Abstract

Introduction: Leprosy is an infectious disease that still causes complex problems. The problem in question is not only in medical and physical terms, such as disability, but extends to social, economic, and cultural problems. This study aims to explore the experience of leprosy sufferers with disabilities to achieve resilience. Methods: A descriptive qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach was used. The number of participants was eleven people affected by leprosy with grade 1 and 2 disabilities in Sumenep Regency obtained by a purposive sampling technique. Data collection used in-depth interviews with interview guides and field notes; the results of data collection were analyzed with theme analysis. Results: This study produced five main themes about the experience of leprosy patients in the process of achieving resilience, namely: 1) self-stigma as a stressor experienced by lepers, 2) psychosocial problems that arise in response to stressors, 3) active coping as a method of resolving stress, 4) positive adaptation as a form of self-adjustment, 5) characteristics of strong individuals. Conclusion: Lepers with disabilities identify self-stigma as a stressor that triggers the emergence of psychosocial problems. Individuals can form tough characteristics, such as responding positively to unexpected conditions, becoming more productive, and showing helping others behavior after overcoming stressors through the stages of active coping and positive adaptation.

Abstract

Introduction: The deviation problem of smoking activity an adolescent is come to anxious level for parents, teachers, and society. The correlation between parents nurture model and smoking activity of adolescent needs to be examined further. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between parents nurture model with smoking activity of adolescent (12-15 years old). Method: This was correlational research with cross sectional approach. The sample were 84 adolescent (12-15 years old) at MTs Mojosari Nganjuk. The independent variables was parents nurture model and the dependent variable was adolescent smoking activity. Data were collected by using questionnare, then examined by using chi square with the level of significant α=0,05. Result: Statistical analysis had showed the low correlation between permissive parents nurture model with smoking activity of adolescent (12-15 years old) at MTs Mojosari Nganjuk (p=0,049; r = 0,210) and no correlation between democratic nurture model (p=0,554) and authoritative nurture model (p=0,418) with smoking activity of adolescent (12-15 years old) at MTs Mojosari Nganjuk, but only permissive model which correlate with smoking activity. The permissive parents with no control and demand caused adolescent to be feeling unimpeded to do smoking activity since there is no warning and punishment from the parents. Discussion: So that, School nurses should provide health promotion to parents in making appropriate parenting in adolescence. Parents should have the right parenting provided in accordance with the age and development of adolescents because appropriate parenting will have a positive impact on adolescent behavior. Further research on parenting questionnaires must be checked for cross-compatibility between questionnaire answers given adolescent and parents to know the truth in filling out the questionnaire. The differences in this study compared to previous studies is the researcher doing research in the school semi islamic boarding school, while the previous study examined in formal school.Keywords: parent nurture model, smoking activity, adolescent

Abstract

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly caused a significant crisis in various groups and populations in the world, especially nurses. The roles and responsibilities that nurses have to play become a dilemma when they not only have to protect themselves, but also their colleagues and their families from this deadly virus infection. This study was to identify the experiences of nurses in providing nursing care to patients during COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The study used a phenomenological design. Ten participants were selected by purposive sampling. The data were gathered by conducting in-depth interviews and analyzed by Colllaizi’s method. The data were collected in hospitals of the South Tapanuli  area. Results: The data were gathered by conducting in-depth interviews and analyzed by Collaizi’s method. The result emerged five themes, namely: 1) Motivation of voluntary nurses to provide health services in the COVID-19 pandemic; 2) voluntary nurse psychological response; 3) problems faced by voluntary nurses; 4) the benefits of being a voluntary nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic; 5) the expectations of voluntary nurses. Conclusion: Voluntary nurses continue to carry out their duties in providing health services in the Covid-19 pandemic even though without any compensation received. The result of this research is recommended to the hospital and government giving the needs of voluntary nurses while providing health services during COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Introduction: Giving the medications, nurse should pay attention to the principles of “six of rights", namely: right of patient, right medication, right dose, right way, right time, and right documentation. There are more than a half of nurses in a ward who are not provide medications in accordance with the Standard Operational Procedure  (SOP). The purpose of this study was to determine of the relationship between applications of Standard Operational Procedure  (SOP) six rights of medication administration by nurses and patient satisfaction. Methods: This study was using cross sectional design.There were 30 respondents taken by accidental sampling. This research was conducted in February 2017. Data collection used questionnaires and observation. Chi-Square test was used to analyze data. It can be known from 30 respondents who had six right in application of medication administration was performed good (50%) then respondents were satisfied (50%). Results: The results showed the significant relationship between the six rights of medication administration by nurse and the level of patient satisfaction (p = 0.003).Conclusion: It can be inferred that the higher interaction that occurs between nurse and patient in applying the principles of medication administration, it will higher patient satisfaction. Nurses suggested applying the six rights during medication administration.

