Abstract

Literacy activities are becoming increasingly vital and are being implemented on a large scale. Literacy is defined as the capacity to read and write in general. Literacy, on the other hand, is more than just reading and writing; it also encompasses the ability to utilise knowledge sources in print, visual, digital, and auditory formats. Early childhood is the most essential stage for the creation of children's knowledge and conduct, so literacy activities must begin then. Children have a good recall at this age because their personalities are undeveloped, making it simple for them to get caught up in behaviors that are common in everyday life. As a result, PKL I was carried out at the Sinar Damai Sejahtera Orphanage Foundation in order to help one of the children who lacked interest in reading and learning develop a literacy culture from an early age. The micro intervention method is used in the helping process (case work). As indicated by the rise of children's excitement for learning and interest in reading, the goal of this activity was reported to be met.

Abstract

Education is a right that must be obtained by every child without any exceptions. Fulfilling the needs of children is not that easy, because not all children are born in a family that is financially and physically capable of meeting all the needs of their children, some children are born from underprivileged families so that they cannot meet the needs of children, especially in the field of education. These limitations encourage children to experience parenting in an orphanage which is an alternative to child care. at the Orphanage it has not been maximized because the same thing often happens at the Sinar Damai Sejahtera Orphanage Foundation where the children there need help to be able to solve children's problems in the field of education including there are children who cannot write, do not know numbers and the biggest for reading. This problem can arise because of the lack of donors and the children in the orphanage get love because of the lack of caretakers of the orphanage. Various kinds of problems can be overcome in PKL 1 Activity by using the social casework method. Which consists of the stages of engagement, intake & contract, assessment, planning, intervention and termination.

Abstract

As students, we act as agents of change where we must be able to actualize ourselves. One of the forms is by conducting this Field Work Practice. In this case, it is expected to be able to implement and master the theories that have been obtained. Memorizing is an activity by embedding a verbal material in his memory, so that later it can be recalled according to the original material. However, not all children are easy in the memorization process, because children's memory is different. The limited memory of children is very influential in the way a child memorizes. The same thing happened to one of the children at the Al-Jami'yatul Washliyah Orphanage who needed a solution to a problem related to memorization. The process of providing assistance was also carried out in the PKL I mini project activity, using the case work method through the general and general intervention stages. This stage consists of engagement, intake, contract, assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and termination. The focus in solving client problems is to use the cool memorization method, namely 3M (Listening, Repeating, Murja'ah) as a strategy designed together to facilitate the memorization process and increase the client's confidence. The purpose of this program was successfully implemented. This can be seen from the development of clients who are already fluent in memorizing surahs and returning to their social functioning in the orphanage environment.

Abstract

Early adolescence is a period of many changes in children both physically and mentally. During this period, there were many changes in the interactions experienced by individuals and both their families and their social environment. Usually the child will begin to explore himself more which is usually done with his playmates, but on the other hand he will also begin to feel the need for privacy so that he likes to be alone from his family. In a pandemic situation like this, there is a slight shift in children's social interactions, smartphones are an inseparable part of their daily lives, and even become a necessity because they are needed in their education process at school. So that they can no longer be separated from the internet, smartphones and other related things because it has become a habit for them. In this case, the PKL (Field Work Practice) activities to increase children's learning requests that I do will take advantage of this situation through the blended-learning method, which is a learning method that combines online and offline learning using the casework method through several stages consisting of Engagement intake Contract, Assessment. Planning/planning. Evaluation and Termination of Interventions. The focus in this case is to increase children's interest and motivation in learning by utilizing technological advances which have become an inseparable part since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Abstract

Nowdays, social life consists of several phases and levels. As time goes by, individuals begin to interact with their peers because humans keeps growing and developing. Basicly, shifting the unfavorable behavior in teenagers is very difficult, especially when the efforts made to overcome it are not optimal. This can result in teenagers starting to show pathological symptoms, such as juvenile deliquency, motorcycle gangs, brawls between schools, and other bad behaviors, one of which is bullying. bullying acts also occurs in children from the Al Jamiyatul Washliyah Orphanage in Pulo Brayan Medan. Therefore, the purpose of this field Work Practice (Praktik Kerja Lapangan) is to provide assistance to bullying perpetrators, which is implemented in the ‘mini project’ activity using the general casework method, namely Engagement Intake Contract, Asessessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation, and Termination. In the process of providing assistance to clients to make them aware of the harm that bullying impacted. The results found on this program have been achieved, since the client is much better in terms of behavioral acts. This program is also beneficial for not only clients, but also for other children.

Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the most important aspects of a person's personality. A person's self-confidence is a matter of someone being able to overcome a problem with the best situation and can provide something pleasant for others. Self-confidence as a very valuable attribute in oneself in social life, without self-confidence will cause many things to a person. This is because with self-confidence, a person is able to actualize all his potential. Self-confidence is important for every individual to have. Confidence is needed by both a child and a parent, both individually and in groups. Individuals who are confident will view weaknesses as natural for every individual, because confident individuals will turn their weaknesses into motivation to develop their strengths and will not allow their weaknesses to become an obstacle in actualizing their strengths. Children who are confident will be able to accept themselves, ready to accept challenges in the sense of wanting to try something new even though they are aware that the possibility that a person has and tends to succeed in doing what he wants. Meanwhile, children who lack self-confidence will be pessimistic in facing challenges, afraid and hesitant to express ideas, indecisive in choosing and often compare themselves with others. Because personality development, mental and intellectual attitudes are formed from an early age and  need a gradual process, children's self-confidence needs to be built from an early age.

Abstract

The orphanage is a place where many children are placed because they don’t have a sense of belonging to the nuclear family. This sense of belonging triggers teenagers to be lazy to study, feel insecure to feel ashamed to learn something new. Adolescents who live in orphanages need a sense of belonging from their caregivers or their peers. However, this hope is difficult to achieve, this is due to conditions where the caregiver cannot fully become a parent. The number of caregivers is not balanced which causes the quality and quantity of support, attention, and affection from caregivers to be less than optimal. In addition, teenagers who live in orphanages come from different families, so they have differences both in cultural factors, habits, and socialization processes. So with that, the solution offered by the author is about how the children or teenagers were able to hone their critical and thorough thinking skills through learning mathematics. With the Casework method, the expected output on the mini project agenda that was offered was so that the children or youth at the orphanage were able to find their identity and capacity, especially in mathematics which has a strong connection with the education.

Abstract

Attitude development is carried out in children in order to direct children to have good moral attitudes. Especially for children who are at the age of approaching maturity at the age of 11-15 years, because at that age children have thoughts in a mature direction. Attitude development in children this time was carried out by one of the students in making a mini project to solve one client's problem which was my responsibility in the PKL I course, and field work practice was carried out at the Child Welfare Institution. What is meant by Field Work Practice or abbreviated as PKL is the activity of implementing learning theories received in lectures to the field or directly in the community. This Study aims to see the influence of positive activities that can benefit children in   the el-shaddai orphanage through FieldWork Practice The method use in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case stufy approach. The results obtained through the implementation of positive activities in one of the children who experience emotional and personal problems who like to be angry at the orphanage can be concluded that the attitudes and behavior of children do not appear by themselves. one child.
