Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the incidence and impact of cyberbullying in early adolescence. The participants were 157 male and 196 female that range 12-15 year. The results of this study indicated that 78 percent of participants saw cyberbullying, 21 percent of them were cyberbullyer, and 49 percent of them were the victim. Cyberbullying was done through written, sound, or image. The mostly media they used were Facebook, SMS, and Instagram. The kind of cyberbullying experienced by victims were mockery, slander, threats, and make them as a talking object. The puspose of cyber-bullyers were as a joking, revenge, and because they can hide their identity anonymous. Cyber-Bullying make the victims felt angry, embarrassed, unable to concentration to learn, and fear. The cyberbullying victims confessed that they felt more serious psychological impact than traditional bullying.AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kejadian dan dampak perundungan maya pada remaja awal. Partisipan penelitian adalah 157 remaja laki-laki dan 196 remaja perempuan, dengan rentang usia 12-15 tahun. Hasil deskriptif penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 78% responden pernah melihat perundungan maya, 21% responden pernah menjadi pelaku, dan 49 % responden pernah menjadi korban. Perundungan banyak dilakukan melalui media tulisan, suara, atau gambar. Adapun media online yang paling banyak digunakan adalah Facebook, SMS, dan Instagram. Bentuk perundungan maya yang dialami korban adalah ejekan, fitnah, ancaman, dan menjadi objek gosip. Pelaku melakaukan perundungan bertujuan untuk bercanda, balas dendam, dan karena dapat menyembunyikan identitas. Perundungan maya menyebabkan korban merasa marah, malu, tidak bisa konsentrasi belajar, dan takut. Korban perundungan maya mengaku bahwa dampak mental yang dialami lebih serius dibanding dengan perundungan di dunia nyata.

Abstract

Statistics as a tool in Psychology often being considered as difficult by students. This research aimed to examine effectiveness of comic as learning tool to improve Statistics achievement. Participants of this research were thirty undergraduate students and divided into three groups, Experiment (receive Statistics comic as treatment), Control (no treatment), and Comparison (receive conventional material). The effectiveness of comic were showed in changes in Statistics achievement test results (between group experimental design). The result showed significant changes on each group before and after learning. Experiment Group exhibited most impactful change that evidenced can improve students’ achievement in Statistics.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify the relationship of religious coping with self-compassion, gratitude with self-compassion, and the relationship of both religious coping and gratitude with self-compassion on postnatal visually impaired early adults at PSBN Wyataguna Kota Bandung. This study used quantitative method with 79 postnatal visually impaired students as participants. Iranian Religious Coping Instrument was used to measure religious coping in this study, GQ-6 instrument was used to measure gratitude, and Self-Compassion Scale was used to measure self-compassion. Data analysis technic that was used in this study was simple correlation and linear regression. Result of this study showed that religious coping and gratitude are positively correlated to self compassion with a score of 0.614.

Abstract

Abstract This research is aimed to investigate the effect of Social Story intervention combined with roleplay to increase social competence, such as social understanding and social skill on a teenager with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The design of this research is single subject design, with a 14-year-old teenage boy with ASD as a participant. Social understanding was measured by answers from the participant on social story worksheet, whereas social skill was measured qualitatively observed during roleplay and on natural settings. The results showed that the implementation of Social Story combined with roleplay improves the social competence, cognitively (social understanding) and behaviourally (social skill) on a teenager with ASD.   AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek dari intervensi yang menerapkan Social Story dan roleplay untuk mengembangkan kompetensi sosial yang terdiri atas pamahaman sosial dan keterampilan sosial pada remaja dengan Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Desain penelitian ini adalah single-subject design, dengan seorang remaja laki-laki berusia 14 tahun tahun yang didiagnosa memiliki ASD sebagai partisipan. Pemahaman sosial secara kognitif diperoleh dari jawaban partisipan pada lembar kerja Social Story. Sedangkan dari ranah perilaku, pemahaman sosial tercermin dari perilaku yang ditampilkan saat roleplay dan di situasi alamiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Social Story dan roleplay berhasil meningkatkan kompetensi sosial, baik secara kognitif (pemahaman sosial) maupun secara perilaku (keterampilan sosial) pada remaja dengan ASD.

