Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the description of workforce industry in Kerupuk Rafika Industry at Tanjung Harapan subdistrict, South Kotabumi district, North Lampung Regency in the year of 2012, and it focused on the workforce, worker's age, gender, distance between workers’ houses and working location, education level, and income level. In this research, the researcher used descriptive method. The populations of the research all work in Kerupuk Rafika Industry were 20 people.. The primary data collecting techniques were done by observation, interviews, questionnaires, while the secondary data collecting technique was done by documentation. The data analysis of the research was table percentage.  The results of this research indicated that: (1) the average age of the workers were 25 years old which were included in productive age.(2) There were 55% or 11 male respondents and there were 45% or 9 female respondents. (3) The average distance between the workers’ houses and working location was 4, 5 km, with the nearest distance 1 km and the farthest distance 10 km. (4) The average education level of the workers in Kerupuk Rafika industry was junior high school. (5) The average income level of the workers in Kerupuk Rafika industry were Rp 567,500,- per month with the highest income Rp 650,000,-per month and the lowest income Rp 450,000,- per month. Key words : Workforce, Age, Distance, Education, Income

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the sugar palm tree utilization as an economic source for the families at Air Rupik village, Banding Agung subdistrict, South Oku district in the year of 2012, and it focused on the utilization of parts of the sugar palm tree which could be the economic source, the income from the sugar palm tree and the income donation from sugar palm tree for the families total income. In this research, the researcher used descriptive method. The population in the research were 30 people who constituted the research population. The primary data collecting techniques were done by Primary interviews and structured documentation, while the secondary data collecting technique was done by documentation. The data analysis of the research was table percentage. The results of this research indicated that: (1) sugar palm tree parts that maked use to pass processing process so that be family economic resources at water village rupik sugar palm leaf part is make use and cultivated to be palm leaf rib broom, flower part is maked use to taken nira pass process penyadapan in tuna (tandan) male flower good flower also female flower, fibre of palmtree part has been maked use for direct sold to fibre of palmtree collectors shaped fibre of palmtree copies that cleaned, fruit part is maked use to made kolang-kaling, stick part or sugar palm tree at water village rupik maked use only stick that old and unproductive again to made household tools likes knife handle, axe stalk, also upon which building shaped wood, sugar palm aereal root part is maked use to cultivated to be medicine in the form of liquid that called arrack. (2) The average income from the sugar palm tree utilization was Rp 995,000,- per month. Abstract

The objectives of this research were find out the information about the factors that motivates and attracted the tourist to visit the Dempo mountain object place in south Pagar Alam district of Pagar Alam city of south Sumatera province in 2011. The point of this investigation in this research were to escape from the saturation, refreshing of the body (relaxation), searching the entertainment/game, romantic atmosphere, beautiful place, climate condition, accessibility and facility.   The method that was used in this research was descriptive explorative method. The population in this research was the tourists who come to the Dempo mountain object place. The researcher took the sample were 60 respondents and the selected of the sample accidental sampling technique.  In collecting the data the researcher used observation, documentation, and structure interview. In analyzing the data, the researcher used percentage analysis.  Based on the result data ananysis it can be concluded that: There are 49 respondents who stated that they want to escape from the saturation was the factor that motivates them to visit Dempo mountain object place. There are 47 respondents or 78 % stated that they come to the object place for the reason to refresh the body (relaxation). There are 34 respondents or 57% stated that they want to come to the Dempo mountain object place for the reason to play the game. There are 36 respondents stated that for the reason to find the romantic atmosphere was the factor that motivates the tourist to visit Dempo mountain object place. There are 57 respondents or 95% stated that the factor that attracted the tourist to visit the Dempo mountain object place because of the beautiful of nature. There are 55 respondents or 92% stated that that the factor that attracted the tourist to visit the Dempo Mountain object place because the climate condition.  There are 44 respondents or 73% stated that because of the easy of the accessibility was the factor that attracted the tourist to visit the Dempo mountain object place. Abstract

