Abstract

Wheat as raw material for flour, is milled using a Fluted Roll in a Roll Mill machine. Fluted Rolls are made through a machining process that aims to obtain the desired shape, size, and level of surface roughness. This study aims to determine the material contained in Fluted Rolls and the process of making Fluted Rolls through machining processes, such as milling and scraping, as well as welding processes. The results of this study conclude the fluted roll machining process using steel medium carbon, namely JIS S45C and high alloy steel (High Alloy Steel) namely AISI 410, the milling process uses a vertical milling machine, and the scrap machining process uses a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) scrap machine in making flutes on the fluted roll surface. In the milling process using a blade diameter of 20 mm and a main spindle speed of 600 rpm, the machine's cutting speed is 37.68 mm/minute. Welding process on fluted roll aims to connect the milled shaft with the roller mill using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas). In the scrap machining process, the feeding speed used is 9000 mm/minute and the chisel return speed to point 0 is 27132 mm/minute, resulting in a one-time feeding time of 14.24 seconds. The total time for working on fluted rolls with B3f specifications is the total flute 550, diameter 250 mm, length 1250 mm, and the slope of the flutes that form a spiral is 10% for 2 hours 10 minutes 53 seconds.

Abstract

This battery-based lawn mower is a simple tool to cut grass efficiently and quickly without having to use gasoline and also without the need for an electric plug adapter to move the mower. The purpose of this paper is to be able to design a lawn mower, to know what components are used in the work process and also to know the working process of making a lawn mower. The main power source of this tool is from a series of 21 18650 series batteries with a capacity of 46 A which are connected in parallel and in series and combined with the BMS 3s module for protection and control of the system. With a large enough battery capacity, this tool is able to operate for approximately 45-60 minutes of use.

Abstract

Rice is a strategic commodity that directly affects the lives of the majority of the Indonesian population, therefore the program to increase rice production gets a top priority from the government to achieve food security and farmers' welfare. The work of farmers in order to increase domestic rice production, for example is the Rice Milling Unit (RMU). The technology that is usually used in producing grain into rice, one of which is a husker (husker) machine. grains of rice, in the rice mill there is a husker machine weighing 115 kg which is only based on the floor so the machine requires a support or foundation so as not to cause vibrations that can damage the structure of the building around it, therefore it is necessary to make a design the support frame is sturdy and also flexible. To determine the strength of the frame, it is necessary to analyze the calculation of the frame simulation which includes the simulation of Von misses, Displacement and Safety factor, the simulation is carried out at a load of 1127 N which produces a Von misses max value of 102,486 MPa, with the highest displacement value of 0.274 mm and the lowest value of 0. mm, and produces a safety factor value of 2,439. with the value of the safety factor, it can be said that the frame construction is safe.

Abstract

This simulation was using the parallel configuration in Simulink modeling (MATLAB software) to be obtained engine and vehicle performance result. The base vehicle using Toyota Soluna with added parallel drive train configuration with electric motor in rear side, the simulation purpose for determined an efficiency using electric motor with a model brushless DC motor maximum power 11 kW. Another purpose was knowing maximum velocity for Toyota Soluna using ICE engine with added a battery and electrical component using simulation, this simulating would be run after connecting subsystems inside program, the subsystem resembled a engine function, electrical component, transmission and mechanical component.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, this triggers the use of technology that is carried out online. Currently, the Koi fish shop is still using the conventional sales system, where customers come directly to the shop so that they can be served as well as the buying and selling process, where buyers come directly to see the fish they want to buy or their accessories. Customers who are interested in the accessories and fish offered at the Koi Shop, the transaction process directly occurs at the store. Based on these needs, a koi fish online shop website was created. The koi fish shop website uses the PHP programming language and MySQL as the database. Making this web refers to the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) stage, including the planning, analysis, design, implementation and testing phases. Customers can register an account in advance to be able to place orders and make payments. Product orders can be accessed on various platforms, namely computers and smartphones. With the existence of this website, it is hoped that the koi fish shop can grow more in terms of sales and attract customers. Sourced from the browser and device test table, the application runs well and the display corresponds to the original on the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers, while Microsoft Edge takes time to display properly and the application runs well, neatly and in accordance with the original on the smartphone device installed on the device test.

