Abstract

In this journal we will discuss the methods used by the social workers of the Cahaya Hati Anugerah Panti Foundation in providing services to orphanage children.  The existence of the Orphanage Manager or social worker is sure to have a big effect on the growth of the orphans.  The right method will be a good solution to the problems they experience.  Orphanage children need a social worker as a substitute for the role of parents who should be a place to share affection and complaints about problems and suggestions for solving these problems.  The process of solving problems on their own takes quite a long time considering the age of the children at the orphanage. The purpose of this writing is as a result of project base learning activities.  The method used is observation and interviews in the data collection process.  Existing literature sources are also used to assist discussion analysis. The problems that occur in this orphanage also vary, such as the lack of finance for the needs of the orphanage, the house that has not been renovated for the comfort of the caretaker and the orphans and many other problems.  We do this activity as a form to help find solutions to how to solve problems that occur in orphanages.

Abstract

Sexual violence is a social problem that is still common in society and can happen to anyone, both women and men, both children and adults to the elderly. The basic form of prevention of sexual violence against children that can be done is to give them an understanding of the meaning of sexual violence, how to protect themselves and what to do if they experience sexual violence. During this practical field work opportunity, I carried out a mini project in the sexual violence class with NA, who is my client, and 11 grade V students at SDN 060919 and carried out for 3 months from start to finish. Implementation of the mini project through several stages, namely 1) Engagement, Intake, Contract, 2) Assessment, 3) Planning, 4) Intervention, 5) Evaluation and 6) Termination. The results of the implementation of the mini project that has been carried out also show that there has been an increase in NA's understanding such as he understands the concept of sexual violence better and becomes more aware of and knows how to prevent sexual violence from happening to himself, NA becomes wary of strangers and ensures that body parts are private he is not touched by others. This is concrete evidence that the mini project that was implemented succeeded in overcoming NA's problem, namely the lack of self-understanding of sexual violence.

Abstract

Elementary school education can strive to educate and print the life of a nation that is pious, loves and is proud of the nation and country, is skilled, creative, has good character and manners. This education has a role in building the knowledge base of students to be used in further education. As a place for children to study, children also need to be taught manners and manners or good moral attitudes, because manners are very important for each individual in everyday life. Moral is a teaching about good and bad deeds and behavior, morals that everyone has. Moral can be divided into two, namely good morals and bad morals. Seeing the situation where there are still many students who have not used the 4 magic words properly, it is necessary to apply the four magic words namely sorry, please, thank you, and excuse me to students. The target to be achieved is to maximize and increase the use of the four magic words in the school environment for both peers and teachers or those who are older. This was also done using the casework method by Skidmore, Thackeray and Farley. The results obtained from this activity are progress in using the four magic words well with friends in the school environment.

Abstract

Indonesian language is the nation’s unifying language. The language used as the official language of the Indonesian nation and is a communication tool used by Indonesian people. With regard to the Indonesian language, it is very related to literacy. Literacy is the ability to read and write or also known as literacy (Heru Susanto, 2016). Literacy is also interpreted as an education or learning (Muhammad Muiz, n.d.). This literacy is especially important for children in order to minimize the problem of a lack of interest in reading at a child’s productive age. Therefore the purpose of this writing is to seek to increase literacy in order to minimize the problem of a lack of interest in reading in children by using the Micro Intervention stage with the Case Work method which has several stages namely: (1) Engagement intake contact, (2) Assessment, (3) Planning , (4) Intervention, (5) Monitoring, (6) Evaluation, (7) Termination. Elementary school was chosen as a means of instilling literacy because it is expected to literacy habit from an early age, students can acquire literacy habits as a provision for face the future. That will be obtained from the results obtained from this activity is the ability, progress, and willingness to learn and develop literacy in order to increase interest in reading in children, especially children in the productive age of learning.

Abstract

Field Work Practice is a manifestation of students in applying the knowledge gained when attending lectures so that it aims to improve students' skills in developing mindsets, expressing ideas, and gaining insights to become a skilled and qualified workforce. Field Work Practice (PKL) is also a form of community service in accordance with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Community service carried out in the field of education is a process that aims to advance the welfare of the community in accordance with Law No. 10 of 2019 concerning Social Welfare. Social intervention methods in individuals are basically related to efforts to improve or improve the social functioning of individuals. Practice follows one of the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programs, namely the Teaching Campus Program. In this community service activity, the practice carries out its service at UPT SD Negeri 060933. The practice of paying attention to the needs of the school is an innovative activity in improving communication between children and parents. Practice carrying out mini projects as a process of analyzing and solving client problems. If the mini project is successful, the needs of students will be achieved.

