Abstract

STMIK Amik Riau is the first Computer College in Riau under the Kopertis Region 10 which has an activity based on the information technology sector. This certainly requires the campus management to take advantage of technological developments in every academic activity. STMIK Amik Riau has quite a lot of facilities and infrastructure to support academic activities. However the problem is that the introduction to campus area system has not followed the current competition trend, because the campus introduction system used is still web-based and utilizes social media such as Facebook and Instagram. In order to improve the services of the campus, a virtual tour application that presents android-based campus area information is designed. This application is designed android based by using Polygonal Modeling and Extrude Face Polygonal modeling is an approach to modeling objects using points that determine the area of a surface so that it can create fields from three-dimensional (3D) models. With the application of Android-based technology, the resulting application is expected to be easily accessed because almost all levels of society nowadays have used a Android smart phones. This certainly facilitates the public and students in obtaining information about the shape of the building and the area around campus

Abstract

One of the efforts made by universities to serve prospective students is by providing consulting services and information that is usually carried out directly at the booth provided, through phone service or live chat support available on the college website. Increased visitors will result in waiting times due to limited availability of officers, which results in decreased satisfaction of prospective new students, moreover this service is only available during campus operating hours. One alternative solution to overcome this problem is to use Chatbot, able to answer questions raised by prospective new students which can be categorized as Frequently Asked Questions abbreviated as FAQ. Chatbot technology can be developed with a variety of AI (Artificial Intelligence) techniques. One of them is the AIML (Artificial Intelligence Markup Language) technique. One of the main drawbacks of AIML is that there is no reasoning ability so a learning system that is focused on supervised learning is needed. In the chatbot that will be built the learning process uses a selective neural conversational model or commonly called the Deep Semantic Similarity Model (DSSM) developed by Microsoft. Meanwhile, the measurement of chatbot performance will be done using Confusion Matrix which is a method of evaluating the performance of the algorithm from Machine Learning (ML). The results of the study stated that the chatbot system that was built was able to answer questions posed by prospective students properly and correctly while the questions were available in the chatbot knowledge base.

Abstract

Hotel is a company engaged in the field of services, which requires employees who have competencies in accordance with their fields. At present the existing employees are deemed to lack competency in accordance with their field of work. In order for employees to have competence according to their field of work, the hotel must carry out an acceptance assessment that requires certain criteria, such as education, foreign language acquisition, discipline, experience and others. One of the appropriate decision making methods for evaluating acceptance is the MOORA (Multi Objective Optimization on the basis of Ratio Analysis) method which is a multi-objective system that optimizes two or more conflicting criteria. The MOORA method has a degree of flexibility and ease of understanding in separating the subjective parts of an evaluation process into criteria, by determining the weights and attributes as decision making, the form of decision matrices and ranking. The criteria used in this study are height, experience, discipline, interviews, written tests, foreign languages, friendly, computer, software and medical checkups. To facilitate the assessment of acceptance, this system is applied based on Android, so that in addition to the hotel, prospective employees can also find out the results of the assessment. Based on the implementation of the system application, the use of the MOORA method for the hotel employee acceptance evaluation system can produce the right decision system, in accordance with the predetermined ranking, criteria and weight of the assessment

Abstract

According to a report from the Riau Province BLHK states that hotspots in Riau Province are always present every year despite the number of hotspots that have been suppressed (http://dislhk.riau.go.id/). One of the causes is the frequent land clearing occurred as a trigger from a hotspot in Riau Province. There is a need for countermeasures as soon as possible to overcome the problem of hotspots that will cause forest fires. These problems need to be watched out quickly, one of which is to know in advance the hotspots that are likely to emerge based on existing data. Data mining processing is very suitable to be applied in order to produce relevant data to find out the possibility of hotspots. In this study the data grouping was done in the form of a visualization of hotspot mapping using the K-means Clustering method. The parameters used include 3 number of clusters (critical, alert, vigilant), 12 regencies / cities in Riau Province and 3 attributes (hotspots, number of fires, number of events). With the results of the visualization of the mapping using the K-means Clustering method, it is expected to be able to help the relevant parties, namely the Riau Provincial Forest Service in handling early the hotspots that are likely to emerge.

Abstract

Population growth in Indonesia is always increasing every year so that the number of residential needs also increases. Higher house installaments make people think twice before buying a house. The lack of information about subsidied housing makes people think that the prices of some houses are relatively expensive so people choose to contract which will certainly drain income. Subsidied housing is an untaxed plus house with low interest. On the research this time using a Decision Support System that is called the option-based housing support system, using the smart method, which is able to help people select subsidied housing to fit the need. The implementation of this method aims to facilitate the selection of subsidied housing based on calculations from the criteria used as locations, public facilities, access to locations, the quality of buildings and the credibility of developers. The results of this system provide solutions in the form of the best alternatives to be determined based upon the ranking of smart calculations.

Abstract

This paper presents research in neural network approach for text messages categorization of collaborative learning skill in an online discussion. Although a neural network is a popular method for text categorization in the research area of machine learning, unfortunately, the use of neural network in educational settings is rare. Usually, text categorization by neural network is employed to categorize news articles, emails, product reviews, and web pages. In an online discussion, text categorization that is used to classify the message sent by the student into a certain category is often manual, requiring skilled human specialists. However, human categorization is not an effective way for a number of reasons; time- consuming, labor-intensive, lack of consistency in a category, and costly. Therefore, this paper proposes a neural network approach to code the message automatically. Results show that neural networks achieving useful classification on eight categories of collaborative learning skills in an online discussion as measured based on precision, recall, and balanced F-measure.
