Abstract

The study was carried out for 2 months on the grassland in Kambata Wundut Village district Lewa Sumba Timur regency. The study aimed at evaluating crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CF), and Ca content of native grassland in dry season. Survey method and on the field evaluation using 1m x1m square frame. Collected data were analyzed to calculate the available CP, CF, and Ca content. The result found that the available CP, CF, and Ca respectively were 8,30%, 31,18%, 0,69%.

Abstract

The study was carried out in Desa Bangka Kantar, Kecamatan Borong, Kabupaten Manggarai Timur, for one month, divided into 2 periods: pre-survey and data collection. The study aimed at forage productivity, botanical composition and carry capacity of wild pasture in Desa Bangka Kantar, Kecamatan Borong, Kabupaten Manggarai Timur. Survey method by on the field observation technique to collect primer data was applied. Collected data were tabulated to find out the average of forage productivity, botanical composition, and carry capacity of the pasture. The results found were: forage productivity: 2274.79 Kg/Ha fresh or 756.14 Kg/Ha DM weight which can be shepherd for 0.44AU/Ha; botanical composition consisted of 67.26% grass and 19.73% legume. The conclusion is that forage productivity and carry capacity of wild pasture in Desa Bangka Kantar are low which is composed mainly by grass.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know how much influence of bokashi fertilizer with various types of livestock manure on the production of fresh material, dried material, and organic matter of setaria grass. The material used was spetalata setaria grass. The research method is experimental method with Completely Randomized Design consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments studied were as follows: Treatment A: Setaria grass planted without Bokashi fertilizer, Treatment B: Setaria grass planted with the addition of bokashi pig feces (300gr / polybag), Treatment C: Setaria  grass planted with the addition of bokashi fertilizer from chicken feces (300gr / polybag), Treatment D: Setariara grass planted with the addition of bokashi fertilizer from goat's feces (300gr / polybag). The result of statistical analysis showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P> 0,05) on the production of fresh material, dry matterial and organic matterial of Setaria sphacelata grass.

Abstract

This study was carried out during 2 month on Natural Grassland area Kambata Wundut, Lewa sub-district, East Sumba Regency. The study almed at evaluating botany composition, forage production and cacry capacity of dry season pasture. Survey and and on the field measurement methods were used in the study. Forage production  was measured using Actual Weight Estimate method using 1m x 1m frame tool. Data were collected and tabulated to calculate botany precentage and composition, forage production and carry capacity of the pasture, Statistical analysis showed that Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) 60,96%,(grass), 26,48% (weeds) and 12,56% ( legum); forage production 2,725 kg / Ha fresh or 2,082,9 kg / ha DM weight. in the pasture has a carry capacity1.02 AU / Ha / Year which for adult cattle weighing 300 Kg.

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the body size of crossbred from several strains of cocks with local Sabu hens. The research method was used Completely Randomized Design with three treatments and four replications. The material used was 15 head of chickens (3 males and 12 females) and 48 progenies. The variables measured were body weight, chest circumference, wingspan and shank length at four weeks of age. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and if there were found significantly effect, it woull be continued with the least significant difference test (LSD). The results showed that the treatment (males) had a highly significant effect (P<0.01) on body weight and wingspan, significant effect (P<0.05) to the chest circumference and not significant effect (P>0.05) on shank length of the crosbred of local Sabu hens. Based on the results obtained, it could be concluded that the crossbreeding between the laying cock with  the hens oflocal Sabu hadprogenies with the best body size performances.

Abstract

Ende subdistrict is one of the 21 subdistricts in Ende District. The pig selling in Ende District was conducted by two form those were live animal selling and meat selling. Selling price of the pig is determaind by live weight of the pig, consumen bought pig for raising, costume, party, and self consumphim. The pig wos slaughter not of Abetoran, meat selling is in the from of porsim. The ways of pig selling in fluence revenue and income. The objective of this research was to know the income of the two ways of selling. Method usedin in the research was survey method. The determaind of the sample village was conducted purposively by considering village applied the mont the two ways of pig selling. So that obtain three sample villages namely Nsetundora I, Ndetundora II, and Ndetundora III. The determation of sample farmer used simple random method. So that obtaimed 62 sample farmers (responden). Criteria was responden have raised pig over two years and have ever sold. The analyse used was income analysis and mean different test (t test). The result of the analysis indicated that mean income from animal live selling was Rp5.212.171/1AU, other wise mean income from meat selling was Rp.11.935.636/1AU. The result of t-test in dicated that there was very significant difference of mean income from two ways of pig selling. The condussion of this research was meat selling having higher mean income than animal live selling.

