Abstract

Potensi plasma nutfah Indonesia cukup banyak dan beragam terutama tanaman padi varietas lokal, contohnya varietas Rajalele. Penelitian pemuliaan tanaman padi varietas Rajalele bertujuan agar diperoleh  benih lokal unggul dengan deskripsi sebagai berikut : rasa enak dan harum, umur pendek, anakan banyak, potensi produksi tinggi, dan tinggi tanaman kurang dari 100 cm. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara menyilangkan varietas Rajalele dengan IR-64, Sintanur, Mentik wangi, dan Pandan wangi. Hasil benih F1 perlu ditanam sampai F16 mebutuhkan waktu 5-10 tahun untuk memperoleh hasil yang mantap dan dapat diandalkan. Hasil penelitian berupa benih F16 diuji dilaboratorium untuk mengetahui deskripsi varietas dan diuji multilokasi untuk mengetahui karakteristik F16 diberbagai kondisi lahan dan iklim. Hasil temuan padi varietas baru tersebut perlu dipatenkan sebagai hak kekayaan intelektual (HAKI).   Kata kunci  : plasma nutfah, varietas rajalele, persilangan, deskripsi varietas baru

Abstract

Consumer buy product and service to fulfill their needs. Need is natural, while pretension is unnatural need. The objective of this research is to find out the consumers preference towards watermelon in Semarang, the factors that influence the consumers in choosing watermelons in Semarang, the alternative fruit that replace watermelon, and kinds of watermelons mostly sold in Semarang. Research method used is descriptive method, the technique of location and respondents sampling use purposive sampling with the locations are on three main markets in Semarang and there are 90 respondents. Kind of data and data resources used are primary and secondary data by interviews and questionnaires as the data collection method. The primary and secondary data in this research are analyzed with tabulation and percentage analysis technique. This research has been conducted on July  – August 2008. The result of this research shows that watermelon has not become the most preferred fruit for Semarang consumers, in choosing watermelon, the consumers have preferences in the taste and seedless. However, the alternative fruit chosen by the consumers is orange. And, preferred watermelon in Semarang is as follows: weight of 2 – 4 kg, red fleshed, and seedless. Abstract

The research was conducted to investigate doe productivity and kid crop of Etawah Grade does under individual and group housing at Girikerto village, sub district of Turi, Sleman  -  DIY Province. Material consisted of farmers and their Etawah Grade does kept under individual and group housing. Descriptive and analytic survey method were applied to collect data. Purposive sampling method was applied to collect data. On average, 17 and 14 does and their kids respectively for group housing and individual management system were studied. Data  consisted  kid crop, litter size, kidding interval,  weaning weight, and doe productivity. Descriptive analysis was kid crop and to compare the kidding interval, litter size, weaning weights  and doe productivity  were analyzed using Independent Samples T-test  to identify differences between individual and group housing management systems.  The result showed that kid crop at group housing management system were  225.7% it was higher than those of individual management systems that is 176.6%.  Litter size and weaning weight were no significantly differ, while kidding interval and  doe productivity  differ (P<0.05) between both management systems.  It was concluded that  doe productivity and kid crop  of Etawah Grade does under group housing was better than individual management system.   Keywords:  Doe  productivity,  Kid  Crop,  Etawah  Grade goats,  group  and   Individual housing

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine  social-economic characteristics of farmers  and  inseminators, to determine the performance of beef cattle reproduction in the implementation artificial insemination (AI) program, institution of AI and to determine of income from  beef cattle farmers was used AI and also factors influencing them. Respondents consist of 60 farmers and 33 Inseminators  were taken  by  using purposive  sampling. This research used primary data and secondary data were taken by using survey method. Observed variables were social-economic characteristic of respondent, performance of beef  cattle reproduction (calf  weaning, postpartum mating,  service per conception (S/C) and calving interval (C.I)), institute of AI and income of  beef cattle farmers. This research use  analysis which consist of t-  test  to compare performance of beef cattle reproduction between AI  program with natural breeding and regression analysis to know the factors affecting of income level. The result of research showed that calf weaning and C.I of AI at  t-  test have significant difference compare to natural breeding, post partum mating and S/C on AI and natural breeding shows insignificant difference.  Analysis result of regression  showed F equal to 9.007 significant (P< 0.01) and coefficient of determinant R2 equal to this 0.505 that mean 50.50% dependent variable can be explained by free variable, while the rest 49.50% explained by other variables outside. The factors that  significantly affected the option of  income are  farm experience (P<0.01), cost of breeding (P<0.10), and dummy variable (P<0.01).  The farm experience and  dummy variable had positive effect while cost of breeding had negative effect. Abstract

