research is that LGBT acts are a sin in God’s view. God does not want people to commit LGBT acts. But on the other hand, as an agent that embodies the application of God's love, the church is required to continue to follow LGBT people and provide faith formation and preventive measures to the congregation.

Abstract

There are many problems in ministry because God's servants do not have principles or standards of service that become a reference so that it has an impact on conflicts of interest so that God's church does not experience growth. Calling and equipping ministers to build up the body of Christ which must be built up to the certain standards and qualities desired by God. By using descriptive qualitative analysis in Ephesians 4: 11-16, it can be explained how the minister is called, equipped to produce unity of faith in the Son of God, produce full maturity and produce a growth rate according to the fullness of Christ. Every believer is required to experience progress and growth in his life both physically and spiritually. This growth has a definite and clear direction that is sourced and focused on Christ Himself. The expected result from understanding the principles of service according to Ephesians 4: 11-16 is the growth of service, both in quantity and quality. That is having the confidence of salvation, a healthy prayer life, perseverance in reading the Word of God, faithfulness in fellowship and the habit of witnessing.

Abstract

Sermon plays an important role in Christian worship because it is the proclamation of God's word to the people. There are several models of preaching that can be applied by the preacher, one of which is the topical preaching model. Unfortunately, there are preachers who do not understand the essence of topical preaching by using Bible verses as a cover for other topics the preacher wants to address. This study is descriptive-evaluative about the topical preaching model and how it is implemented for Christian preachers so that readers are able to reconstruct the meaning of the topical sermons that have been carried out so far. This study finds that topical preaching is preaching that has advantages and disadvantages. This sermon model is in demand by many preachers because it is easier to prepare and effective in delivery. However, the preacher needs to be aware of the abuse of the topical method of inserting ideas into the biblical text (eisegesis). In fact, all preaching methods including topical must be exposition with the correct hermeneutic method.

Abstract

Christian Faith Resilience Amidst the Era of Disruption. The current era of disruption which is marked by the birth of various innovations and new technologies cannot be avoided by all people, organizations and churches. The era of disruption will affect the Christian faith, so that the attitudes, policies and culture adopted by believers who are Christian to the influence caused by this era of disruption will greatly determine the continuity of their Christian faith, whether it will continue to grow or will die completely. With a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, the author proposes a conceptual frame of the role of the challenge of Christian faith in the era of disruption. The main source of analysis includes research results contained in journals and books, which are analyzed by looking at the relationship and compatibility with the title of the writing. The results of this study on the era of disruption and dimensions of Christian faith are then used to formulate the concept of resilience of the Christian faith in the era of disruption. There are eight main attitudes that must be developed in order to maintain Christian faith in this era of disruption.

Abstract

Many pastors have become stumbling blocks due to their inability to dedicate their lives to God's calling, in applying pastoral principles. Through a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, the author describes the theological review of the shepherding principle being the main goal of exegesis in Jeremiah 23: 1-4. So that the pastor's role can be maximized by understanding and actualizing the principles of shepherding. The principle of shepherding in Jeremiah 23: 1-4 found that shepherding is the ministry of finding the lost and scattered congregations, gathering the scattered congregations and bringing them back to worship and giving courage not to be afraid to face the problems at hand. Pastors are also required to care about the condition of their congregation both physically and spiritually. The pastor must care for, find and gather the congregation back.

Abstract

Salvation is a mighty work that Jesus did for all mankind. This is a serious problem for humans, namely the settlement of sins, which can also be explored from the Book of Acts. Yet many people feel that the Book of Acts is merely church history and does not have a strong contribution to the history of salvation. Based on the above facts, it is necessary to present the theologies in the Book of Acts and their contribution to the work of salvation for mankind. And the Book of Acts is also the starting point of a movement for God's church which is the basis of the gospel message to all people. Through the theological concepts that appear in the Book of Acts of the Apostles will be implemented for believers and the church today, so as to become a strong foundation for the movement of God's church in the work of the history of salvation until the end of time.

Abstract

Many have attacked the inerrancy and infability of the Bible. Inherence which means free from defects, in writing and infability means infallibility, in the teachings, which conservative evangelicals hold firm to the Bible, are always under attack and accusations, that the Bible is no longer authentic. Through descriptive qualitative methods with library studies, it can be concluded that there is a role of archeology and the dating of dead sea scrolls so that in the Qumran Old Testament, which is approximately 2,200 years old, it adds one manuscript evidence about the authenticity of copying. The Scriptures of no religion have documentary evidence like this. More importantly, the contribution of The Dead Sea Scrolls is evident through the acknowledgment of the world of critical scholarship which must undeniably admit that the events of Jesus are historical events, not as they have been about

Abstract

Effective communication is actually not based on whether many or a few messages are communicated by both the husband and wife, but lies in the reasons and the delivery procedures. It is rare for a married couple and a family to have the same language of love or the main language of love. Married couples have a tendency to use their respective primary love languages, and in the end, husband and wife often get confused if they don't even understand what their husband or wife actually communicates. This is the crux of the problem. The method used in writing this journal is an analysis based on a bibliography so as to find the concept of the language of love for husband and wife relationships.
