Abstract

The orchid flower is an ornamental plant that has a lot of interest. For orchid cultivation, there are many things that need to be monitored, including the watering process. Referring to this, an Internet of Things (IoT) -based orchid watering device was made which uses Arduino as a microcontroller, the yl-69 sensor as a soil moisture reader, the DHT11 sensor as a temperature reader, the float swith sensor as an automatic reservoir and an omron timer as a timer for administration. vitamin. All data read by the sensor is sent to the Thingspeak webserver and forwarded to the MIT App Invertor application installed on the smartphone. This tool is made to make it easier for a cultivator to monitor watering plants remotely via an application on a smartphone. After taking data for about two weeks, the sensor readings were obtained, including the yl-69 sensor in wet conditions which has a standard deviation of 0.89 and dry conditions 1.18, the DHT11 sensor has a standard deviation of 0.4 for temperature. For the development of orchid plants, it shows quite good results, it is shown from the stems and leaves of the plants that begin to elongate and grow thick.

Abstract

Stainless Steel 316 is a steel metal with its main alloys namely Chromium (Cr) and Nickel (Ni). These two alloys make stainless steel resistant to corrosion (rust). Because Stainless Steel 316 is corrosion resistant, this metal is widely used in the aviation industry, the chemical industry and the food industry. Welding is the process of joining two metals by melting the filler metal and the protective metal to the object being welded. The purpose of this final project is the author who will perform welding on 316 Stainless Steel material. The background for selecting 316 Stainless Steel material is to get the latest data about the level of hardness and tensile strength of the welding results. Welding uses SMAW welding with Nikko Steel NSN 316 L electrodes with a diameter of 3.2 mm, variations in the current used are 75A, 95A, and 115A. Single taper welding seam used, the welding method is Vertical Up and Vertical Down. The plate thickness used is 8mm. Tests carried out on the results of welding are hardness testing and tensile testing. The results of the hardness test show that the Base Metal area is the hardest point to determine the HAZ and Weld Metal points. The highest test results were found in the current 115A Vertical Up specimen III of 3323 Kgf.

Abstract

Drying is a mandatory process carried out after harvest or production. Direct drying is a traditional method that is still used today, but this method has drawbacks because it depends on the weather. Pests, the rainy season, and at night are obstacles experienced in this process. This dryer can help solve common solutions for manufacturers. A dryer coated with clear acrylic it can protect the produce from rain, dust, and pests. The solar panel functions as a power source for the temperature controller in the dryer. 40-50 C is the right temperature when drying, it is not recommended that temperatures exceed 50 because it can cause dry food ingredients outside. Incandescent lamps and mini fans are temperature control devices to stabilize the temperature inside with temperatures of 40 ̊ to 50 C. Incandescent lamps also allow manufacturers to dry at night so that the drying process can be shorter than usual. The result found by the dryer is that it has a cross-sectional area of 2100 cm2 with a maximum capacity of 13 pieces with a diameter of 7 cm. The drying rate with the sun reaches 0.6% per hour, and the energy needed by the sun for 10 hours of drying is 36288 kJ. The power that can be produced by solar panels is 100 watts with the electrical energy needed for 10 hours of drying with a controller of 3600J.

Abstract

Potatoes are a plant that has many benefits for human life. The potato plant has a problem, namely a disease that attacks the leaves. Disease on potato leaves that is often encountered is early blight and late blight. Image processing is a method that can be used to assist farmers in identifying potato leaf disease by utilizing leaf images. Image processing method development has been done a lot, one of which is by using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm. The CNN method is a good image classification algorithm because its layer architecture can extract leaf image features in depth, however, determining a good CNN architectural model requires a lot of data. CNN architecture will become overfitting if it uses less data, where the classification model has high accuracy on training data but the accuracy becomes poor on test data or new data. This research utilizes the Transfer Learning method to avoid an overfit model when the data used is not ideal or too little. Transfer Learning is a method that uses the CNN architecture that has been trained by other data previously which is then used for image classification on the new data. The purpose of this research was to use the Transfer Learning method on CNN architecture to classify potato leaf images in identifying potato leaf disease. This research compares the Transfer Learning method used to find the best method. The results of the experiments in this research indicate that the Transfer Learning VGG-16 method has the best classification performance results, this method produces the highest accuracy value of 95%.
