SAINTIFIKA: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan MIPA dan MIPA publishes a scientific paper on the results of the study and review of the literature in the sphere of natural science education in primary education, secondary education and higher education. Additionally, this journal also covers the issues on environmental education. SAINTIFIKA: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan MIPA dan MIPA is issued two times annually, i.e. Juny and December. The number of articles is 7 articles per year. Abstract

This research is based on the following problems: (a) How to increase student achievement by implementing the cooperative learning method of the Discovery Learning model in class XI MIPA 3 students of SMA Negeri Pakusari, Jember Regency, 2019/2020 Academic Year ". (b) How does the cooperative learning method of the Discovery Learning model affect the learning motivation of class XI MIPA 3 SMA Negeri Pakusari, Jember Regency for the 2019/2020 academic year.. This study used two rounds of action research. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely: design, activity and observation, reflection, and revision. The target of this research is 32 students of class XI MIPA 3 Pakusari State Senior High School. The data obtained were in the form of final test results, observation sheets for teaching and learning activities. From the analysis, it was found that the student's learning achievement had increased from cycle I to cycle II, namely, cycle I was 62.50% and cycle II was 94%.

Abstract

Hasil observasi peneliti pada perkuliahan Morfologi Tumbuhan menunjukkan pertanyaan yang diajukan saat diskusi kelas jumlahnya < 3 dan hasil belajar kognitif <50%. Solusi alternatif untuk mengatasi masalah di atas, yaitu menggunakan metode pembelajaran Student Teams Achiesvement Divisions (STAD). STAD dipilih karena metode ini dapat memberikan kemudahan kepada siswa dalam memahami konsep materi pelajaran melalui diskusi kelompok. Penelitian ini ialah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) berbasis Lesson Study (LS) atau disebut PTKLS. Subjek penelitian adalah 39 mahasiswa matakuliah Morfologi Tumbuhan. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama dua siklus, dimana tiap siklus terdiri dari dua kali pertemuan. Pada tiap siklus PTKLS meliputi tahap planning, implementing dan observing (meliputi tahap plan, do, see miliknya LS), serta reflecting. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah perkembangan bunga angiospermae, polinasi, fertilisasi, buah dan bagian-bagiannya, biji dan bagian-bagiannya, pemencaran, serta perkecambahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa Morfologi Tumbuhan mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I (64,87) ke siklus II (65,02) sebesar 1,002257% dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas berjalan dengan baik karena adanya plan, do, dan see miliknya LS pada fase implementing dan observing miliknya PTK. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran STAD berbasis LS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa dan pembelajaran berjalan dengan baik.

Abstract

At present it is using digital air measurements using much better analytical functions in the field using digital measurements that have accuracy weaknesses. Developing a condensation device into the air oxygen meter uses two methods: prioritizing Saltzman and Winkler, this corresponds to the contents in the air directly with air and oxygen. Development of atmospheric atmospheric condensation equipment for example ambient air oxygen concentration measuring generator, carried out with the R2D2 development model with a calibration process based on independent sample test Calibration T-test error test with digital titration and electrochemical methods, In addition to the significance of the measurement result is sig value 0.280 > 0, 05 and the calibration measurement results of the tool developed with a digital meter tool obtained the significance of the results that the sig value of 0.254 > 0.05 there was no difference between several samples using the method used.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of critical thinking ability of a high school students in Situbondo after the application of problem based learning model with a tracker video on momentum and impulse materials. The population were all of the 1st grade students in SMAN 1 Suboh Situbondo. The sample determination were using purposive sample technique. The sample used was X MIPA 2 and X MIPA 4 class. The results concluded that after the application of problem based learning model with tracker video, the level of student’s critical thinking abilities is good. From the six critical thinking indicators, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation and self regulation, the indicator that has the highest percentage is interpretation with a very good category. While the indicator that has the lowest percentage is inference in the good category.

