Abstract

The results of mental health disorders research by the University of South Wales showed that 36% experienced mental health disorders in the form of anxiety and women, the incidence rate was higher than men, 61%: 39%. The study was conducted 62 surveys in 12 countries covering 22,790 correctional prison residents found that every 6 months there was a prevalence of psychosis in men 3.7% and women 4% major depression in men 10% and women 12% and personality disorders in men 65% men and 42% women. From these data, many Penitentiary Citizens experience mental health disorders such as stress and sexual deviations. Deviations committed by Penitentiary Members include such as hallucinating / fantasizing, masturbating, and biological violation activities carried out by men and women in Correctional Institutions. This study uses the General Strain Theory theory by Robert Agnew using a quantitative approach. The data collected uses primary data in the form of distributing questionnaires to a predetermined sample of Penitentiary Guards. From the results of the study above the level of risk of deviant behavior of Correctional Guidance Citizens continues to increase along with the increasing level of pressure experienced by Correctional Guidance Citizens

Abstract

Schizophrenia is one of the most common mental disorders and is increasing every year. One common type of schizophrenia is paranoid schizophrenia. Usually, a positive symptom that often appears in paranoid schizophrenia is auditory hallucinations. Furthermore, paranoid schizophrenia residual type is an end stage of schizophrenia disorder where the individual does not have positive symptoms but still experiences some negative symptoms. The method used in this research is qualitative namely case studies. This case study aims to describe the assessment, diagnosis, and psychological dynamics of individuals who have residual paranoid type schizophrenia. Participant is one person selected using purposive sampling. Data mining is done by conducting interviews, observations, and psychological tests. Interviews were conducted both to the subject and significant others. Observation and psychological tests conducted on the subject. Psychological tests provided include intelligence and personality tests. The results obtained that AS does not have positive symptoms. However, negative symptoms that are still felt are subject who has confusion, has difficulty in controlling emotions and does not want to work. In addition, the psychological dynamic of AS is he has experienced many traumatic events in his life, including: death from his family, repeated fraud, not getting appreciation from the environment and he who felt that his role as head of the family could not function properly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self esteem with social anxiety. The subjects of this study were 115 adolescents in low socioeconomic status of Lingkungan VIII Belawan I, kecamatan Medan-Belawan. Datas were obtained from scales used to measure self esteem and social anxiety. Calculations were performed by testing the analysis requirements (assumption) that consisted of tests for normality and linearity. The data were analyzed using Product Moment Correlation with SPSS 17 for Windows. The results of the data analysis showed that the correlation coefficient was - 0.595 with a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). It showed that there is a negative relationship between self esteem and social anxiety. The results of this study indicate that the contributions made by the variable of self esteem on social anxiety was 35.5 percent, while the remaining 64.5 percent was influenced by other factors that were not examined. From these results, it is concluded that the hypothesis, which stated that there is a negative relationship between the self esteem and social anxiety, is acceptable.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-concept with academic procrastination. The hypothesis of this study stated that there is a negative correlation between self-concept with academic procrastination, assuming the higher self-concept, the lower the academic procrastination and conversely the lower self-concept, the higher academic procrastination. The research subjects were 124 fifth semester students of psychology faculty at university X of medan city selected by purposive sampling method. Data were obtained from a scale to measure self-concept and academic procrastination. The calculation was performed by means of testing requirements analysis (assumption) that consists of a test for normality and linearity test for relationships. The Analysis of the data was performed by Product Moment Correlation with SPSS 17 for Windows. The results of data analysis showed that the coefficient was -0.454 and p 0.000 (p <0.05). It showed that there is a negative correlation between self-concept and academic procrastination. These results indicate that the contribution given to academic procrastination by self concept variable was 20.7 percent and the remaining 79.3 percent is influenced by other factors such as self regulated learning and self efficacy. From the results, this study showed that the hypothesis is accepted that there is a negative relationship between self-concept with academic procrastination.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze 1) negative correlation between self-concept and academic procrastination, 2) negative correlation between peer social support and academic procrastination, 3) simultaneous negative correlation between self-concept and peer support and academic procrastination. This study uses a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were 112 students with the same characteristics. The sampling technique used is probability sampling. Data collection was carried out using 3 scales namely academic procrastination scale, self concept scale and peer social support scale. The results showed that: 1) There was a significant negative correlation between self-concept and academic procrastination obtained p value = 0.003, 2) There was no significant negative correlation between social support of peers with academic procrastination obtained p value = 0.481, 3) There was a correlation significant negative simultaneously between self-concept and peer social support with academic procrastination obtained F = 8,535 p = 0,000 with R square = 0,135. Effective contribution of self-concept variables and peer social support with academic procrastination of 13.5%. Students are expected to always learn to think positively in interpreting their lives, being open in expressing their feelings, and interacting with their peers.

