Journal Of Khairun Community Services (JKC) Fakultas Teknik Universitas Khairun adalah jurnal nasional berbasis hasil pengabdian masyarakat di bidang teknik kepada industri kecil menengah (IKM), masyarakat, dan komunitas regional lainnya, secara rutin diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Teknik Universitas Khairun. Jurnal ini mulai diterbitkan secara online pada tahun 2021. Journal Of Khairun Community Services (JKC) Fakultas Teknik Universitas Khairun mengundang para dosen, peneliti, pengkaji, praktisi, dan perekayasa sosial-teknologi untuk mengirimkan paper atau artikel ilmiahnya hasil pengabdian masyarakat. Paper yang masuk akan di-review secara peer-review. Setelah proses review selesai, hasil review akan diinformasikan kepada penulis melalui sistem Open Journal System (OJS). Abstract

In accordance with the advice from the WHO and the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19, everyone is required to wear a mask every time they are outside the room or in the home environment. As an effort to break the chain of transmission of the Covid-19 virus in North Maluku in general and the City of Ternate in particular. The Faculty of Engineering, Khairun University, through the 2020 Faculty of Engineering Community Service activities, carried out mask distribution activities to people who often did activities outside the home and informal workers. This Community Service activity was carried out in the Jati Village and the targets of this service were the congregation of the Nurul Insan Mosque and informal workers in the Jati Village. The approach method used is to be directly involved in the distribution of masks and in collaboration with Khairun University KUBERMAS students who work in Jati Village. The distribution of these masks is a preventive measure to protect and educate residents from Covid-19. Moreover, the health protocol also obliges the public to wear masks when doing activities outside the home. The distribution of cloth masks to the public is also aimed at educating them. With the hope, people can make their own masks made from cloth

Abstract

One of the methods used for the provision of electricity used en masse is the Photovoltaic Solar Energy system (SESF) or better known as Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant. Tawa Village which is one of the remote villages in South Halmehera Regency has not been reachable by electricity sources from PLN. As one of the villages affected by the 7.2 richter scale earthquake in July 2019, Tawa Village relies solely on Photovoltaic Power Plant for its village lighting. With limited power that is the capacity of solar panels 50 Wp, plts can only serve the needs of electricity at night and during the day there is no supply of electricity. This form of socialization is direct socialization where direct socialization is direct communication in the form of face-to-face communication between the two parties, namely communicators and communion.  In this socialization who acts as a communicator is the father of M.Yunus Hi. Abbas, ST.,MT lecturer of Elector Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Khairun University and his communion are all citizens of Tawa village. socialization activities utilization of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) in Tawa Village, it is expected that the public can understand the utilization of Solar Power Plants properly and know the stages of solar panel maintenance so as to produce solar energy sources that will be channeled into electricity that can serve household needs such as lighting lamps, televisions, radios, fans and other household needs

Abstract

Alternative medicine and health problems related to the use of drugs often occur in the community because they do not understand alternative traditional medicines and the use of good and correct medicines. The TOGA and DAGUSIBU drug utilization program can be the right solution to overcome this problem. From the discussions conducted with the community in the Marikurubu sub-district, Ternate City, information was obtained that in that area there had never been socialized about the benefits of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) and Dagusibu. The purpose of this service is to increase the knowledge of the Marikurubu community about how to manage family medicinal plants (TOGA) and to socialize how to get, use, store and dispose of good medicines. This activity was carried out by outreach to the public about TOGA and Dagusibu, especially drugs used for the treatment of Covid-19. The socialization activity went smoothly with enthusiastic participants in participating in the program, as seen by the many questions asked by the community before conducting the socialization activity the week before we planted plants with medicinal properties. With the activity of planting family medicinal plants and this socialization, the community can apply the knowledge that has been obtained to the environment and family

Abstract

Kegiatan pertambangan emas skala kecil (PESK) menggunakan merkuri sebagai pelarut untuk mengikat emasnya, telah dilarang pemerintah berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah No. 21 Tahun 2019 tentang Rencana Aksi Nasional Pengurangan dan Penghapusan Merkuri. Kampanye kesadartahuan bahaya penggunaan merkuri perlu dilakukan, salah satunya di Desa Anggai yang tambangnya telah beroperasi sejak tahun 1995. Metode kampanye kesadartahuan ini dilakukan melalui pre-test terkait apakah responden pernah mendengar bahwa merkuri berbahaya; selanjutnya presentasi materi seputar merkuri bikin rugi dari segi kesehatan, lingkungan dan ekonomi; serta pelaksanaan post-test terkait ketertarikan untuk meninggalkan penggunaan merkuri atau mendorong pemilik modal mengurangi atau meninggalkan merkuri. Peningkatan kesadartahuan ini menjangkau 231 responden yang terdiri dari pekerja tambang (61,04%), tokoh agama dan pemerintah desa (13,85%), pelajar (15,15%), pemilik modal (5,19%), tenaga kesehatan dan istri penambang (4,76%). Hasil pre-test menunjukan 89,18% responden telah mengetahui bahwa merkuri berbahaya, hanya mereka belum beralih karena belum ada teknologi yang ramah lingkungan dan menguntungkan secara ekonomi. Responden mayoritas sepakat untuk beralih ke teknologi yang lebih ramah lingkungan melalui penggunaan sianida dalam pengolahan emas, hal ini ditunjukan dengan hasil post-test dimana 95,67% setuju beralih dan hanya 2,6% yang tidak setuju khususnya dari kalangan pemodal dan penumbuk batu (perempel) yang merasa terancam kehilangan lapangan kerja jika teknologi pengolahan emas dengan sianida terwujud. Alih teknologi pengolahan emas dari merkuri ke sianida butuh win-win solution dari pemerintah, terkait dukungan teknologi, modal dan pelatihan keterampilan bagi pekerja.Kata kunci: Anggai, kesadartahuan, merkuri, PESK