Food materials as elementary requirement, these are the source of human being body nutrient. But in food materials, this way natur and alsomicrobe contaminate, many there are poisonous compound. Go together foodand availability, many case which have emerged concern poisoning of food andugly nutrient case. Lower of society attention to food security result casepoisoning of food in Indonesia often happen. The return applying of expectedorganic agriculture system can depress case number poisoning of food, besidethere are other advantage which can be obtained by like; decreasing of itenvironmental contamination, the return of ground fertility cycle, etc. Besidescentral government, relevant institutes like Department Agriculture,Departmental of Oceaninc And Fishery, of Industry and Commerce, Localgovernment, Body POM; they have claimed to always to share and also ingiving construction, counselling, monitoring and inspection circulation of foodmaterials. So that, the food materials which were accepted by society /consumer, peaceful and its quality was lawful well guaranted and also wasconsumed. Abstract

Marketing is an important aspect in running fishing business because it is an economic activity that influences the fluctuation of fishermen’s income. The production can be useless if the price is low, thus, marketing has to be good and efficient. This research is about the efficiency of the marketing system of fresh fish layang (Decapterus russeli) in the fish auction place. Specifically, this research is to know : 1) the marketing system of fresh fish layang in Tegal City. 2) the marketing margin of fresh fish layang in Tegal City. 3) the distribution flow of fresh fish layang in Tegal City. 4) the reason fishermen sell their products in the Fish Auction Place. The method use in this research is descriptive analysis method, The registration data and literature study. Based on the analysis, it  is known that the marketing system of fresh in the Fish Auction Place, seen from the marketing cost calculation, purchasing price, selling price and profit is < 1, which means efficient. And if seen from the marketing margin, the most efficient flow is channel 4 (the 4th channel). Meanwhile, the reason why fishermen sell their Fish Auction Place is because of the guarantee that their product will be sold. Fish is a product that is easily broken and rotten. Therefore, the guarantee that the product will be sold, can minimize loss risk for fisherman. Key word : Marketing Efficiency, Fresh Layang Fish, Fish Auction Place.

Abstract

Peternakan mempunyai peranan yang penting dalam pembangunan setidak-tidaknya dalam 4 hal strategis yaitu : 1) Peternakan untuk menyediakan pangan terutama untuk memenuhi kebutuhan rakyat akan protein hewani, 2) Peternakan untuk sumber pendapatan dan kesempatan kerja, 3) Peternakan untuk usaha pertanian yang berkelanjutan dan perbaikan lingkungan hidup, dan 4) Peternakan untuk pengentasan masyarakat dari kemiskinan. Namun pada kenyataannya bidang peternakan  sekarang  ini belum mampu secara optimal dalam menjalankan peran strategis seperti yang telah dijelaskan diatas. Hal ini dikarenakan kebanyakan usaha peternakan masih dikelola secara tradisional sehingga belum mampu memberikan kesejahteraan yang memadai dan juga belum mampu mencukupi kebutuhan protein hewani yang terjangkau oleh masyarakat, karena sebagian besar sumber protein hewani terutama daging dan susu masih inpor sehingga harganya relatif tinggi. Untuk itu perlu adanya usaha yang terpadu sehingga bidang peternakan ini benar-benar mampu berperan dalam mensejahterakan rakyat melalui penyediaan lapangan pekerjaan dan penyediaan protein hewani yang mencukupi kebutuhan masyarakat dengan harga terjangkau. Wahyu Dwi Wulandari. 2006. Effort Analysis Of Kacang Sangrai Agroindustry In Klaten Regency. Agriculture Faculty Of Sebelas Maret University. Surakarta Kacang sangrai agroindustry is industry which process peanut become kacang sangrai. Kacang sangrai agroindustry which is there in Klaten Tengah District  laboured in two scale, that is small industrial scale kacang sangrai agroindustry and  home industrial scale kacang sangrai agroindustry. Each scale give different profit This Script is done pursuant to research which have been done  with a purpose to study and compare advantage, profitability, efficiency, and risk of effort between small industrial scale kacang saragra agro ndustry and home industry scale kacang sangrai agroindustry. Basic method this research used descriptive. Research done in Klaten Tengah  District because Klaten Tengah District represent the single kacang sangrai producer  area in Klaten Regency. Intake Responder done by taking all kacang sangrai entrepreneur. Data collected by primary and secondary. As for data collecting technique with observation, interview, and record-keeping Result of Research indicate that profit per accepted raw material kuintal small industrial scale kacang sangrai agroindustry ( Rp. 88.693,- ) bigger than home  industry scale  (  Rp. 63.368,-).  Small industrial scale kacang sangrai agroindustry profitability ( 9,24 %) bigger than home industry scale kacang sangrai agroindustry profitability ( 6,48%). Both the effort scale profit because profitability bigger than 0. Efficiency of effort small industrial scale kacang sangrai agroindustry (RlC = 1,09) and home industry scale kacang sangrai agroindustry (R /C = 1,06) please express  that both the effort scale not yet is efficient. Small industrial scale kacang sangra Agroindustry ( KV = 0,09) and home industry scale ( KV = 0,26) indicating that both the effort scale have low risk. For result of this research, writer took conclusion that the profit, profitability, and efficiency small industrial scale kacang sangrai agroindustri bigger than home industry scale, while risk of effort small industri scale kacang sangrai agroindustri lower than home industry scale Suggestion which can be submitted in this research is Packaging done by contract labour and home industry scale sangrai bean entrepreneur cooperate with society in product marketing
