Abstract

It is interesting to do research about the interaction between the local seller and the foreigners. The sellers who generally have Balinese cultural and basic educational background, every day to communicate with the tourists who have a language and a different culture. Based on the back ground of the problem, this research can be indicated into:  (1) How is the pattern of cross-cultural communication with foreign tourists with local traders at Sanur Beach? (2) What are the factors which are supporting and threat the local traders in communicating with foreign tourists on the beaches of Sanur?. This research was conducted in the area of Sanur beach, which are in Semawang, Sindu, and Padang Galak. This research is used purposive sampling based on certain informants criteria. The type of this research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. In this study, presented the concept of patterns of communication, cross-cultural adaptation process, interpersonal communication, behavior in communication, the concept of cross-cultural communication. The conclusion of this research as follows: Model of cross-cultural communications of local traders with the foreign tourists that traders use communication with non-verbal language such as waving, handshakes, smiles and eye contact. Local traders also used verbal language by using short English sentences without paying attention to the pattern of correct English. Some things can be a cross-cultural communications support between trader and foreign tourists are cultural vendors’ factors at Sanur beach who have an open character and friendly towards strangers. Another factor is the economic factor needs traders are trying to communicate with the settlers. While considered as a limiting factor is the lack of mastering a good English As well as the lack of understanding of the excellent service to the tourists.

Abstract

This study entitled "Practice of Nominee Agreements in The Tourism Sector". This research was motivated by the development of enterprises providing accommodation very rapidly evolved in Bali. Sample used is the development of enterprises providing accommodation in Ubud Tourism Village. Management system kinship turned into a professional management due to the influx of foreign businessmen as an investor. Foreign entrepreneurs have the mission as a tenant of accommodation and practices nominee agreement. Foreign entrepreneurs as foreign investors borrowed the name of an Indonesian citizen (citizen) to rent an accommodation and the accommodation is not used in private but more commercialized on behalf citizen of Indonesia. This study uses normative research and analyze the problems with the theory of the state law, the theory of the agreement, the concept of tourism and the principle of freedom of contract in dissecting the problems. The results of this study indicate that the validity of a nominee agreement is still not regulated in the legislation and is a commonly used smuggling law in passing foreign businessmen in investing.

Abstract

Rivers in urban areas are vulnerable gets damage and pollution. River side in urban area are strategic locations as residential areas. The existence of demands on the fulfillment of urban facilities and the high needs of the population as well as limited urban land raises the number of people in urban areas, especially the city of Denpasar who lives in the river side. Along with the development of the city and the unspecified urban environment especially the river side area there will be an impact on the environment, especially in the river flow. Denpasar city government currently has implemented the river revitalization program in Denpasar city by improving the view and cleanliness of the river as utilize the river one of the tourist attraction at Denpasar. One of the rivers in Denpasar that has been laid out is the Loloan river which is located in the Mertasari area Sanur Kauh. This river has a tourism potential that can be developed especially supported by the participation of surrounding communities. This research uses descriptive qualitative method through purposive sampling. SWOT analysis used for reference in the development of tourist attraction at Loloan river. This research is expected to give contribution for stakeholder and government of Denpasar city especially in development of river tourism in Denpasar city area in general and Loloan river in particular.

Abstract

Bali has a variety of tourism potentials including cultural tourism either in the form of products or exotic craft. One fairly well-known cultural productis woven fabrics (Kain Tenun), such as Kain Tenun Cepuk that exist in the area of Nusa Penida. The existence and uniqueness of the woven fabric is expected to help increasing tourism in the island, as well as increasing the income of both Bali tourism sector or specifically the people of Nusa Penida. Thus the present study was made to assess the potential Woven fabric tube Tanglad, Nusa Penida, as well as determine strategies and programs that can be done to develop the potential of the woven fabric tube Tanglad as a means of developing cultural tourism. This study is using a qualitative descriptive approach to measure the variables involved, and SWOT matric to explain and define the data in the formulation of strategies and programs. The data obtained several factors that determine the potential development of the Kain Tenun Cepuk, which is categorize as internal and external factors, in which successfully formulated four strategiesand programsthat can be developed, covering SO strategies (developingKain Tenun Cepuk and the surrounding areas), ST (developing cultural tourism in Tanglad and Nusa Penida), WO (dealing with right promotion issue), and WT (related to human resource development). The research is expected to be referencedto number of policies that can be taken by local government to develop tourism in Tanglad, Nusa Penida, as well as for the community to be able to develop the potential of the Kain Tenun Cepuk better.