Abstract

Coral reefs and all the life in them is one of the natural wealth owned and priceless. However, based on the research results, the condition of dead coral in the waters of Dodola Island by 4% caused by the anchor of the ship. To reduce damage to coral reef ecosystems that continue to be developed today is to apply coral transplant techniques. The purpose of community service activities is to understand planting techniques and socialization of the role and function of coral reefs to tourists on the importance of coral reefs in Dodola water. The devotional activities include design, preparation of materials tools, manufacturing and harvesting of coral seeds, and installing seeds in bioreeftek media. Socialization and understanding of biographic coral reef transplant technology are carried out on the community, especially tourists. Before the activity is carried out, generally, the public does not know the importance of coral reefs and the benefits of transplantation. After socialization, the community begins to understand and understand the importance of coral reefs

Abstract

Socialization about hand washing using hand sanitizer is an effort to prevent the early spread of the covid-19 virus which is very unusually fast transmission. This automatic hand dryer is one of the supporting equipment when we finish washing our hands in public places that have been provided by handwashing / sink. Community service is done so that the community can easily dry their hands after washing their hands in the place that has been provided, in addition to maintaining the cleanliness of the environment from used tissue hand dryers that are often discarded out of place. The implementation of this service is carried out in several stages in order to obtain maximum results and complete reporting.

Abstract

One of the areas in Ternate City, namely Kampung Makasar Timur, where most of the population live above the water, so it seems that this area looks slum because there is no good solid and liquid domestic waste management system. This problem needs to be overcome by systematic, comprehensive, and sustainable waste management which includes reducing and handling waste from its source, namely the community. The purpose of this activity is to help the community by providing explanations and. increasing public insight about the household waste management system, the environment, increasing community participation in the waste management system and promoting household-based waste management as an effort to preserve the environment, this community service activity begins by observing the location of community service to determine the source and volume of waste generation , take an approach to the community, especially among housewives through Dasawisma activities then provide guidance and counseling, to increase awareness and community participation in waste management by utilizing community gathering media at the kelurahan location. Furthermore, he taught the community how to sort waste by type by making Takakura baskets as a household compost producer.

Abstract

The corona virus or Covid-19 has continued to be a public concern since the beginning of 2020. This is because the virus that originated in Wuhan, China, quickly spread throughout the world, including Indonesia, especially North Maluku. With the spread of the virus, the global community is worried and afraid. The government, the private sector and the community have begun to take part in helping others who are experiencing economic downturn during the pandemic. As an effort to participate in handling the prevention of the corona virus, the Faculty of Engineering, Khairun University feels compelled to participate. Participation is carried out in the Community Service (PkM) program. The Covid-19 prevention effort by distributing masks to the community around the rock quarry in Kalumata Village, South Ternate City has been carried out by involving 5 students, non-medical masks consisting of two layers of cloth as many as 150 pieces that can be used repeatedly and can be washed were successfully distributed for free to the public within 2 days. The community feels very helped by this activity, with this activity it is hoped that it can increase public awareness in an effort to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19, namely in an orderly manner and always wear masks when outside the home, besides that the community is expected to always apply a clean and healthy lifestyle by wash your hands often and use hand sanitizer regularly, keep your distance, take vitamins, and obey the advice to stay at home

Abstract

Some important things that still have to be done when new normal for newspapers are at the entrance to the workplace, take temperature measurements using a thermogun, and before entering work, a Covid-19 Risk Self-Assessment is implemented to ensure that workers who will enter work are not infected with Covid- 19. Provide hand washing facilities (soap and running water). Then provide instructions for the location of the hand washing facilities. Then put up educational posters on how to wash hands properly. Given the importance of knowing body temperature and washing hands against the symptoms of the spread of the corona virus, this community service will create a system that integrates tools to support office activities during the new normal period. The integration of the system which will provide a device to record body temperature, a hand washer and a hand dryer, all work automatically

Abstract

Kegiatan penambangan emas skala kecil (PESK) di Desa Anggai Kecamatan Obi sudah berlangsung selama 25 tahun. Ada beberapa insiden yang mengancam keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja, salah satunya tercebaknya 5 penambang dalam lombong penggalian akibat genangan air saat hujan turun. Kegiatan sosialisasi keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) kepada pelaku PESK menjadi penting dilakukan untuk memastikan operasi penambangan di wilayah izin pertambangan rakyat (IPR) di Desa Anggai berlangsung dengan baik. Sosialisasi K3 yang akan dilakukan meliputi kesadaran melakukan operasi penambangan yang aman dari bahaya, pentingnya memakai alat pelindung diri (APD) standar, infrastruktur penunjang (blower, tali yang kuat sebagai alat transportasi ore atau penambang, penerangan, sistem penyanggaan yang kuat) dalam lombong atau sumur penggalian yang menunjang keselamatan dan kesehatan para penambang; penanganan dan reduksi pereaksi kimia yang digunakan dalam pengolahan (merkuri, sianida dan bahan kimia lainnya). Sosialisasi K3 ini diharapkan bisa menjadi transfer pengetahuan guna dipraktekan oleh para pekerja tambang emas skala kecil. Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja menjadi hal nomor satu dalam operasi penambangan. Hasil dari sosialisasi yang dilakukan adalah 65,714% telah mengetahui pentingnya menggunakan alat keselamatan.Kata kunci: Anggai, Sosialisasi, K3, Obi, PESK