Abstract

This text discusses a final project undertaken by an author as part of their requirements for Field Work Practice 1 and Independent Campus Learning and Teaching Activity (ICLTA) at State Elementary School 060840 in Medan City. The author observed and identified issues faced by students, such as a lack of interest in learning and limitations in literacy and numeracy skills. To address this, the author developed a mini project aiming to improve students' learning interest, literacy, and numeracy skills at SDN 060840 Medan. They worked with students from grades one to six, utilizing social group work stages and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as the research method. The project resulted in a significant enhancement of students' literacy and numeracy skills, leading to improved academic performance and practical application of knowledge. Additionally, the project lays the groundwork for continuous learning in the future.

Abstract

Education is one of the important aspects in Indonesia's national development. Since Indonesia's independence, the Indonesian government has been committed to expanding access and improving the quality of education throughout the region from Sabang to Merauke. This is done in order to improve the quality of human resources so that they are expected to be prospective successors of the nation. Can carry forward the ideals of the motherland. So it is necessary to further improve the quality of teaching to students. In a teaching system that tends to be monotonous and boring, it becomes a barrier to the development of students' knowledge and interest in learning. The purpose of this writing is to improve the quality of learning of elementary school students using the basik method. The practice location is on Jl. Polonia GG. B, Kec. Medan Polonia, Medan City, North Sumatra. With the focus of the research subject on grade 1 students as many as 12 students. With a period of practice for 4 months. The method used in this practice is the groupwork method proposed by Zastrow with stages consisting of: (1) Engangement, Intake and Contract, (2) assessment, (3) Planning, (4) Intervention, (5) Monitoring, (6) Evaluation, and (7) Termination. The results of this practice show an increase in interest in learning and confidence in students. This is an example of improving the quality of learning.

Abstract

The learning process is essentially a process of interaction between teachers and learners, the process is the delivery of messages from teachers through certain media to the recipient of the message or learners. In the process of learning an educator must try to achieve the goal as much as possible. One of these efforts is to use teaching methods, educators who teach using effective and efficient methods can heighten the interest and attention of learners and achieve learning goals. One method that can be applied as an educator is the Competitive Based Learning method, which is a learning method that utilizes competition or competition to increase learning interest, and measure the success rate of learning that has been done by students or learners. The purpose of community service activities apart from fulfilling the fieldwork practices assignments is to help increase the motivation of learners towards learning in the classroom. With the application of the competition method has a positive impact so as to make students more motivated in following the learning, this can be seen from the enthusiasm and courage of the students of Sekolah Dasar Negeri 060880 Medan Polonia.

Abstract

Kampung Bali Bekasi is a tourist destination with elements of authentic Balinese culture in the city of Bekasi. This cultural tourism destination, which is more or less three years old, has attracted the interest of the public and the media to come and cover them. The enthusiasm of the people who came to visit there was mostly to treat their curiosity and share the moments there on the social media they used. However, this is not followed by the management of Kampung Bali Bekasi, which actually has an Instagram account as a medium of communication. However, it cannot be categorized as optimal because it does not produce audio-visual content there too often. Therefore, this activity aims to conduct training and assistance in making audio-visual media in preserving local culture and developing cultural tourism destinations in Kampung Bali Bekasi. This community service is carried out using a descriptive qualitative approach and narrative analysis. This activity resulted in two activities that were well received by the people of Kampung Bali Bekasi. First, training in making audio-visual media generates community understanding and knowledge on how to make good audio-visual content with the theme Kampung Bali Bekasi. Then the assistance in making audio visual media generates an understanding regarding the choice of social media and good forms of content so that Kampung Bali Bekasi can develop their cultural tourism destinations through social media.

Abstract

The Meninting River Basin in Midang Village, located in West Lombok Regency, is one of the rivers that has been contaminated by microplastic waste. Therefore, it is deemed necessary to optimize public knowledge regarding the management of waste generated from daily life. This community engagement process goes through four steps. First, by conducting observations of the environmental issues at hand; the second step involves analyzing the problem-solving approach and it is found that there is a need to optimize the role of the community in preserving the environment. The third step is the preparation for the execution of the community engagement, encompassing planning and organizing the implementation of activities. The fourth step is the execution of the community engagement carried out through lectures and discussions, simultaneously disseminating regulations regarding environmental protection and management. This activity subsequently generates new knowledge for the community to be able to manage household waste wisely and economically. The goal of this activity is for residents to spread the acquired information or knowledge to others, in order to create business opportunities for the community and to maintain a cleaner environment.
