Gadjah Mada Journal of Professional Psychology (GamaJPP) e-ISSN 2407-7801 is an open-access journal disseminating articles with implications for research and practices professional psychology. Abstract

Depression  in  patients  of  stroke causes  a  decrease  in  health,  quality  of  life,  and positive feelings. Behavioral Activation (BA) is a technique that consists of various series of activities  that  can  increase  happiness,  productivity, and patient's  meaning  of  life.  BA  for depression in stroke patients still needs to be developed more in clinical setting. Therefore, we  need  a  treatment  guideline  for  psychologists  in  conducting  assessment, diagnosis,  and treatment for depression in stroke patients based on BA principles. This study aims to verify the  effectiveness  of  BA  guideline  by  evaluating psychologist’s self efficacy in delivering service for stroke patients, patients’ satisfaction of service, & patients’ BDI scores. Data were analyzed by visual inspection and qualitative analysis.

Abstract

Many  factors such as individual, social, environment, organization and work characteristic factors  potentially raising stress.  The aim of this study was to examine the impact  of  appreciative inquiry coaching to reduce work stress of Traffic Policeman. The subjects of this study were Traffic Policeman at Yogyakarta. Experiment design was referred pretest-posttest control group design. Subject divided into two groups, experimental  group and control group. The experimental  group was the one who received appreciative inquiry coaching as treatment  and  waiting  list  for  control  group. The effectiveness  of coaching measured by Traffic Policeman Work Stress Scale that have been given for two groups of this study 3 weeks after  and before treatment. By using mixed-anova, the result indicated that Appreciative Inquiry Coaching reduced work stress of Traffic Policeman significantly (F=179.192, p<0.01).

Abstract

The  purpose of this study to examine the module "SHARING" to improve knowledge of antibullying and presentation skills antibullying. The design used in this study was the one  group pretest-posttest design. Quantitative analysis was conducted through statistical test  using Paired t-test. The result showed that there is significant  improvement between pretest  and  posttest on knowledge antibullying (t=-6.254, p<0.01  ), as well as presentation skills of antibullying (t=-17.872, p<0.01) in the study participants. The conclusion is that the module "SHARING" can improve their knowledge of antibullying and presentation skills of antibullying.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to carry out the validation of role play module “Aku Sayang Kawan” to improve the knowledge of prosocial behavior in the early age children. The hypothesis of this research was that the role playing module “Aku Sayang Kawan” could improve the knowledge of prosocial behavior in the early age children. The method of this  research was the untreated control group design with dependent pretest and post test sample design experiment. The participants of this research were separated into control group (13 children) and experiment group (11 children). The result of statistical test using anova mixed design was the score F=27.20 (p<0.01). It means that there was significantly different knowledge score of prosocial behavior from pretest to post-test between experiment and control groups. The role play module “Aku Sayang Kawan” could be applied to improve the knowledge of prosocial behavior in the early age children.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of child sexual abuse  (CSA) prevention training  toward  the  knowledge  and  examine  the  effect of health promotion program using lecture and leaflet conducted by cadre applied in community. The method used was a quasi experimental study using the one group pretest-posttest design and untreated control group design with dependent pretest-posttest samples. There were 19 cadres involved in this study. Questionnaires on knowledge, observation, and interview were used in this study. Repeated measures  anova  and  mixed  anova  were  used  to analyse the  quantitative  data,  descriptive analyse was used to analyse data from observation and interview. Data analyse was used to identify  differences of  knowledge before-after CSA prevention training and to examine  the effect  of  lecture and leaflet toward improvement of community knowledge. The results showed there was a significant difference in knowledge before and after training (F=20.245, p<0.05). Lecture and leaflet was effective to increase knowledge about CSA (F=3.379, p<0.05). Leafletwas more effective to  increase  knowledge  (MD=-2.824; p<0.01)  than  lecture  (MD=-2.355; p<0.01).
