Abstract

In this study, wajik formulation containing different percentages of glucose syrup were developed and their suitabilities as chocolate filling were studied. Then the products were studied for their qualities for two weeks using thermal cycle method. Data obtained were treated by the analysis of variance followed by Duncan New’s Multiple Range Test. The chocolates containing wajik with different percentage of glucose syrup show that there was no significant difference based on hardness, water activity, and color during storage. There were no fat bloom formed during the storage of chocolate. Result from sensory evaluation show that the chocolate containing wajik with 20% glucose syrup was more acceptable than that with 10% glucose syrup.

Abstract

This research aims to know the characteristics of the texture and colour of compost from empty palm bunches(TKKS) and cow dung using selulotic microorganism (MOS). This research had been carried out in thevillage of Serosah, district of Hulu Kuantan, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Design used in this study was arandomized complete design (RAL) non factorial, which consists of 6 treatment and three replicates, namelyA0 (20 kg of TKKS + 200 ml of MOS), A1 (18 kg of TKKS + 2 kg of cow dung + 200 ml of MOS), A2 (16 kg ofTKKS + 4 kg of cow dung + 200 ml of MOS), A3 (14 kg of TKKS + 6 kg of cow dung + 200 ml of MOS), A4 (12kg of TKKS + 8 kg of cow dung + 200 ml of MOS), A5 (10 kg of TKKS + 10 kg of cow dung + 200 ml of MOS).Data from observation of each treatment were descriptively analyzed. Based on the results of the study it canbe concluded that the use of the empty palm bunches of compost by using cow and selulotic microorganisms(MOS) significantly affected the texture of the compost (a soft and slightly damp) and black in colour of10YR/21.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of this research was to get the optimum concentrations of NaOH as an alternative anticoagulant oflatex. This research was conducted at Laboratory of PT. Andalas Agrolestari, Kuantan Singingi on July toDecember 2014. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two steps. The first step wasto know the ability of NaOH to latex stabilities and step II was to saw the ability of format acid for latexclumed after anticoagulant came in. Data obtained were treated by the analysis of variance (ANOVA) followedby Duncan’s NewMultiple Range Test (DNMRT) the level of 5%. The results showed that optimumconcentration NaOH was addition NaOH 5%. The addition of NaOH 5% had significant effect on theanticoagulant retention time, coagulant retention time, pH, ash content, volatile substance content, Po valueand PRI value, but had not significant effect on the dry rubber content and dirt content.Key words: Anticoagulant, coagulant, latex.

Abstract

Corn has not been used optimally, given that corn is the crop that can not be directlyconsumed. Withering and drying is a treatment process is usually done on herbal tea. This studyaims to look at long interaction length withering and drying of different herbal teas to the qualityof corn. This study was done at the Laboratory of Analysis and Processing of AgriculturalProducts Agricultural Faculty of Agricultural and Food Chemistry Laboratory of the Faculty ofFisheries University of Riau. The research was carried out experimentally using CompleteRandomized Design factorial pattern. The first factor is the length of the second factor is thewithering and drying time. Each of these factors consists of three stage with three replications inorder to obtain 27 combinations of samples. The results showed a long withering and drying timesignificantly affect the water content, crude fiber, and organoleptic assessment. Old differenceswithering and drying effect is not real time on ash content of corn produced. Coliform bacteriafound 3cfu/ml and do not exceed the specified SNI.Key words: corn, withering and drying, hair herbal tea corn

Abstract

Bioethanol is an energy source that can be obtained from the fermentation of plant material. This bioethanolproduction utilizes coconut water as a fermentation medium thickened. The purpose of this study was todetermine the concentration of NPK fertilizer in the manufacture of bioethanol from coconut water bySaccharomyces cerevisiae. This study with increasing the varying NPK fertilizer concentrations of this studyconducted an experiment with four treatments and measurement in duplicate. Concentration of NPK fertilizerwere N1 (0%), N2 (1%), N3 (2%) and N4 (3%). Observations were made every 24 hours; include ethanolcontent, sugar content, pH, and the number of cells. Data were analyzed descriptively by using a tabulationand graphs. The best treatment was a combination of N4 (NPK fertilizer 3%), which produces the largestethanol 9.50%.

Abstract

Tbe research was conducted at Aur Sati VUiage, Tunbang sub district, Kanspar District, Trom May toNovember 20O7, using survey method. Tbe aim of this research were to get information about condition offarming system and to identify marketing potential of low land vegetables with high productkin and goodmarketing potential. Result of research showed thattowland type vegetable with the highest production blong bean and encumber, but tiie one with best marketing potential b spinach. Spinach had highest sellingpercentage eventhough the one with highest profit percentage was long bean.

Abstract

Probiotic fermented milk by Lactobacillus casei subsp. casei R-68 with skim milk and red dragon fruit extractas a raw material was expected to produce probiotic fermented milk with more completed nutriotional valueand health benefits. The purpose of this study was to determine the best percentage of red dragon fruit extracton the quality of fermented milk. This study used a Completely Randomized Design Experiment with fourtreatmentsnamely BN1 = 2% red dragon fruit extract, BN2 = 4% red dragon fruit extract, BN3 = 6% reddragon fruit extract, BN4 = 8% red dragon fruit extract and three replications. Data were analyzed usingANOVA, followed by DNMRT at 5% level. The results show that the concentration of red dragon fruit extractsignificantly (P <0.05) influenced the pH value, total lactic acid, total lactic acid bacteria, the sensory testby descriptive and hedonic of colour and hedonic of taste. but did not significantly affect (P> 0.05) protein,solid total, the sensory test by descriptive and hedonic of flavour and the sensory test by descriptive ofviscosity. It was concluded that the best quality of fermented milk was BN4 treatment (red dragon fruit extract8%), which meet the quality of fermented milk with a pH of 5.32, total lactic acid 0.92%, total lactic acidbacteria 12.49 log CFU/ml, protein 5.10%, solid total 85.69%, and assessed that panelists preferred thequality attributes of color, taste, flavour and viscosity.

Abstract

The objective of study was to analyse value chains and marketing margins from Sumber Gizi Nabati (SGN)and Melilea soybean milk agro-industries. This study was conducted from Februari until Maret 2013. Datacollected were those of primary and secondary data. The methods of study used case studies, while thedetermination of the population is conducted by survey method. The data obtained was analyzed usingdescriptive method, scoring in each indicators, multiple regresi analysis and then analysis of the marketingmargins. Most of respondents drawn from incidental consumersof soybean milk powder with number ofsample from SGN 30 people and Melilea 30 people.The result of this study; the value chain showed thatthere are two activities in a company, the primary activity and the support activity; margin analysis showedthat marketing margin of SGN industry greater than Melilea.Key words : Soybean Milk, Value Chain, Consument