Abstract

This study is based on the prevalence of verbal bullying detection among students in schools. This research takes the subject of research in SMP X with the number of 60 students. Partially there is no correlation between peer conformity with verbal bullying with significance value 0,964 (P> 0,05). There is a very significant relationship inversely between self-esteem and verbal bullying, the higher the self esteem the lower the verbal bullying. There is a conformity relationship with self-esteem with significance 0.004 (P <0.05). There is a relationship with peers with verbal bullying through the relationship between variables with direct relationship -0.03492> 0.006. This study shows the high number of peers present at the very high school level, the number of people is very high. Given from these results are benefits that can relate to verbal bullying.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see gratitude influence to turnover intention in Javanese. There are 51 people research subjects who are already working with an age range of 23-53 years in both public and privat organizations (BUMN, PNS, School, Entrepreneur). Research instruments use likert scale, it is gratitude and scale of turnover intention. After testing, it can be seen the results of this study show that there is significant value (sig = 0.012<0.05), that is mean gratitude has an influence on turnover intention in Javanese. In addition, the percentage of the role of gratitude in influencing the turnover intention of 12,1% whereas 87,9% influenced by other factors.

Abstract

The ideal family consists of father, mother and child, but it is different if there is spouse death or divorce so father or mother becomes single parent. Islam considers that mother is the main caregiver (madrasatul ula), but it is not found if there is death of a mother or child who follows their father when their parents divorce. Nevertheless, a single father is still optimize the nurturing to his children. This study aims to explore the internalization of Islamic values of a single father parenting. This study used qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects consisted of 6 single fathers. Data is collected with interview. Analysis is done by descriptive analysis. The results show that the values include religy, self value, responsible for the tasks, and social interaction. It can be concluded that a single father continues to carry out parenting by applying Islamic values.

Abstract

The client is a 37-year-old woman who experiences symptoms of depression. The assessment is carried out on the client in the form of observation, interviews, giving graphic tests, TAT, and WAIS. The results of the assessment indicate that the client is experiencing symptoms of depression. The intervention given was cognitive behavioral therapy which was arranged in 9 therapy sessions. The purpose of this intervention is to reduce depressive symptoms in the form of crying behavior, difficulty concentrating, and difficulty sleeping. The result of this intervention is that symptoms of client depression can be reduced, effectively reduce negative thoughts, and actively and productively carry out activities that have been arranged related to social activities in which there are interactions with others.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between conformity and cheating behaviour. The hypothesis of this study states that there is a positive relationship between conformity and cheating behaviour, with the assumption that the higher the conformity has, the higher the cheating behaviour, and conversely the lower the conformity has, the lower cheating behaviour. The participans of this study were 105 high school student in Gajah Mada School . The sampling technique used is disproportionate stratified random sampling. Data were obtained from a scale to measure conformity and cheating behavior. The calculation was performed using test requirements analysis (assumption), which consists of normality distribution test and linearity relationship test. Data were analyze by Product Moment Correlation with SPSS 20 for windows. The results of data analysis showed that the correlation coefficient was 0,659 (p<0.05). It showed that there is a positive relationship between conformity and cheating behaviour. These results indicate that the contributions of conformity variable to cheating behaviour was at 43,4 percent, while the remaining 56,6 percent is influenced by other factors not examined. Based on these results it is concluded that the hypothesis stating there is a positive relationship between conformity and cheating behaviour, is acceptable.