Abstract

The use of Technology, Information and Communication (ICT) with creative and innovative content has emerged various forms of product innovation with disruptive character. Millennial market share recently is regarded as a selective market and the actors who play a major role in the development and evolution of conventional products into new features products to respond the current needs of global society in which facilitating the ease of transactions between service providers and their consumers. This paper aims to describe the model and phenomenon of the emergence of ICT-based product innovation in the context of global tourism. Through literature review and qualitative research, it is concluded that the phenomenon is inevitable and has occurred earlier in developed countries. However the innovations have disrupted the dominating product for a long time yet this innovation have raised a new industry with benefits that cannot be underestimated to society.

Abstract

The President of Republic of Indonesia issued eight instruction at the Sidang Kabinet on January 4th 2016, one if wich was “Ensuring the Development of the 10 National Tourism Destinations or 10 New Bali, to meet the 2019 tourism target, the increasing of (devisa) from 120 billion into 240 billion. Bali as one of Indonesia’s prime tourism destination has also taken participation in increasing the (devisa). This can be seen from the support given by Bali government to establish the development program of ten tourism village in the program of the development of Bali in tourism for the next four years to develop the rural tourism. Based on this, the research was aimed at participating in the development of Human Resource in areas where tourism villages take place to allow the villagers to interact intensively with foreign tourists and give their best service. The participation was the design and development of English training with syllabus, lesson plan and training material as its results. The training put much emphasis on the increase of English communication ability based on the potential resource of Bedulu Village as one of tourism village. The method of the research was Design and Development, porposed by Ellis and Levy (2010), that consist of several phases in designing and developing English training. We hope that the output of the study will results in the realization of society service at tourism village as English training.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the effects of servicescapes to the responses of the customers and waiters at food and beverage service in Café de Dapoer, The Oasis Lagoon Sanur. The change in physical environment including renovation, rejuvenation, as well as the changing design and concept of Café de Dapoer, attracted the researchers to conduct deeper analysis. Independent variable of analysis was the servicescapes (X), while the dependent variables were the response of the waiters (Y1), and the response of the customers (Y2) at Café de Dapoer, The Oasis Lagoon Sanur. The respondents of this research were 20 waiters and 40 customers at Café de Dapoer, The Oasis Lagoon Sanur. The method of census was used to collect samples from the waiters, while jugmental sampling was used to collect samples from the customers, with certain conditions. The technique of data collection used questionnaires with semantic differential scale. The research instruments were tested using validity test, reliability test, and normality test. Hypothesis testing applied the partial t test and the average comparison analysis. From the result of simple regression analysis, it could be concluded that the entire variables of servicescapes had positive and significant effects, both to the response of the waiters (97.1% were effected by servicescapes variables and 2.9% were effected by other variables) and to the reponse of the customers (64.3% were effected by servicescapes variables and 35.7% were effected by other variables). From the result of mean comparison, the response of the waiters was positively higher, that was 0.1799, compared to the response of the customer. The findings showed there were some factors with the values under the average standard, such as the temperature, air quality, lightning, function, signage, style of décor, fear, physical fit, afflication, and staylonger, which were later used as the base of evaluation.

Abstract

Trends of Information System affect the tourism industry. This fact showed by the utilization of information and communication technology used in the tourism industry. In the 1960s Flight Industry (Airlines) introduced the Central Reservation system. The mid-1990s tourism information system developed into a destination management system (DMS). The system was developed to provide information about tourism product to the tourist and used to find out the number of visitors. With this data, the destination management organization can make efforts to attract more visitors to come to the tourism destination Sanur is a one tourism destination that located in Bali Island. Geographically the sanur tourism destination is located in the southern part of the island of Bali. Administratively, sanur is a kelurahan in Denpasar Sub district, Denpasar municipality area. The main attraction of Sanur is the natural form of beaches along approximately 7 km from the start of the Matahari Terbit beach to the Mertasari Beach. Sanur Tourism Area is an area that is growing very rapidly. The growth of sanur area needs to be followed by good management to avoid exploitation of the Area.Good management requires valid and complete data to be able to make the right decision for  developing of sanur tourism area. In the management of tourist areas, obtaining valid data is not an easy job, because it involves many parties and data changes fast enough. To obtain a valid data need a Information system, so that data can be kept updated continuously.This article discusses the analysis of information system needs for sanur destination management. The discussion in this article aims to find the concept of information systems needed. The method used in data collection is interview and observation method. Data were analyzed by using linear and hierarchy technique with 6 stages.The results of this discussion is a concept of information systems with databases to be able to provide the data as a needed of the management sanur tourism area.
