Abstract

This research aims to determine students' writing strategies in a tertiary institution in Olongapo City, Philippines. Seventy-two (72) college freshmen and sophomore students participated in the study. The researchers used a standardized survey questionnaire to gather pertinent data. Also, the researchers calculated the descriptive and inferential statistics using SPSS 20. The study results revealed that the student respondents have a "neutral" response to the monitoring and planning for writing. On the other hand, the student-respondents gave an "agree" remark for the revising and thinking aspects of writing. Furthermore, the study also found significant differences in the writing strategies of the freshmen and sophomore students when grouped according to their sex regarding revising, thinking, and planning.

Abstract

This study identifies instances of technological advancement where AI was used in an intelligent classroom. A learner is more likely to learn concepts via a visual medium than from a literary one, such as smart classrooms and virtual reality programs. The inability to collaborate in education utilizing AI to create a smart classroom for increasing student learning and developing achievements was one of the new technologies' shortcomings. The idea behind that is to teach the learner through visual materials that are significantly easier for them to understand and retain than text-based lessons. The smart classroom makes decisions about how measurement data and classes of elegant class features can contribute to and lead to implementing training methods for manageable improvement in the act of authentic teaching forcefully. This study's methodology focuses on providing a review of the various types of smart classroom technologies that are now available. The outcome demonstrates the considerable influence and suggests improving additional technologies utilized in smart classrooms. The Smart level demonstrates how 3D symbolism and learning techniques are used to study and understand various concepts. This article offers a thorough analysis of the smart classroom and how it can significantly advance the utilization of technology development approaches

Abstract

Recent trends in language education have demonstrated the dynamic use of technology in accommodating the needs of today’s learners. In relevance to the characteristics of digital natives, there is an urgency to transform teaching and learning practice. One promising approach to this matter is microlearning. Hence, this article aims to conduct a scoping review on the potential of microlearning in English language teaching. By examining twenty published research articles, this study sets two foci: how microlearning is used in digital platforms and how microlearning is addressed in ELT for higher education. This study reveals that microlearning approach is worth exploring to be applied in language pedagogical practices and to accommodate the 21st century English language learners in a post-pandemic context.

Abstract

In this research, the research approach used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a test data collection method to obtain data about students' reading abilities after learning the Snowball Throwing Model (ST), a questionnaire method to obtain data on the teacher's level of success in implementing the Snowball Throwing Model (ST) learning. ) in the Indonesian language subject reading material, while the observation method is applied when the teacher designs and applies Snowball Throwing (ST) Model learning in learning activities. Data analysis in this research is to fully apply data analysis in PTK, namely through discussion of criteria, scope of research, and visible behavior. Meanwhile, data validity is achieved in three ways, namely extended observation, triangulation (data triangulation, method triangulation and theory triangulation), and discussion with colleagues. Data shows that when teachers teach Indonesian reading material without carrying out class actions in Class IV of Midang 3 State Elementary School, Gunungsari District, West Lombok, the average class score obtained by students is below the Minimum Completeness Criteria score (7.0) where the Minimum Completeness Criteria for Indonesian is 7.5. Meanwhile, after carrying out class actions by applying the Snowball Throwing (ST) Model of learning, the average class score obtained by students was above the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) score, namely 7.6.

Abstract

PT PLN operates in the field of providing electrical energy and one of its goals is to meet consumer needs for electrical energy now and in the future, as well as PLN UID West Java. The initial step is to estimate how much electricity will be sold in the future. For this reason, electricity sales forecasting is carried out which can be taken into consideration by PLN UID West Java in making decisions. This research uses monthly electricity sales data in West Java for the last ten years. This data is not linear and not stationary, so an alternative method is used, namely Artificial Neural Network Backpropagation. Forecasting produces the best network architecture 12-7-1 with a MAPE of 2.965%. This architectural model is used to forecast electricity sales in West Java until August 2024.