Abstract

The study was carried out on natural pasture in Desa Bena Kecamatan Amanuban Selatan Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan. The study aimed at botany composition, forage production, and carry capacity of early dry season of the natural pasture. Survey by on the field measurement method was used in the study. Forage production was estimated with Actual Weight Estimate methodusing 1 m x 1 m frame square tool. Collected data were tabulated and calculated to obtain botany percentage and composition, forage production, and carry capacity. Statistical analysis showed that natural pasture in Desa Bena Kecamatan Amanuban Selatan Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan has Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) grass71.65%, legume 27.87%, and weeds 0.48%, with forage production 727.75, Kgfresh/Hapr 53.18 kg DM in dry season. It is estimated that the natural pasture can carry 0.436 AU/Ha/year. Based on the botany composition, it is recomended that natural pasture in Desa Bena Kecamatan Amanuban Selatan Kabupaten Timor Tengah need legume introduction to maximize the carry capacity of the pasture.

Abstract

Tingginya permintaan daging ayam dikarenakan harga daging ayam relatif murah dibandingkan dengan daging babi dan daging sapi. Oleh karena itu konsumen lebih cenderung memilih untuk membeli daging yang lebih murah agar dapat mengurangi anggaran belanja untuk konsumsi. Meningkatnya jumlah anggota keluarga mengakibatkan banyak permintaan barang dan jasa juga meningkat. Adanya perubahan pola konsumsi serta selera masyarakat di Kota Bajawa kearah protein hewani telah meningkat,sehingga meningkat pula kebutuhan akan daging ayam. Selain pertambahan anggota keluarga, ada beberapa faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi tingkat permintaan daging ayam broiler di Kota Bajawa, antara lain: harga daging ayam broiler itu sendiri, harga barang substitusi yakni harga ikan segar, harga telur ayam, serta pendapatan, pendidikan, selera preferensi, jumlah anggota keluarga, sosial budaya dan motif – motif konsumen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) Mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis faktor–faktor yang mempengaruhi permintaan ayam broiler di Kecamatan Bajawa; 2) Menganalisis elastisitas permintaan ayam broiler di Kecamatan Bajawa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif (korelasi, analisis power function Cobb-Douglas). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa empat faktor yang memiliki hubungan yang sangat nyata dengan permintaan daging ayam broiler (Y), yaitu harga daging ayam broiler (X1), harga telur (X3), pendapatan (X5), tingkat pendidikan (X6). Kata Kunci: Permintaan, daging ayam broiler, faktor pengaruh. The high demand for chicken meat is due to the relatively cheap price of chicken compared to pork and beef. Therefore, consumers are more likely to choose to buy cheaper meat in order to reduce the budget for consumption. The increase in the number of family members has resulted in much demand for goods and services also increasing. The change in consumption patterns and tastes of the people in the city of Bajawa towards animal protein has increased, so there is an increasing need for chicken meat. In addition to the addition of family members, there are several factors that can affect the level of demand for broiler chicken meat in Bajawa City, among others: the price of broiler chicken meat itself, the price of substitute goods for fresh fish prices, the price of chicken eggs, as well as income, education, preference, number family members, socio-cultural and consumer motives. The purpose of this study is 1) To identify and analyze the factors that influence the demand for broiler chickens in Bajawa Subdistrict; 2) Analyzing the elasticity of demand for broilers in Bajawa District. The method used in this study is the survey method. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively (correlation, Cobb-Douglas power function analysis). The results showed that four factors had a very significant relationship with the demand for broiler chicken (Y), namely the price of broiler chicken meat (X1), egg price (X3), income (X5), education level (X6). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan konsentrat mengandung tepung bonggol pisang hasil fermentasi khamir saccarhomyeces cerevisae terhadap konversi ransum, efesiensi penggunaan ransum dan efesiensi penggunaan protein ternak kambing lokal betina. Ternak yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ternak kambing lokal betina sebanyak 12 ekor yang berumur antara 4-6 bulan dengan kisaran berat badan ternak 9-13 kg, dengan rataan10,5kg dan koefisien varians 14,762%. Metode penelitian yang di gunakan adalah metode percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Adapun perlakuan tersebut yaitu : P0 = pakan basal + konsentrat tanpa bonggol pisang P1 = Pakan basal + konsentrat 10% tepung bonggol pisang P2 = pakan basal +konsentrat mengandung 20% tepung bonggol pisang, P3 = Pakan basal + konsentrat mengandung 30% tepung bonggol pisang 30%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konversi ransum P0 = 11,61 ± 1,55 P1 = 9,47 ± 2,12 P2 = 8,23 ± 0,36 P3 = 9,16 ± 1,37, efesiensi penggunaan ransum (%) P0 = 8,72 ± 1,24 P1 = 10,90 ± 2,24 P2 = 12,17 ± 0,53 P3 = 11,10 ± 1,82 dan efesiensi penggunaan protein (%) P0 = 44,67 ± 0,301 P1 = 53,85 ± 0,43 P2 = 59,39 ± 0,07P3 = 55,89 ± 0,2. Hasil analisis statistic menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05). Kesimpulan : pemberian pakan konsentrat mengandung tepung bonggol pisang hasil fermentasi memberikan pengaruh yang sama terhadap konversi ransum, efesiensi penggunaan ransum, efesiensi penggunaan protein ternak kambing lokal betina. Kata kunci: kambing ,Saccharomyeces, konsentrat, konversi efesiensi, protein. The study aimed to evaluating the effect of including concentrate cointaining Saccarhomyeces cerevisiae fermented banana corm on feed conversion, feed efficiency, and protein efficiency of local ewe. There were 12 local e wes 4-6 months old with 9-13 kg (average 10.5kg; CV 14.76%) initial body weight used in the study. Trial method using completely randomized design 4 treatments with 3 replicates applied in the study. The 4 treatments applied were: P0; local grass + concentrate feed (70:30) without fermented banana corm; P1: local grass + concentrate feed containing 10% fermented banana corm; P2; local grass + concentrate feed containing 20% fermented banana corm; and P3: local grass + concentrate feed containing 30% fermented banana corm. The results found were : feed conversion P0 = 11.61 ± 1.55 P1 = 9.47 ± 2.12 P2 = 8.23 ± 0.36; P3 = 9.16 ± 1.37 feed efficiency (%) P0 = 8.72 ± 1.24 P1 = 10.90 ± 2.24 P2 = 12.17 ± 0.53 P3 = 11.10 ±1 .82; and protien efficiency (%) P0 = 44.67±0.301; P1= 53.85 ± 0.43 ; P2 = 59.39 ± 0.07 ; P3 = 55.89 ± 0.27. Statical analysis shows that the effect of treatment is not significant (P>0.05) on all variables studied. The conclusion is that including containing Saccharomices cerevisiae fermented banana corm performs the similar results in feed conversion, feed efficiency and protein efficiency of local ewee. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan tepung krokot (Portulaca oleracea L) dalam ransum terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi ransum dan Income Over Feed Cost pada ternak babi pranakan landrace fase grower-finisher. Materi yang digunakan adalah 12 ekor ternak babi peranakan landrace, berumur 4 – 5 bulan dengan bobot badan awal 65 – 77 kg dengan rataan 72,42kg (KV=25,47%). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode percobaan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) 4 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan terdiri dari: R0: 100% ransum basal tanpa tepung krokot (kontrol), R1: 95% ransum basal + 5% tepung krokot, R2: 92,5% ransum basal + 7,5% tepung krokot, R3: 90% ransum basal + 10% tepung krokot. Variabel yang diukur adalah konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi ransum dan Income Over Feed Cost. Hasil analisis ragam ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat badan, konversi ransum dan income over feed cost ternak babi penelitian. Kesimpulan, penggunaan tepung krokot 5% 7,5% dan 10% dalam ransum basal meningkatkan konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi ransum dan income over feed cost yang relatif sama. Nilai IOFC tertinggi ditampilkan perlakuan R3, yakni Rp 795.210. Kata kunci: Babi, Performan, IOFC, Krokot. The study aimed at evaluating the effect of including purslane (Portulaca oleracea L) meal into basal feed on performance (feed intake, daily weight gain and feed conversion), and income over feed cost (IOFC) of grower-finisher crossbred landrace pig. There were 12 4-5 months old crossbred landrace pigs with 65-77 kg (average 72,42kg; CV 25.4%) initial body weight used in the study. Trial method using 4 treatments with 3 replicates block design procedure was applied in the study. The 4 treatments offered were R0: 100% basal feed without purslane meal (control); R1: 95% basal feed + 5% purslane meal; R2: 92.5% basal feed + 7.5% purslane meal; and R3: 90% basal feed + 10% purslane meal. Variable studied were: daily feed intake, daily body weight gain (ADG); feed conversion; and IOFC. Statistical analysis shows that the effect of treatment is not significant (P>0.5) on increasing either daily feed intake, ADG, feed conversion, or IOFC value. The conclusion is that including 5% 7.5% and 10% purslane meal into basal feed performs the relative results in increasing daily feed intake, daily weight gain, feed conversion, and income over feed cost of grower-finisher crossbred landrace pig. The highest IOFC value was achieved at R3 (IDR 795.210). Key Word: pig, performance, IOFC, purslane.