The low rice production caused by the limited area of arable land and the low price of paddy rice which led farmers to plant rubber trees, in addition to easy marketing of rubber and rubber farmers incomes greater. This research study aims to examine changes in the livelihoods of rice farmers into rubber farmers in the village of Jaya district Bhakti Mesuji Komering Ogan Ilir regency period 1994-2003.  The method used is descriptive method, whereas the data collection technique used is observation, documentation and interviews and data analysis techniques used are based on a percentage analysis of the frequency table is simple. The population in this study as many as 198 households and a sample taken at 50 or 25% of the farmers of the existing population and this study is a research sample.  These results indicate that 1). A total of 28 or 56% which has a land area is 22 or 44% and having a narrow area. 2). Sebayak 26 or 54% of the production of low rice farming and 24 or 48% higher production of rice farming. 3). As many as 43 or 86% said the low price of rice led them to plant rubber and 7 or 14% said the low price of rice is not the cause of their planting rubber. 4). As many as 48 or 96% said quickly and easily sell their rubber plant is one of the causes of their rubber plant and a 2 or 4% said quickly and easily sell their rubber plant is not one of them causes the rubber plant. 5). As many as 26 or 52% of the rubber farmers have income per year is greater than or equal to Rp.41.794.800; - and 24 or 48% rubber farmers have an income per year is less than Rp.41.794.800; -.Key wordt: Lowland Rice Production, Rice Selling Price, Marketing Rubber, Rubber Farmers Income

Abstract

Tirta Kencana is one of the villages which became the settlement of transmigrant from Java in the year 1973/1974. Location hebitable be supporting settlement that transmigrants remain in transmigration sites. In addition, the area of land they have also influenced decisions to survive. Traditional still life in Java have implications for the economic life of the family and next-generation transmigrants. The issue of land and the narrowing of the rampant crime situation in the village was not making transmigrants in Tirta Kencana move to another place. This situation is interesting to study so that the purpose of this study was to determine the cause of transmigrants survive living in  Tirta Kencana subdistrict of Tulang Bawang Tengah regency of Tulang Bawang Barat in 2012. The population in this study as many as 329 migrants. Samples taken are as many as 66 samples with Proportional Random Sampling technique in seven hamlets. The method used is descriptive method and data collection techniques are observation, structured interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using frequency tables and cross-tabulations as the basis for describing the data obtained and responding to expressed. The results showed that transmigrants endure living in the village of Tirta Kencana subdistrict of Tulang Bawang Tengah regency of Tulang Bawang Barat in 2012 because 1) The availability of facilities and adequate transportation infrastructure (89.4%), 2) as well as the relatives who have blood relations (98.5%). As for 3) Land owned (60.6%) is caused migrants to survive living in the village of Tirta Kencana and 4) ownership of valuable goods is not proven to be the cause of migrants survive living in the village of Tirta Kencana (48.5%).Key words:  Last recidence, location of transmigration

Abstract

This study aims to descibe the state of a geography teacher to calculate and to map the needs of geography teacher and its relevance with the educational background of high school geography teacher in Ogan Komering Ulu distict, Sumatera Selatan in 2012. This study used descriptive methode as the research method, while the data collection techniques used were koesioner and documentation. The technical data analysis used was descriptive analysis. The population in this study were 27 high schools in Ogan Komering Ulu district. These results indicate:1). The number of high school geography teacher in OKU is 34 people consisting of 13 teacher-sex male, 21 female teachers, 11 permanent teachers, 23 teacher salaries and only 16 teachers who have certification. The Media of teaching is often used by geography teacher in OKU are maps and globes, added by media images, and video. The material that most difficult to understand were the 20 teachers choose materials GIS and remote sensing, 1 person chose material antroposfer and 14 teachers have no trouble. 2). The need for high school geography teacher is 33 geography teacher. 3). Schools that exceeds 1 geography teacher are Sentosa Bhakti senior high school and Kader Pembangunan senior high school that located in Baturaja Timur sub-district. Then only Senior High School number 8 OKU,located in Sinar Peninjauan sub-district, is lack of 1 geography teacher. 4). The relevance of the educational background of teachers are only 16 geography teacher were graduate of S1 Geography Education, 17 teachers were graduate of S1 Non Educational geography and 1 teacher is graduate of SMEA. So we can say that the total shortages of geography teachers in OKU district based on the relevance of the educational background above ie 17 teachers.Keyword:  Mapping, Geography Teachers Need

