Abstract

In the 2013 curriculum, students are demanded to be active in learning process. To actualize it, teacher should has adequate ability and skills by implementing appropriate learning model in teaching. Purpose of the research was to know effect of Active Learning in form of scientific approach with assistance of student worksheets based Problem Based Learning to wards students' Biology competence in Bacterial material.  The research method used a quasi experimental research by using randomized control posted only design. The population was students in grade X MIPA of SMAN 1 Pasaman registered in academic  year 2018/2019. Samples were taken by using Purposive Sampling technique. Instrument used was psychomotor competence observation sheet. Data analysis was conducted by using Mann Whitney U test. The finding showed that there is a significant difference between students' biology competence in experimental class and control class, in which students' biology competence in experimental class is higher than in control class. Average score of students' biology competence in experimental class is 3.34 (B+) and in control class is 3.17 (B). So, it can be concluded that Active Learning in form of scientific approach with assistance of student worksheets based Problem Based Learning can improve students Biology competence.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the still limited learning of mathematics as a means of supporting learning in the 2013 Curriculum. The purpose of this study was to produce some products in the form of learning devices (syllabus, RPP and LKPD) on the material for the flat side building of VIII Middle School with discovery learning models that meet valid, practical, and effective criteria for improving students mathematical critical thinking skills. Learning tools are developed using the 4-D model, which are define, design, develop and assess. The research instrument used was an instrument of validity in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, RPP and LKPD as well as a practical instrument in the form of a teacher observation sheet activity in applying the discovery learning model and student questionnaire responses to assess the practicality of LKPD. The results of the validation of the experts stated that the product developed reached a valid category with an average rating of 76.67% for syllabus, 76.67% for RPP and 88.04% for LKPD. Learning devices are considered very practical in small group trials with an average response of 96.44% students and large group trials from the observation sheet of teacher activity 93.71% and the average response of students 87.77%. The learning tools have been proved to improve students mathematical critical thinking skills in terms of an average N-gain of 0.53 in the medium category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Guided Inquiry (GI) learning model with Thingking Empowering By Questioning (TEQ) on student cognitive learning outcomes. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest posttest control group design. The population of this research was the students of class XI MIPA SMAN 3 Dumai in the academic year 2018/2019. Sampling method was done using random sampling techniques to get experiment and control class. The parameters measured were cognitive learning outcomes and the instrument used was an objective test. The data analysis technique for testing hypotheses was independent t-test. Data analysis showed sig ˂ 0.05 then H0 was rejected, this shows that student learning outcomes with the Guided Inqury model with Thingking Empowering By Questioning were significantly different from student learning outcomes with conventional models. Student learning outcomes using the Guided Inqury learning model with Thingking Empowering By Questioning are better than student learning outcomes using conventional learning. The average value of student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 81.82 while the control class was 61.29. The average N-gain of the experimental group was 0.70 with a high category and the control group was 0.38 with a moderate category.

Abstract

The goal of achieving student learning outcomes is not entirely only values in numbers or cognitive learning outcomes. But it also attaches great importance to the affective learning outcomes shown in attitudes or behavior. This study aims to analyze the effect of contextual learning approaches and teacher morale on learning motivation and its impact on student affective learning outcomes. The population in this study were 728 grade 8 students of SMP Negeri 20 and SMP Negeri 23 in Tampan. With the cluster random sampling technique a sample of 155 students was obtained. Data collection used a questionnaire then the data were analyzed by path analysis. The results found that contextual learning approaches have an influence on student motivation, the experience of working with friends while learning has an effect on student motivation and learning behavior, a positive effect on behavior is shown in attitudes manifested in affective domain learning outcomes. The work spirit of the teacher contributes to student affective learning outcomes, high teacher enthusiasm and the teacher's ability have an effect on student motivation to positively impact student affective learning outcomes.