Abstract

Flame Retardant (FR) is a type of thermoplastic material that is resistant to fire. Application of FR on various types of plastic resins such as polypropylene (PP), Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and other types of plastic resins. This study discusses the analysis of Brominated Aromatic Compound as a mixture of Polypropylene to produce PP-FR types for plastic injection molding with the material formulation method to perform a flame retardant test on the results of the specimens that have been made. This study shows that PP material and Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene can bind scanning microscopes with ×15,000 and ×30,000 zoom. The extrusion process results did not experience cracks after going through a chamber test of -5 ◦C to 70 ◦C for 120 hours on the specimen. In addition, the results of the flame retardant test fire can die in under 2 seconds

Abstract

Solar panels are a tool that serves to convert sunlight into electrical voltage, sunlight itself contained energy in the form of photons. In this photon hit the surface of the electron solar cell panel that will be excited and cause electricity. This is known as the photoelectric principle. Every day the earth rotates on its axis while orbiting along the ellipse. Where along the plane of the earth's orbit is called the ecliptic plane so that it affects the geothermal received. So in this study analyzed the angle of the panel with the battery charging time needed on wood cutting equipment. From the results of testing and observation of the most effective tilt angle and with the highest power is an angle of 30°. Where the intensity of sunlight received by solar panels is very influential that determines the amount of electrical output or power generated by solar panels. Due to erratic weather and average power generated during 7 hours of measurement and observation produces 55.29 Watts then the power passed on the scc (controller) for the battery charging time for 7 hours then (7 hours × 55.29 Watt = 387.03 Watts / h) after being calculated to get a total load of 328.98 Wh and the length of battery charging time at full condition (full) is 1.64 Hours (h) with the slope angle sample taken is an angle of 30° with power highest.

Abstract

A heat exchanger is a device used to exchange heat and can usually function as a heater or a cooler. There are many types of heat exchangers available today. But the most widely used in industry is the shell and tube type heat exchanger. The shell and tube type heat exchanger has the advantages of being affordable, easy to maintain and has excellent heat transfer performance with a small volume. This paper aims to analyze the effect of mass flow rate on cold water inflow and hot water outlet temperature using water fluid in shell and tube heat exchanger. The design analysis that I did using the Solidworks 2019 software. This study only made a comparison by changing the mass flow velocity at the inflow of cold water with samples of 5 Kg/s, 10 Kg/s, 15 Kg/s, 20 Kg/s, 25 Kg/ s and 30 Kg/s and only sampled the hot water outlet temperature. The material used is stainless steel 321 on the shell and copper on the tube. The test results show that every increase of a multiple of 5 Kg/s there is a decrease in the average fluid temperature of 1.62 ℃ and the lowest temperature that can be achieved in this test is 52.33 ℃

Abstract

Injection is manufacturing process for make a product using thermoplastic material, critical part for electric normally should be self-protecting from fire. Flame Retardant (FR) is a type of thermoplastic material that is resistant to fire and can to mixed additive between resin plastic. Application of FR on various types of plastic resins such as polypropylene (PP). This study discusses the analysis of flame retardant for cover electrical using material polypropylene and benzene additive compound. This study shows that PP and benzene can mixed for create FR grade for application injection plastic. In the physical structure this material has a crack after scanning ×10,000. that elongation of material has a different in some temperature, for 30 ◦C elongation of material is 50%, for 60 ◦C elongation material is 60% and for 90◦C elongation about 90%. Heat capacity of material average in 2700J/kg◦C. average of drop time fire in cover electric average is 1,12 second.

Abstract

Sekolah Master or Master’s Schools is one of the schools for Education for equality of students for the less fortunate. One of the obstacles that master schools have is the absence of technology in student enrollment in schools. Many students wish to enroll and continue Education in masters schools to get an equivalency Education, so as to have the recognition of such Educational status. So far, schools are still using conventional methods in registration. Where, students and parents or families must come to school to register students or students by bringing the required documents, not to mention the requirements that cannot be completed, even queue time is needed to be served by the operator or staff on duty at the school. This shows that a technological device or system is needed to facilitate student enrollment in schools. One method that can be used to collect the required requirements and make a design is the prototyping method. The prototyping method is one of the methods used as an effort to develop a system with almost finished services and products. This method produces an analysis of functional and non-functional requirements that form the basis of the system that can be developed. This research also produced a design with a navigation structure, use case diagrams with a unified modeling language, relation tables, and interface proposals from end users and admins. This interface is used as a basis for the system to be made as a user-approved interface, so that the development of this system can be carried out properly during implementation and future trials.
