Abstract

The existence of orchid species in Gunung Tampomas Natural Tourism Park is still not widely known. The existence of orchids many endangered by both natural decay and excessive exploitation of orchids. Communities in Gunung Tampomas Natural Tourism Park had very little information about the beauty and benefits in particular, because of the lack of information regarding the species of orchids in the Gunung Tampomas Natural Tourism Park. The object of research is inventaritation of orchid species to conservation of orchid species in Gunung Tampomas Natural Tourism Park. The method of the research used by Exploration with determination cruise lines based LMU (Land Mapping Units). The result of orchid species are 11 species of epiphytes which has been identified as many as 10 species; one species is identified only to genus and 2 species of terrestrial orchid.

Abstract

The existence of Javan langurs is currently increasingly threatened due to several factors, such as deforestation which causes reduced availability of forage. Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Pananjung Pangandaran is one of the habitats of Javan langurs and has an abundance of tree diversity and does not yet have data on the abundance of feed types. The objective of research was to determine the abundance of Javan langur food trees in TWA Pananjung Pangandaran. The method used is by modifying the status and abundance category based on the results of vegetation analysis. Javan langur food trees species in TWA Pananjung Pangandaran consist of 30 species from 28 families. The abundance of Javan langur feed in TWA Pananjung Pangandaran at the pole level vegetation there were 3 types which included the category of very much abundance, category of abundance there were 3 types, category of low abundance there were 3 types, and category of very little abundance was found in 2 species. Abundance at the tree level consists of a very large category of 6 species, a large category consisting of 6 species, a low category consisting of 6 species, and a very low category consisting of 5 species.

Abstract

The observation of distribution and abundance of Javan slow loris (Nycticebus javanivus) was carried out in Sumedang district area (West Java), which includes at TWA Gunung Tampomas. The objective of the research is to investigate the distribution and abundance of Javan slow loris at side and outside of protected forest in support the conservation management of slow loris. Observation location was between protected forest and agricultural area an altitude of 600 to 900 m above sea level. The result only on the three lines transect Javan Slow loris were found with total 11 individual. The population is less than the population outside the site research. Twenty-six individuals of Javan slow loris were found in community’s plantation which vegetation dominated by bamboo trees and agriculture plantation.

Abstract

Related to global climate stability and international issues of climate change, forests have an important role as a source of carbon emissions (source) and carbon sinks and stores (sink). One of forest ecosystem component is tree vegetation. So that, the study of trees vegetation analysis and estimating of carbon stock needs to be done as well. A total 1,05 Ha sampling Plot with 6 plots (40 x 5 m) for around 5 to 95 cm and (100 x 20 m) for around > 95 cm in four areas has been established to determine trees structure, composition, and carbon stock (above ground) in BKPH Majalengka. Enumeration of all tree species revealed that there were 12 species. The total carbon stock (above ground) was 2.086.347 Kg and avarege per Ha is 99,35 Ton.

Abstract

The problem faced by the wood processing industry in Indonesia today is the shortage of wood raw materials. This occurs because the speed at which timber is used is not balance with the speed at which new stands are build. Meanwhile, the need for wood for furniture, building materials and other needs continues to increase in line with population growth. Therefore, it is necessary to find alternative raw materials for the wood processing industry. Bamboo is one material that can be use for this purpose. Bamboo is a long fiber and has advantages in terms of the harvest period, namely within 3-4 years it can be harvested, shorter than 8-20 years for fast-growing timber species. In this research, a combination of fiber and laminate boards with epoxy adhesive. The material used is the type of betung bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper) and then tested on the combination of fiber and laminated bamboo boards there are 3 tests, namely fracture strength, absorption capacity and density.  The results of this research indicate that from the treatment of 255g adhesive and 127.5g of fiber has a higher average compared to 127.5g of adhesive and 255g of fiber. From the test results, the combination of fiberboards and laminate boards as HDF (Hard Dencity Fiberboard) classified which can be used for materials for making adhesive walls, ceilings, pinyi and containers. However, in contrast to the 127.5g adhesive and 255g fiber treatment included in the MDF (Medium Dencity fiberboard) classification, furniture such as household appliances, molding, window frames, door skins and car dashboards are used.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine whether there is an effect of cropping plants on the growth of pine (pinus merkusii), eucalyptus (eucaliptus alba), puspa (schima wallichii) and avocado species (parsea americana) on RHL activities in RPH Tarogong, BKPH Leles, KPH Garut, West Java and Banten regional divisions. This study was conduct in three series. First, determining the location to be measure second, determination of the measuring plot. Third, making plant measuring by size 40x25m with an area 0,1ha by using systematic sampling with random start metode. Primary data retrieval, namely from the results of the making of the measuring plots according to the plan, then recorded in the taly sheet and then processed according to the parameters determined in the study. Data analysis was conduct to determine the role of each cropping pattern on diameter. The height and robustness of the plants were analyze using the independent sample t-test of the unpaired independent variables. Thus, we can formulate a general definition that the independent sample t is a statistical analysis that aims to compare two unpaired samples. Based on the results of study and discussion, it can be concluded that the growth of eucalyptus (Eucaliptus Alba) and Puspa plant spesies (Schima Wallichii) is better in the agroforestry pattern than in the non-agroforestry pattern. The growth of pine (Pinus Merkusii) and avocado plants (Parsea Americana) is not affect by cropping patterns, so these types can be plant in both agroforestry and non-agroforestry cropping patterns.