Abstract

This research was to investigate the role of social aid to lessen farmer families’ poverty in totokaton, punggur, central Lampung.  It emphasized in income of the families before getting social aid, amount of family’s member, work system, type of social aid utilization, income of the families after getting social aid, hierarchy of minimum staple, and poverty diminution.Descriptive method was used in this research.  The population of this research was 54 farmer families.  The collecting data were observation, questionnaire, and documentation.  Frequency tabulation and percentage were used in this research to analyze the data.  They were the basic of interpretation and description to get the result. The finding of the research showed that   (1) the average of farmer’s income before getting social aid was Rp 7.844.733,33 in each year.  (2)Average of their burden children was 2 people for each patriarch.(3)  it was 81.48% patriarches who used social aid through independent work family system  and  it was 18.52% patriarches through group work system. (4) It was 83.33% patriarches who used social aid in agriculture sector, 16.67% patriarches in non agriculture sector. (5)  Average of income after using social aid was 10.835.006,67% patriarches in every year.  (6)Minimum staple compliance of family was increase from 0% to 48.15% patriarches.  (7)Families who had better life were increase 37.04% which the verge of poverty was 27.78% and better life family was 9.25%.Key words: The social aid, Farmer, Poverty

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the socio-economic characteristics of the family whose wife works as labour in Surya Modern Bakery at Purwodadi Village, Trimurjo District, Central Lampung in the year of 2012. The research focused on: the age, education level, working hours, working time, number of children, wages, and the contributions to the fulfillment of the minimum requirements in the family. In this research, the researcher used descriptive method. The population in this research were 103 laborers, were taken 40% of sample (41 labours). The data collecting techniques of the research were observation, structured interviews and documentation. As data analysis, the researcher used cross-tabulations and percentage as the basis of description and interpretation in the making of this research report. The results of this research indicated that: (1) There were 90,2% of productive laborers and the difference in age did not affect on the wages. (2) The difference of laborers’ education level did not differentiate the wages.  (3) All of the laborers had evenly high working hours. (4) The packing laborers’ working time differentiated the wages because of the skills they had. But, the wages for production laborers were not different. (5) On average, the number of laborers’ children were 3 children/family, the least were 1 child/family and the most were 10 children/family. (6) The total income of the wife who worked as laborer (Rp 21,508,000/month) had contributed 41% of the total family income (Rp 64,358,000/month). (7) The fulfillment of the minimum requirements in the family before the wife worked as laborer was 48,8% and  it improved to 90,2% after the contribution of the wife who had worked. Key words : Socio-economic characteristics, wife, labour

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the condition of butterfly habitats in Gita Persada Butterfly Park, Kedaung, Kemiling sub-district, Bandar Lampung, whether the location has been appropriate as the butterfly habitats. This research focused on environmental factors, such as the climate condition (temperature, moisture and precipitation), topography, vegetation, and the diversity of butterfly species. This research used descriptive method, with the objects was Gita Persada Butterfly Park, the width was 4.8 Ha. Respondents in this research was the management and the staff of Gita Persada Butterfly Park. The researcher collected the data using observation interview, and documentation. The obtained data were analyzed and were compared with raw criteria and were interpreted in the research report. The result showed that: ( 1 ) the climate condition of Gita Persada Butterfly Park was C type ( schmidt-ferguson ) with the average rainfall 2087,6 mm / years, as for the temperature was 25,8oc, the moisture was relatively high namely 87,4 %, it was suitable for butterflies habitat. the topography was in the form of highland with a height 460 m dpl, it was suitable for butterfly habitats because the butterfly species will breed at highland topography with the height was 400-1000 m dpl. The condition of vegetation in the open land park were quite many, but the vegetation of host and forage for butterflies in the dome were quite least ( 2 ) the diversity of butterfly species were quite many. Based on the documentation, there were 160 species derived from 5 families which were Papilionidae, Nymphalidae, Pieridae, Lycaenidae and Hesperidae and most of butterflies spesies was conservation came from Nymphalidae families. Keywords: habitat, climate, diversity of butterfly species

Abstract

This research is one of description research that have purpose to describe about The Quality of Musi River’s Water in 1 Ulu Village Sberang Ulu 1 Subdistrict Palembang 2012. Point of view in this research is consist of two aspects that is chemical and physic aspect. The physic aspects consist of turbidity, temperature, and water colour. Whereas, for the chemical aspects consist of Nitrat, Nitrit, H2S, and COD.  The object of this research all of Musi River unite from upper course to downstream to flash past in 1 Ulu Village. The technics to take sample that used into this research is purposive sample with used three areas sample and each of one area are consist of one to two observation point. The technics of data processing was did with laboratory test, survey object, observation, documentation, and interview. The data analysis processing used to analysis the result of research by three areas that is the exploration description. The result showed that the water quality Musi River polluted. It is evident from the results of the test parameters have exceded water quality standards for rivers in South Sumatera Governor Regulation No. 16 Years 2005. Key words: The quality of water, Musi River