Abstract

Introduction: Self-care deficit is a nursing diagnosis in which the client experiences an inability to independently perform personal hygiene, dress, eat and defecate. Therefore, interventions are needed to address clients with self-care deficits. One of the interventions carried out is supportive therapy and token economy using the Peplau interpersonal nursing model approach. The purpose of this study was to analyse the effectiveness of supportive therapy and token economy in reducing signs and symptoms of self-care deficits based on the Peplau interpersonal nursing model. Methods: The research design was a quasi-experimental study using a two group pre-post design. The sample in this study amounted to 40 respondents, 20 intervention groups, and 20 control groups according to the research criteria. This research was conducted in July-August 2021. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling. The data was analysed by univariate and bivariate with a t-dependent test. Results: The results of the study showed that there was an increase in self-care before and after being given supportive therapy and economic tokens in the intervention group with a value before 133.60 to 140.05. A statistical test obtained p-value = 0.000 which means that there is an effect of supportive therapy and economic tokens in reducing signs of symptoms Of  self-care deficit. The results obtained in the control group after being given supportive therapy with values before 128.85 to 138.55 and statistical tests obtained p-value = 0.041, meaning that there is an effect of supportive therapy in reducing symptoms of self-care deficits. Conclusion: There is an effect of supportive therapy and token economy on improving self-care in self-care deficit clients. Abstract

Introduction. Childs stimulation from the outside environment is form of training or playing. Stimulation is a very important requirement for the growth and development of children. Children who get a lot of targeted stimulation will quickly develop. The purpose of this study was to know the corelation of socialization stimulation progression with the development of preschool children’s. Methods. Research design was Quasi Ekperiment with prospective method. Populations in this study were children aged 36-47 months with number of samples 23 respondents. Research’s instrument used questionnaires and observation sheets. Data were processed by looking at the distribution and frequency, mean value and statistical Chi-Square Test. Result. From the result of research was obtained 1) Stimulation given on early stimulation stag, with good category 47.8%, aftergiven the good category stimulation category 87.0%. 2) Development of socialization with good category was 87.0% on age group 36-47 month. 3) Results of the statistical test shoed that there was correlation of stimulation progression with children’s socialization development. Discussion. Social personal development was strongly infl uenced by environment and interaction among children and parents or other adult childrens. Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy is a physiological condition experienced by women after marriage. Physical changes and development occur in pregnant women can determine the health conditions of the mother and fetus. Nutritional status of the mother is one of an important key factors in pregnancy. The objective of this study determines the relationship between daily nutritional consumption of family and weight addition on pregnant. Methods: The design used in this study is correlational with cross sectional approach and the data obtained through questionnaires and documentary studies. Data analysis was carried out either quantitatively using Spearman rank or qualitative to deepen the findings in the field. Results: The results of this study found that the P-value 0.002 which means there is a relationship between the nutritional consumption with the nutritional status of pregnant women. The correlation coefficient was 0.309 which means a moderate relationship with positive correlation value implied that the better daily nutritional consumption of family, the higher nutritional status of pregnant women. Conclusions: Understanding the nutritional needs of pregnant women requires good cooperation between family and health workers.

Abstract

Introduction: HIV/AIDS as problems not only for adult, but these epidemic direct and indirect influence at children and families. Since 2005 UNICEF others seizing the initiate to against campaign with programedprevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT). Purpose of the research to exploration practice of mother HIV/AIDS positive to prevention infection to child. Located of the research in Kudus regency Central Java. Methods: Qualitative research methods by case studies conducted In-depth interviews on twelve HIV-positive mothers werepurposively selected. The triangulation to a case manager of HIV/AID and families. Data processing used manual of the thematic content analysis. Results: The results found after diagnosed HIV status, mother's good practices as sexual safe practice, Condom used, preventive pregnancies caused psychological trauma. ART consumtive since 26 weeks of gestation for preventive infection to child. Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes resilience is a condition where people with diabetes can accept their incurable disease as well. It is characterized by regular blood sugar, a diet-controlled, active, and not stressful. However, various kinds of feelings must be passed to become diabetes resilience. The study aimed to know what adult type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) felt before becoming resilient. Methods: A qualitative phenomenology design was conducted to observe the experience of adult T2DM before becoming resilient. The total participants were ten T2DM patients obtained through snowball sampling. The data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with interview guidelines and analyzed using qualitative thematic analysis. Results: The results of the study found two major themes namely psychological response and diet. Participants felt quite severe stress when diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and felt difficulty when undergoing diabetes mellitus treatment. In addition, changes in diet are also felt very difficult by participants in undergoing a diabetes mellitus diet. Conclusions: Psychological responses and diet are the hard parts felt by the participants. Increasing understanding, support, and acceptance can be one strategy to increase diabetes resilience in participants.

Abstract

Pendahuluan. Meningkatnya jumlah penderita Diabetes Mellitus menyebabkan peningkatan kejadian komplikasi diabetes, diantaranya luka pada kaki. Praktek keperawatan dapat berupa klinik ataupun perawatan dirumah (homecare). Tujuan penelitian adalah memperoleh gambaran keputusan memilih perawat praktek mandiri melalui home care dalam perawatan ulcus diabeticum di kota Semarang.  Metode. Metode penelitian kualitatif dilakukan pada 6 orang penderita Ulkus Diabetikum sebagai responden primer menggunakan  Focus Group Discussion. Partisipan dipilih secara purposive sampling. Triangulasi sumber oleh praktisi praktek mandiri perawat dan ketua PPNI. Analisis data menggunakan content analysis thematic. Hasil. Hasil penelitian penyebab terjadinya luka juga menentukan waktu penyembuhan, perawatan luka yang baik dipahami lebih kearah prosedur dan sifat empati yang menonjol dari perawat, partisipan mengetahui adanya praktek mandiri perawat dari membaca informasi papan praktek yang terpasang dan informasi dari orang lain, home care dipahami dari arti kalimat saja, sedangkan alasan dan keputusan menggunakan jasa home care karena banyak keuntungan yang diperoleh. Diskusi. Tanggapan yang positif dari masyarakat pengguna pelayanan home care karena perawat memiliki pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan stake holder serta melakukan pelayanan secara komprehensif.  Kata kunci: Perawat praktek mandiri, Home care, Ulcus diabeticum