Abstract

Tahura is a nature conservation area with a purpose to collecting natural or non-native plants and or animals, native and or non-native species, which are utilized for research, science, education, supporting cultivation, culture, tourism and recreation. As a conservation area whose territory is directly adjacent to the community, Nuraksa Forest Park is a source of economy and life for the surrounding community so that it can be said that there is community dependence on land in the area. This is a challenge in managing the area. In an effort to provide management direction so that the functions and benefits that have been regulated in the legislation and the achievement of the goals that have been formulated can be achieved, the perceived need for activities to identify problems and management strategies of Nuraksa Forest Park. The research was carried out through a series of activities, which consisted of literature studies, interviews and field surveys. The results of the SWOT analysis of the management of Nuraksa Forest Park are in quadrant III. This shows that Nuraksa Forest Park faces enormous opportunities, but on the other hand faces several internal obstacles / weaknesses. The strategy that must be implemented is to minimize the internal problems of the institution so that it can seize better opportunities.

Abstract

Javan langurs are arboreal and have food preference form of leaves, fruit, and flowers, so very dependent on the vegetation in the forest. The object of research is to know the importent value indexand potential of Javan langurs’s food vegetation. The method of research by systemically structured multiplated grid method. The potential of Javan langur’s food vegetation are 30 species which 23 species of tree, 18 species of seeds, 18 species of saplings, and 11 species of poles. Status of food vegetation divided to 3 availability status are safe, unsafe, and very unsafe. There are 8 species safe,  12 species unsafe, and 10 species very unsafe.

Abstract

The existence of green line is very important for people's lives, because being planted in this area is very useful for reducing urban pollution that is built from vehicles and factories equipped with gas containing solid particles. One of component for green line is tree, because it’s have branching that’s reducing urban pollution. The branching architecture is a morphological representation of a particular phase of a series of tree growth series, real and observable at all times. The object of research is a tree census was carried out on Jl. National II / Jl. Bypass of the Cicalengka green line area then describe of model architecture. The method of research by sensus for numbering species of tree and identify of tree architecture model using book by F. Halle & R.A.A. Oldeman, namely: An Essay on The Architecture and Dynamics of Growth of Tropical Trees. The results of reseach are 946 trees that grow on Jl. Nasional III in the Cicalengka green line area. There are 15 tree species found 4 tree architectural models namely troll, rauh, aubreville, and champagnat.

Abstract

Pangandaran Nature Park is a tourist forest area as well as a conservation area and become one of Javan Langur, but the data is still very limited. This study aims to find out the number of individuals and groups of javan langur who are in the nature park pangandaran. This study was conducted in November 2020. Javan langur population is calculated using path and concentration count methods. The data collected are number of individuals, number of groups, gender and age structure (Infants, Children, Adolescents, and Adults). Observations were made as many as 36 times with 3 observations on one day namely morning (06.00 AM), noon (11:00 AM), and evening (15:00 PM). The result showed that there were 64 javan langur individuals divided into 4 groups with an alleged population density of 2.60 individuals/hectare. The ratio of male and female javan langur in pangandaran nature park is 1:2 where the female javan langur is more than the male. And for structure of most javan langur age in the adolescents age class with a percentage of 51.6 %, then adults 28.1%, children 12.5%, and the lowest there is in the infant class with a percentage of 7.8%.