Abstract

Teluk Semarang merupakan teluk yang terbentang dari Kabupaten Kendal, hingga Kabupaten Demak . Teluk Semarang merupakan teluk terbesar di pantai utara Jawa Tengah dan tercatat terdapat 29 aliran sungai bermuara ke teluk ini. Banyak aktifitas manusia seperti industri, pemukiman dan pelabuhan bermuara di teluk ini yag berpotensi menjadi tekanan ingkungan bagi organisme yang hidup di teluk ini. Plankton merupakan organisme yang hidup di perairan dan sangat bergantung pada kondisi lingkungan dan merupakan sumber makanan alami bagi ikan dan organisme laut lainnya. Mengkaji kelimpahan dan indeks diversitas plankton menjadi tujuan dari penelitian ini. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan September-Oktober 2014 pada 15 stasiun. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan sebanyak 4 kali, dengan interval waktu 2 minggu. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa jenis fitoplankton terdiri dari 6 kelas dan 37 generayang didominasi oleh jenis sedangkan zooplankton yang ditemukan terdiri dari 6 kelas dan 32 genera. Kelimpahan fitoplankton lebih banyak daripada zooplankton dan memiliki kecederungan hubungan yang berbanding terbalik. Indeks diversitas fitoplankton menunjukkan tingkat keragaman, kesetabilan komunitas dan tekanan lingkungan berada pada tingkat rendah hingga sedang, tingkat keseragaman jumlah tiap jenis tidak sama dan terdapat kecenderungan dominasi jenis tertentu. Abstract

This study aims to find out the improvement of IPA process skills through the 7E Learning Cycle on dynamic electrical materials in class 9H in SMP Negeri 10 Jember. This research was conducted at SMPN 10 Jember Jember. The instruments used in this study are IPA process skills observation sheet, learning cycle learning model implementation instrument (The 7 E LCM), test set and documentation. The research subjects were 9H class students as many as 32 students. The collected data is described and analyzed and then reduced and checked its validity using the triangulation method. The results of the analysis are obtained from the answers on the observation sheet. Overall, the 7E cycle model can improve IPA process skills in 9H class.

Abstract

Learning activities are activities carried out to produce changes in knowledge and skills in students. Learning activities contribute to the learning outcomes that students will get. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning activities of class XI students on the respiratory system material online at Pakusari Public High School using Microsoft Teams for Education with the PBL model. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The study population was all students of class XI SMA Negeri Pakusari. Student learning activities are categorized as beneficial because students take part in learning by carrying out various learning activities. The conclusion is that the average learning activity of class XI SMA Negeri Pakusari respiratory system material reaches 64,35%, including the very good category. The highest percentage is mental activity with a percentage of 71%. The activity that got the lowest percentage was drawing activity with a percentage of 55%.

Abstract

Acne is a kind of disease caused by Propionibacterium acne bacteria. Acne (Acne vulgaris) is a skin disease with chronicle inflammation of follicles polisebacea which generally occurs in adolescence. Treatment commonly used Medicinal Chemicals with high levels that can be harmful to the body. Alternatives that can be used as a substitute for Medicinal Chemicals is medicinal herbal of plant. Plants that can be used as herbal medicines are Kepuh and Jatropha. Kepuh contain triterpenoid, Jatropha contains alkaloid, tannin, saponin and flavonoid. The compounds have the potential as an antibacterial. This research is an experimental research laboratory that uses the diffusion method. Concentration used is 1%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9%. Based on the results of statistical tests ANOVA difference of Kepuh leaf extract and Jatropha forPropionibacterium acne showed significant differences among treatments with significance value of 0.001. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) Kepuh leaf extract that can inhibit the Propionibacterium acne is 3% of 0.7 mm, while the MIC of Jatropha leaves extracts for Propionibacterium acne is 4% of 0.38 mm.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are included in high-level thinking skills that train students to think logically, scientifically, and are relevant in solving problems. These skills need to be applied in the learning of the modern era today, one of which is PBL-based TPS learning that has the thinking syntax of thinking, grouping, and sharing opinions, combined with a problem-based approach. This study aims to determine the effect of Think Pair Share (TPS) learning models based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach to critical thinking skills and students' biology learning outcomes. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA at Balung Jember High School in the academic year 2017/2018. The research sample was class XI MIPA 2 as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 1 as the control class. The results showed that the Think Pair Share learning model based on the Problem Based Learning approach had a significant effect on critical thinking skills with a significance of (p = 0,000) and was also able to improve students' biology learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused several impacts, one of which is in the field of education. Teachers must innovate to develop media to facilitate distance learning systems. One of the media that can be used is E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning. E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning, namely learning media that is presented in an electronic format based on Problem Based Learning. This study aims to develop Problem Based Learning-based E-LKPD to improve the science process skills of junior high school students. The type of research used is R&D research with development design using the ADDIE model. The results obtained are that the Problem Based Learning-based E-LKPD that was developed can be used as a learning medium during the pandemic to improve students' science process skills. This is because E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning contains a problem to be solved by students.
