Abstract

Chemotherapy shows high effectiveness, but also has side effects, including mucositis. Mucositis can cause pain, difficulty sleeping, eating disorders, mood, and activity, which has implications for the quality of life of children. The purpose of this study was to identify the incidence of mucositis and the factors that influence the incidence of mucositis in cancerous children receiving chemotherapy treatment. This research method is descriptive correlational analysis with cross sectional design. Consecutive sampling technique was used to establish respondents as research samples so as to get 60 respondents. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately. Bivariate analysis was performed with Chi square test and 2 mean difference test to see differences in the mean values of mucositis before and after chemotherapy. The results showed that almost all cancer children who received chemotherapy had 53 people (88.3%) and a small portion, 7 people (11.7%) had no mucositis. There was a significant difference in the mean value (p = 0,000) between before and after chemotherapy with an increase in the average mucositis value of 3.12. The research shows that there is a significant relationship (p <0.05) between previous mucositis experience (p = 0,000), type of cancer (p = 0.025), type of chemotherapy (p = 0.010), and duration of therapy (p = 0.027) and the incidence of mucositis. Meanwhile nutritional status was not related to the incidence of mucositis (p = 0.077). Nurses, as health workers who most often contact with patients, should be able to improve nursing care in cancer children who get chemotherapy in minimizing the occurrence of mucositis by conducting routine mucositis and oral care assessments.

The data collection was by using self-awareness questionnaire, analyzed by frequency distribution method presented in the form of high, medium, and low self- awareness.  The result of the research regarding the  risk  factors  of  diabetes mellitus  were  most  of  the  respondents  were  included  in  the  high  category (55.20%),  however,  there  were  also  respondents  who  were  included  in  the medium category (47.44%). It can be concluded that there were respondents who have a medium self-awareness. Abstract

Hemodialysis therapy is a lifelong therapy for the patient. One therapy that can be used in lowering stress levels and not yet widely used in Indonesia is color therapy (chromotherapy). The research design was quasi experimental with a pre-post test with control group design. The total sample of 12 intervention groups and 13 control groups was taken by purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted in March 2017 at Dr. Soepraoen Malang Hospital. The variables observed were a decrease in stress levels using the DASS questionnaire. Data were analyzed by the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that at pretest the majority of the intervention groups were at moderate stress levels of 5 people (41,7%), while in the control group 8 people (61,5%). After posttest the stress level in the intervention group fell to normal 8 people (66,7%) while in the control group it remained. The results of statistical tests obtained p value 0.001 < α 0.05 so it can be concluded that there is an effect of giving green color breathing therapy to decrease stress levels. Green color affects the central nervous system by using the retinohypothalamic tract as the main pathway of the color transmission mechanism to the limbic system and the endocrine system, so it will provide a calming effect, cause a sense of comfort, and reduce stress.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIntroduction: In adolescence, there are various changes, both physical, cognitive, and social, which cause adolescents vulnerable to reproductive health problems. The family as the closest part of adolescence is one of the main factors in improving adolescent reproductive health and has a very important role in providing sexual and reproductive health information to adolescents. Objective: to find out the communication between parents and teenagers about sexual and reproductive health. Method: The design used is a systematic review. Journal searches are conducted on online databases such as PubMed, Elsevier, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. Journals, articles, and literature reviews were found using keywords parent-adolescent communication, sexual and reproductive health, adolescents. Results: A total of 7 journal articles selected from 28 articles showed that communication between parents and adolescents regarding reproductive and sexual health was very important to do. However, the implementation is still lacking due to various factors such as lack of parental knowledge, parents lacking in communication skills, the presence of shame, and cultural influences that consider reproductive and sexual health issues as taboo to be discussed with adolescents. Discussion: The communication of parents and adolescents regarding reproductive and sexual health has been widely investigated in various countries. Interventions are needed to improve the quality of communication between parents and adolescents through increasing the knowledge of parents of these adolescents.

This study used observational analytic with cross sectional approach with a sample of 55 people taken by proportional random sampling using the chi square test. The results showed that there was a relationship of self-efficacy (X2hit = 10,977, p value = 0,001), organizational culture (X2hit = 18,366, p value = 0,000) with nurses' behavior in applying safe injecting practices in Kendari City Hospital. The conclusion of the study is that all independent variables (self-efficacy and organizational culture) are related to nurses' behavior in applying safe injecting practices. Abstract

The number of community health nurses is not balanced with the workload given. This causes nurses at risk of experiencing physical and psychological problems that have an impact on the quality of life of the professional community health nurses. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between workload and professional quality of life in percescent nurses at the Jember district health center. This study uses a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 74 respondents. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling and proportionate random sampling. Data collection was conducted in January-March 2019. The questionnaire used was NASA-TLX (α = 0.781) and ProQoL-5 (α = 0.903). The statistical test used is spearman rank. The results showed that there was no relationship between workload and professional quality of life (p value = 0.372; CI = 95%). Community health nurses have workload (78.4%), compassion satisfaction (9.5%), burnout (59.5%) and stress traumatic secunder (13.5%) in the moderate category. High motivation and hard work of nurses in carrying out their responsibilities make the performance of nurses good, even though they have a moderate workload. Evaluation from the head of the room and also the demands of the workplace agency make the nurse work optimally. No one has measured the quality of life professionally directly but through their performance. The results of this study are expected to be an additional reference in the development of research in the field of workload and quality of life professional.