Abstract

This study aimed to adapt the measurement of Interest in Research developed by Bishop and Bieschke (1998). This development is necessary to map the potential of lecturers in research interest. This further will be useful for the development of programs or policies that facilitate the increasing of lecturer interest towards research. The measurement tools that have been adapted here, comprising Research Self-Efficacy and Interest in Research. Based on previous finding, these two were more significant in predicting Research Productivity (Bieschke, Herbert, and Bard, 1998). The development of these measurements was analyzed by the construct validity testing, criterion-based validity testing, and reliability testing. The result of the construct validity testing of the Research Self-Efficacy by using Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA) has exhibited three dimensions namely: Research Implementation, Research Planning, and Research Teamwork. The result of criterion-based validity testing has indicated a significant positive correlation between Research Self-Efficacy and Research Productivity (0.321) and between Interest in Research and Research Productivity (0.229). Whilst the result of reliability testing has indicated that both measuring instruments have high reliability, that is equal to 0.981 for Research Self-Efficacy, and 0.953 for Interest in Research.

Abstract

This study aimed to prove cooperative learning in improving mathematics learning readiness of Islamic junior high school (MTs) students. This research was an experimental study with 50 partisipants that devided randomly in two groups, experiment and control. The design of the experiment was a pretest-posttest control group. The experiment was engeged in cooperative learning in mathematics subject and the control group only learned mathematic subject in traditional methods. The instrument was students' readiness questionaire with reliability coefficient of 0.913. The results showed that cooperative learning methods improved the mathematics learning readiness of Islamic Junior High School students. Mathematics learning readiness is important to improved before the students learn mathematics in class.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the psychometric properties of MDS3 (Marylands Safety and Supportive School) school climate measurement tools which are adapted in Indonesian to high school students. The study participants consisted of 200 public and private high school students in Bandung. The MDS3 instrument in the English version translated into Indonesian consists of 56 items that have three dimensions namely Safety, Engagement and Environment. Psychometric analyzes such as item-total correlation, Alpha reliability, and exploratory factor analysis were performed as empirical evidence of the psychometric quality of this instrument. The results of this study indicated that the reliability of this instrument is high, 0.881 with item discrimination power or total-item correlations that are relatively weak in the Safety Dimension. Exploratory factor analysis also showed unsatisfactory results on the Safety dimension because many items are different from the model of the factor structure of school climate measurement tools. The lack of fit models used in factor analysis could be due to inadequate or insufficient samples because only at state high schools, while only one respondent came from private high schools. Adding samples and repairing items needs to be done to improve the quality of the Indonesian version of the MDS3.

Abstract

Abstract  The Covid-19 pandemic has created a policy of maintaining physical and social distancing. The lifestyle changes caused by the Covid-19 pandemic have the potential to cause stress to students. The aim of this study is to determine the level stress of college students during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. Data were obtained using the DASS-21 instrument. The research respondents were 520 students from 11 different faculties at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The results showed as many as 448 students (86 percent) experienced stress in the normal category, 62 students (12 percent) experienced mild stress, and 10 students (2 percent) were under moderate stress. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that most of the students or 448 students (86 percent) experienced normal stress due to the Covid-19 pandemic.    Abstrak Pandemi Covid-19 membuat adanya kebijakan menjaga jarak fisik dan pembatasan sosial. Perubahan gaya hidup yang disebabkan oleh pandemi Covid-19 berpotensi menimbulkan stres pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat stres pada mahasiswa selama pandemi Covid-19. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen DASS-21. Responden penelitian sebanyak 520 mahasiswa yang berasal dari 11 fakultas yang berbeda di Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 448 mahasiswa (86 persen) mengalami stres dalam kategori normal, 62 mahasiswa (12 persen) mengalami stres ringan, dan 10 mahasiswa (2 persen) berada dalam kondisi stres sedang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa atau 448 mahasiswa (86 persen) mengalami stres yang normal akibat adanya pandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

This study to examine the role of work-family conflict in mediating relationships of social support and job satisfaction in female nurses. The approach used hierarchical regression analysis with social support as independent variable, job satisfaction as dependent variable, and work-family conflict (WFC) as mediator. Each variable was measured using a questionnaire given to participants consisting of 80 female nurses. The study found that social support had a significant positive contribution to nurse job satisfaction, and the contribution was mediated by work-family conflict.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of intensity of social media use to body dissatisfaction moderated by self-compassion among early adulthood. This research used quantitative research method with 403 early adulthood participated in this research. Instruments used were Intensitas Penggunaan Media Sosial (IPMS) to measure intensity of social media use, Multiple Body-Self Related Questionnaire Appearance Scales (MBSRQAS) to measure body dissatisfaction, and Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) to measure selfcompassion. The analysis technique used is Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). Result show that intensity of social media use influences body dissatisfaction with a significance value 0.006. Self-compassion influences body dissatisfaction with significance value 0.000. Self-compassion moderated the influence of intensity of social media use on body dissatisfaction with significance value 0.000.
